  1. Hi all, here's something very different from my usual and a bit of a personal challenge on a recent illustration project. Denman Digital in Vancouver hired me to create a series of images for a project they were doing for their client the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) here in Canada. The Hunting in Canada Field Guide lays out the traditional methods, tools and prey Indigenous people used and continue to use to survive and thrive in Canada's northern frontiers. This project is a web companion piece to their Moosemeat and Marmalade adventure cooking show on APTN. https://aptn.ca/moosemeatandmarmalade/ Almost every aspect of these illustrations utilized the pixel persona in Designer. I could've use Photo exclusively for this but I am much more comfortable and familiar with Designer and the process is basically the same. I created a bunch of new custom brushes as well as used many of Designers default and user-contributed brushes for this. I was rather pleased with the final outcomes and have since started adding more of this pixel painting workflow to my usual work. Rather than upload a bunch of images here I'll point you to a few links on my Behance site below and leave just a few images here. The project was broken down into 3 areas: Prey, Hunting Tools and Hunting Strategies. https://www.behance.net/gallery/77640277/Hunting-in-Canada-Field-Guide-for-APTN-Prey https://www.behance.net/gallery/77647417/Hunting-in-Canada-Field-Guide-for-APTN-Tools https://www.behance.net/gallery/77647933/Hunting-in-Canada-Field-Guide-for-APTN-Strategies Much thanks to Denman Digital and APTN. :-)
  2. Hello Affinity fans Today I drawn flamingos, interesting long-legged birds. I have made not use of textures, patterns, pixel layers or brushes, I just wanted a very simple illustration, just shapes, pen and gradients. Give a look at the illustration, drawn in Affinity Designer and tell me what do you think, leave your feed backs, write positive and negative The full project here on behance
  3. Hi all, New to AP. Relatively new to serious photography as well, but it has always been a hobby. First of all...big thanks to the Serif team for providing such a professionally crafted app at such an amazing price. Eagerly awaiting what's in store for the future. Anyway, just thought I'll say an introductory Hi with some recent shots RAW developed with AP. Cheers P.S. All criticism, advice and suggestions much welcome and appreciated.
  4. Hey guys how you doing today? It's a bright shinny day today but yesterday was a cold dark one. Rainy at moments in the morning so I took an hour with my son to draw and do arts. I'm a logo/jersey designer and he asked me a Cheetah themed jersey if he passes his grade. So I came up with a logo and now looking to design the jersey with the colors he gave to me. Here's the logo so far. I'll let you see the jersey design when its done and the jersey when its printed and sewed. Should be a month long process since we're doing a lot of overtime these days - no time for personal project - but should be fun! We are working with Adobe's products but at home I'm running both Adobe's and Affinity's and I prefer by far Affinity (unless the tools are existent yet). So this will be done within Affinity from the sketch to the final jersey. (Designer have been used for the Logo - Photo for the presentation). Thanks!
  5. Dear community, I hope you don't feel like I'm spamming the forum with all my threads. Today I'm sharing a project that I started today. It's going to be a series of animal illustrations who are in jeopardy of extinction. Most cases of total extinction are leading back to human interference and neglect. Raising awareness is one part, committing oneself to find proper solutions is the next. I hope, there are no grammar mistakes in this series. Hehe. English is not my forte. Anyways, critiques and feedback always welcome. Cheers, Mike
