  1. 🇫🇷 Hi, below the three keyboards of the brand apple all in vector. Can be practical for tutorials with each independent key. The following typofaces were used: Avenir, SF Compact and SF Pro Display. These typofaces are free of rights. Screen prints are made with characters. To view the many characters (more than 5,000!…) of the SF Pro Display font, the Symbol SF (free) application is very practical, but the Codepoint utility (€9.99) is perhaps more effective with more than 70,000 items!… 🇫🇷 Bonjour, ce dessous les trois claviers de la marque pommée tout en vectoriel. 2. So I'm finally making the switch from a windows laptop to a MacBook, and I wanna make sure that I get something that's both in my price range, and also runs affinity well. But that being said, there's a lot out there. If you use affinity on a MacBook, what have your experiences been? What year/model are your MacBooks? Are there any MacBooks I should stay away from? Affinity is by far the biggest consuming product I will use on the laptop, so that's why I'm here first. I've been told MacBook pros are the way to go, but I don't know much more than that, and my only mac experience has been an iPad pro and my 2016 imac all in one dinosaur, which barely runs affinity at this point.
  3. Could someone at affinity please send an update on why the ability to open a raw file from Apple photos app on iPad M1 Pro no longer works in v2.1? It worked in the previous version so surely it’s not too difficult to compare the coding.
  4. Hello, I'd like report a performance issue. Affinity Designer Version: 2.0.0 System: Apple Mac Studio, M1 Max, 24c GPU, 32GB memory, 1TB SSD macOS: Ventura 13.0 Display: LG 27GN950, Displayport 1.4, Adaptive Sync enabled, 144Hz, 4K Mouse: Logitech G502X, Polling Rate: 1000Hz, DPI: 800 - 8000 (Edit: usually I'm using 3600 - 3800 DPI) Settings: Hardware acceleration: Metal compute acceleration (Apple M1 Max) ; Display: Metal (Edit: The issue also seems to occur with OpenGL) Issue: Selecting and moving objects appears laggy. I also noticed it when moving folders or files on my Desktop, so it could also be related to macOS Ventura. Video: https://youtu.be/kzrrg5mBT30 Repeat: Open any project and move any objects. Greetings, DC9V Affinity 2.0.0 ~☺~ M1 Max.mp4
  5. Hi i got the apple motion app and im struggling to find out how to import vector files into the motion app vekpo isn't support affinity files and also svg/pdf files
  6. There are a few threads about kind of similar issues but not exactly like this so i start a new topic, hope that’s ok. I switched from iMac to iPad Pro 12.9”. I store and sort my raw files in Apple Photos and iCloud and I use Affinity Photo For iPad for editing. I want to be able to select an image in Apple Photos and from there open it in Affinity. I found several helpful ways to creating a shortcut here in the forum. The problem is that it’s not working for me. When I click on “Affinity” (which is the name I gave the shortcut) nothing happens. But, and this is where it gets interesting, one single image in my Apple library opens in Affinity as it should. The image that works is originally a raw file from Apple Photos that I opened in Affinity, edited, saved as a JPEG in the iPad Files folder and then saved it back to Apple Photos. That’s the only one that will open when I use the shortcuts. The other JPEGs, PNGs and raw files won’t open. i attached photos of my shortcut settings and the Affinity shortcut in the share sheet. Anyone knows what might be the problem?
  7. Hi! Does it make sense to wait for the light version for the iPhone in the near future? I really miss the pocket vector editor for accurate sketches ... with symmetry and sticking on the grid Or can you recommend an application from another manufacturer?
  8. Have been using Serif/Affinity software for many years and have no problems with the PC versions. But it's time to upgrade hardware and I'm considering the new M1 Mac. It is available with 8gb RAM or 16gb for extra charge. Has anyone had any experience with Affinity on the new Mac and can recommend if the extra memory is worth the extra cost? The conventional thinking for PCs is that more RAM is always better, but the Apple IOS is supposed to be a lot more efficient than Windows. Any advice appreciated!
  9. I'm new to Designer on iPad and just spent two hours (unsuccessfully) trying to figure out how to draw a line with the Apple Pencil. I've searched the forum for every combo of "designer enable apple pencil ipad" and searched the Help '?' on my iPad and found nothing. Would someone please point me to the magic incantation that will "turn on" the Apple Pencil? Thanks, Doug
  10. Dear Affinity: There has been resistance in the developer community to porting apps to Linux, but now would be a good time. I think with ONE professional content creation company making the move, there would be a flood to the apps and platform.
