  1. Wow! Affinity Designer looks very good from the git-go. It's fast, well organized and pleasant to use. The text handling has some excellent features already. Scrolling through the font menu and watching selected text change live, quite a treat. The main addition it needs for me to replace AI is arrowheads. I don't need a lot of useless style options such as Adobe offers, just filled triangles that have some adjustment options. • placeable on beziers as well as straight lines • auto scale to line thickness • user adjustable scale acting on default size (+% and -%, i.e.) • user adjustable head angle (again, maybe relative to default) And maybe, if not too much trouble: • an option to have arrowhead extend line OR have the line shorten to place the arrow tip at the end of the original segment. Thanks for listening, Byrne [edit] P.S. Another discussion of arrowheads suggests ability to round corners. Not strictly necessary for me but nice. Acts on all three corners, maybe adjustable as a proportion of the arrowhead's size.
  2. Hey guys, I new to Affinity Designer and I wanted to make folding line for my origami ebook folding instruction, but after draw the line I don't see the arrow head available, how to make it? I googled it, but some post mentioned that this feature not available yet? how come? for such a pro app still not available? Please help and reply ASAP!
  3. I think when we get an arrowhead, we will also get a pure vector brush engine, unlike the one existing now that is an image stretched to follow a path. The reason for this is that they take a long, long time to implement. It is very possible that they are also writing a code for pure vector brush engine since it is more beneficial in the long run, rather than making a standalone house, they build an apartment.
  4. Found this neat trick playing with the pressure setting of a stroke... Can also be used for tails... Wouldn't use it for long paths though, it gets tricky to edit the shapes as it's mapped onto a narrow palette. Still fun for signage and as a design element, not technical illustration....
  5. Hey guys, I want to draw a double circle arrow for my origami tutorial ebook, I used ronniemcbride method to create the arrow head, then I create a circle and convert it to curve and cut it into half and duplicate it to become the double arrow circle, like below, but the arrow head is crooked, how do I make perfect double circle arrow? Left: arrowhead brush created by me Right: arrowhead brush created by ronniemcbride
  6. From my few days of working in AD I believe that one can only making arrowheads in AD by creating a separate graphic and attaching it on to a shaft. The arrowhead can thus be manipulated as a separate part of a group. Is that correct or does AD have an "arrowhead maker" that I have not found yet? I should add that I imported at lot of my Illustrator work. Arrowheads I made in Illustrator come out beautifully in AD. Hats off to you at AD who thought of all of us with tons of previous work in Illustrator. This makes AD more fabulous than ever!
