  1. I was having issues this morning with Auto-Correct. It seems that the Beta (192) still only ships with English UK, which is fine. I created a new text box and added text to test Auto-Correct to find it did not work. A search of the forum indicated that I need to change the language in the Character tool. It was set to EN/CA which is what I use, and probably set somewhere. I highlighted the test paragraph and changed the language to English UK. I entered in some items like (C), (a), -- (two dashes), (tm), to see if they would change. The first three changed as expected, but when I typed in (tm) APub stopped responding. I had to force it closed.
  2. Affinity Publisher 1.7.0.139 on Windows 7 (64bit, German) behaves as follows: Create a new document with a frame text and start typing with 'Replace text while typing' switched on. Typing (c) followed by a space somewhere in the middle of a text auto-corrects into a © followed by a space, and moves the text cursor behind this space. This seems to be the usual behaviour of auto-correction in more or less all software I know. Fine. Typing (c) followed by a space into the empty text frame (or at least at the end of the text) auto-corrects into a © followed by a space, and moves the text cursor directly behind the ©, so that the © is before the text cursor and the space is behind it. Strange... Typing (tm) followed by a space into the empty text frame (or at least at the end of the text) auto-corrects into a ™ followed by a space, and moves the text cursor directly before the ™, so that now there are two characters behind the text cursor. Even stranger... It would be nice if the auto-correct behaviour would always and reliably be as mentioned in (2). Andreas Weidner
  3. Affinity Publisher 1.7.0.139 on Windows 7 (64bit, German) behaves as follows: Create a new document with a frame text in it and start typing with 'Replace text while typing' switched on (text style is [No Style]). Typing (c) followed by a space auto-corrects into ©. Fine. Typing (C) followed by a space simply stalls the program until eternity, so that it needs to be killed manually. The same is valid for the following combinations: (r) works, (R) crashes. By default, if I enter either (p) or (P), nothing is automatically replaced. I guess wildly that this is because auto-correction of (p) is not mentioned in the German replacement list, so this seems to be OK. Unfortunately, if I manually insert it into the German replacement list, typing (p) properly works, and (P) crashes. By some reason, both (tm) and (TM) work properly. Andreas Weidner