  11. hey my affinity designer app looks like this (I don't know how this happened), how do I fix this?
  12. Hi Is is possible to see the contents of Apple Photos, i.e. the photos that sync from all my apple devices in Affinity / File / Open or elsewhere? If not is there a work around? Thank you in advance Al
  13. After the disappointment of a missed opportunity with the re-design of the new 24" iMac, and after seeing loads of posts from other mac users voicing similar disappointment, I thought I'd have a shot at something more inline with something I would want to buy while still retaining the chin, although saying that I think I'd only buy another iMac if they allowed Apple Pencil support so you could draw directly on the screen - I also think it's current ugliness could be rectified with stickers (I'll give it a week or so before you'll be able to pre-order a sticker kit from somewhere) ----- white bezels??? just adding back a small Apple logo gives the 'chin' purpose, and for me, works in the same way as seeing someone without a navel - anyway find attached for anyone interested an all vector re-design for anyone to download and play with - I have it set up as snapshots for each colour which are all setup as global colours. Be interested to know other users thoughts on the subject Screen Grab 2021-04-22 at 13.38.05.mov 2021 imac.afpub
  14. Hello, the Apple app store states that the Affinity Designer app is compatible with the Ipad Air 3 however after I purchased the app I received a message stating that it is not, in fact, compatible with this model and I need to seek a refund for my app purchase. I'm confused because I see people in this forum who have the Ipad Air 3 and are using the Designer app so am I receiving this incompatibility message in error or has the app recently modified to exclude the Air 3?
  15. I regularly create PDFs for my clients to proof projects. Most will mark up the PDF, send it back, and I review their edits in the Comments tab. Since I recently purchased a new Apple Powerbook with the Apple silicon, my clients can no longer use the markup feature in Adobe Acrobat. Specifically any of the highlight, underline, or strike out options. I'm also concerned that Publisher will not create a properly formatted PDF when it comes time to send a file to the print vendor. In looking new PDFs versus old ones I've exported from Publisher, I see that the encoding software is now listed as "PDFlib+PDI 9.1.2p1-i (generic)", while in the older, pre-M1 exports, its listed as "PDFlib+PDI 9.1.2p1-i (OS X/macOS)". I assume this may be a compatibility issue with Acrobat. I saw this article from back in the Fall: Acrobat M1 Compatibility . Is there a fix or a workaround for this issue?
  16. I bought affinity photo and designer last week on my iMac and I am very happy with it. I talked to someone else who owns it, and she said she first used it on Apple and when she switched to Microsoft, she could just install the software there. However, when I download try to the software on my Windows laptop, the files are not supported: they are clearly installers for Apple operating systems. So I was wondering, is it possible to get the software for windows as well (or do I need to buy this separately)? Thanks already, Jip
  17. Hi, I do a lot of photo editing in Affinity Photo and Capture One. I also do a lot of vector editing in Affinity Designer. Last year, to speed up workflow, I bought a new Apple iMac Pro 3 GHz 10-Core Intel Xeon W, 64GB memory, Radeon Pro Vega 64X 16 GB graphics card and 2 TB SSD. This machine did cost me 8500€! This is very very expensive for me, but previously I had a MacBook Pro (2016) that was too slow for my graphics editing. So I thought to me let's spend a little more money to get a really powerful and fast machine, so my graphics editing will be in realtime without waiting time at all. At least that was what I wished and thought. But I have to say that neither Affinity Photo nor Affinity Designer have become much faster with the new computer. Both programs often have very long waiting times when working. I always watch the CPU usage and see that no core is ever used to its maximum. Let alone that all cores are used. It is absolutely incomprehensible to me that I have waiting times in the programs if there are enough performance resources available but they are not being used. For example, I like to work with the Inpainting Brush in Affinity Photo. Sometimes I really have to wait about a minute for it to finish calculating. It is very annoying. During this time, my computer has enough resources that Affinity does not use to calculate it faster. It may take advantage of 2-3 cores in half and the GPU by a quarter. But the rest of the cores do almost nothing. And we're not talking about huge photos here. I recently edited a 12MP iPhone photo. Or I work in Affinity Designer with graphics that consist of approx. 2000 elements. It is almost impossible to select all of these elements and move them around. It is so jerky that the graphics are rendered here and there and lag behind. It is impossible to work with. Here too it can be observed that perhaps two of the CPU cores do something, but are also underutilized. The rest does nothing. The GPU doesn't do anything either. Believe me, I've tried every combination of performance settings in Affinity Photo and Designer. Because it really annoys me that everything is so slow! But it only got slower than faster. I would understand that there is a waiting period if all resources are used to the maximum and there are no resources left. But because the CPU and GPU of my machine are mostly idle while I see slow process bars and long waiting and reaction times, I wonder if something is wrong? My question is, can I do something about it e.g. use certain special settings or is Affinity Photo and Designer not developed for using the performance of my machine? I've already spoken to Apple Support who checked my machine. But everything is normal and fine. I have reinstalled macOS and every app. But it hasn't changed. I mean a year ago this machine was advertised as "Power for Pros" or as "the fastest Mac every build". It would only have been faster with the 18 cores version with 256GB memory. So I ask myself, what machine do I need to buy from Apple to have a noticeable speed advantage? Best regards, Christoph
  18. I wonder if anyone here already tried to use Affinity Designer on iPadOS 14? Are there any issues occured?
  19. Hi, The gradient tool creates a black outline on shapes that are placed over a shape that has a gradient. See picture attached. The orange circle under the emoji has a gradient. A black outline appears under the red heart eyes. When I move the gradient, I can see the black outline moving around. The black outlines created by the bug are circled in green in picture 1. The outline disappeared in picture 2 when I lowered the gradient. Please note that the glitch only seems to affect shapes that have a shadow under them (hearts and pink patches) but not the white star and the mouth. This is the latest version of affinity designer and I work on a macbook pro (catalina). Thank you for your help, Lauriane
  20. If you're designing an iOS app icon, you can use this template to export the 18 different icon sizes required by Apple named according to Apple’s guidelines. To get started, edit the Icon symbol on the App Icon layer. When you are ready to export, switch to the Export Persona and click the Export Slices button. Make sure to disable the mask layers before you export – icons should be exported as square images. You can download the latest version on my website. Thanks for looking!
  21. I bought Affinity Designer and Photo through the Mac App Store but I bought Publisher directly from Affinity (yes I know – what a dumb thing to do). I don't intentionally do this, I simply followed the links I found and bingo here I am with three products by the same company but they're differently licensed. I sometimes find the Designer and Photo personas don't work from Publisher, It doesn't happen often, usually just before I update to newer versions when they become available but I can't reproduce the problem consistently. I suspect it's because the MAS version's don't want to play with the directly bought ones, but I'm no software developer. I'd like to licence the three the same way if possible. If it's through the MAS or directly through Affinity that's alright (I'd be happy with the latter so nobody gets a cut) but I'd just like some continuity: There must be a way to transfer a licence from MAS to run a direct bought version? I've done it with other products that I've bought through the App Store and I'd be very happy to hear if there's a way Affinity could do the same. What do you think Affinity, Is there a path to transfer licences or can you make one like other software? Thanks in advance. Emyr
  22. Hi team. I hope you guys are safe and well during all of this COVID-19 chaos! I have a quick question regarding Affinity Photo for iPad. When I draw, the screen seems to blur or lower in resolution as soon as my Apple Pencil touches the screen, and then it smooths out again when I lift it. I did a screen recording to show what I mean, here's the link (be sure to watch in HD): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSQTuxV0E34 Why does this happen? It's subtle, but it can be a bit disruptive when doing finer detailed line-art, as I can't always see the smaller areas in as much detail while drawing. An example is the finer hatched lines in the video, which become quite unclear as soon as I put the Apple Pencil down. I seems to happen less when I'm quite zoomed in, but I tend to prefer working a bit more zoomed out so that I can see more of the content I'm drawing while I'm drawing, and not get lost in the details. Thanks in advance!
  23. I was move a file out of a project folder on my iPad Pro, then suddenly Affinity Designer crashed. When I opened Affinity again, my entire folder with several vector images was gone. Completely deleted. No folder, no files. Which seems completely impossible since Designer for the iPad only allows for deleting files one at a time. Unfortunately, all of the vector images I lost were saved not up-to-date, so those files are completely gone now...
  24. Hi there, I bought Affinity on the app sore on my mac and have recently got a new desk top windows PC. I was looking to get affinity on this machine too as i know you can have it on a number of machines if its just you using it. When i go to sign into my account, it dose not recognise the email address that is associated with my apple ID. Is there a way for me to get this on both PC and Mac without having to purchase two licences Thanks!
  25. I just purchased the 7th generation ipad 10.2. capacity of 128GB. I plan to purchase affinity photo and designer for this tablet, but will this tablet be enough to run the progams?
