  1. maybe its bug that is already reported, but im unable to find it here... if you are editing text field, and forexample press alt-space for inserting non breaking space, you loose focus on textfield and are in main menu (file, edit etc) Its super-annoying if you are editing larger text
  2. Hello, I recently came across a previous thread which I cannot find now that mention folks having issues with using the alt color picking function while using the brush tools. The issue: trying to alt select color picking while using the brush tool shows the zoom loupe but it is very jittery and doesn't select color at all or is completely inaccurate) I wanted to mention that I share their agony and have been using the latest official release and beta. The previous thread had mentioned that the lastest beta would have corrected the issue but it hasn't corrected the issue on my end. (could have been mistaken though) Not trying to duplicate threads just could find the previous thread, feel free to merge if possible.
  3. When using alt for color picker magnifying glass seems to instantly launch and makes my color picker do weird things, making it too frustrating to pick colors quickly. When switching to color picker using a shortcut magnifying glass seems not to even begin loading unless i move cursor a little bit with pen pressure applied, which works great for me since color picking is accurate, fast and just like in other software. However if I switch off color picker too quickly (happens alot) or even before I release pen pressure line appears. Please consider doing something about magnifying glass if it's in fact the cause. It's neat for vector stuff, but for painting for me I prefer to be able to pick a color fast just how other programs do it. Also I promise I don't miss colors on purpose! Trying my best. affinity color picker with shortcut bug.mp4 affinity color picker with alt bug.mp4
  4. Hi guys, thank you for reading this. I would ask you to consider a very smart and intuitive way to navigate the canvas. Illustrator (and also Photoshop with some minor difference) uses the modifier keys Ctrl, Alt, Shift and Space in combination to activate or deactivate certain tools. This solution is very useful and super fast because you do not need to move your fingers over the keyboards and you do not need to hit a key twice to activate/deactivate a tool, but with just 4 keys you can access to all the navigation tools, like pan, zoom, select, and so on. You probably already know what I'm referring about, but I'll add a list of the most common combos (please note that being a combo means also to hold them together while using the tool): Ctrl = Object Selection (or, if Object Selection is active, it triggers Element Selection) Ctrl + Space = Zoom In Ctrl + Space + Alt = Zoom Out Alt = Drag Copy (also after clicking for drag, atm it works just before) If you have to deal with conflicts among other shortcuts, like combos already used for other functions, please contact me and I'll be happy to deal with it. Finding the same interface as the most popular software would have many advantages: - reduce frustration and improve experience using the software - reduce adoption time - triggers interoperability between software (so you can use the same habits while switching from one sw to another...yes, someone still does) - uses a model already spread and tested, based on years of experience I totally understand that this is another software and it's normal to not expect to find the same stuff of the competitors, but this is not the kind of thing that makes AD positively different from its competitors (imho of course); making the transition from one software to another as smooth as possible for as many users as possible I think is more valuable. I and a bunch of other folks would really love to find these combos in the next updates. Thank you for your attention. p.s. dear reader of this topic, please, add here other combos that you would like to have in the future.
  5. Hi everyone, I've found a very annoying bug, where if you move a layer with the arrow keys on the keyboard and then try to ALT + Drag to duplicate, then the layer you dragged the duplicate from jumps back to the location it had before moving it with the arrows. See the attached image to better understand the issue.
  6. Hey there community! I've got two bugs right now I assume. First one: if I try to assign the Alt+Backspace command to the "Fill" option it can't record the Backspace for me. It only says Alt+ and then waiting for input. At first I thought it's because the exact same shortcut is assigned to the "Inpaint" option, but even after removing it from there it does not record any other "function"-keys (?) except for numbers and letters, as far as I can tell. Second bug is this one: I'd like to assign , (comma) and . (point/full stop) to any tool that offers the option of changing the brush size via key-input. So what I thought would work is applying those keys to one random tool and check the box "Apply to all", but it's not working. In fact this box does nothing for me right now. A work around for me would be the option of pressing the Alt+Ctrl key and drag, similar to how it's working on Mac, but that doesn't work for me either – maybe I got the wrong buttons and someone can tell me wich ones to press actually to make it work? Edit: I'm working with a german-layout-keyboard btw. Greetings Dennis
  7. Using a Windows 10 tablet, how do you do an Alt-Click action?
  8. Hi, I made the switch from Adobe Creative Cloud to Affinity Designer and Photo. I don't regret it at all but I'm missing something really useful that neither Affinity Designer nor Photo have. I'm talking about how it's possible to resize from center in Photoshop just by using ALT modifier. Same think about SHIFT modifier to keep aspect ratio. The best is to be able to use those modifier separately or combine. Can you consider adding this? Thank you so much
  9. Hey guys! :) Just joined this forum and started using the trial of Photo. I am coming (what a surprise) from Photoshop and really miss a option in Photo to configure which button has to be pressed for zooming in with the scroll wheel. I am really used to using the "ALT" button (Im on Windows btw) in pair with the scroll wheel. The standard seems to be a combination of "CTRL + Scroll". Other than that I am really impressed with Photo. My not-so-powerful notebook flies through the program; this wouldn´t be possible with Photoshop. (My gaming PC on the other hand just doesn´t care if its open and running  ) Awesome work! When there is money to spare I will buy this awesome piece of software B)
  10. Does the layer list get activated when the mouse cursor moves above it? If so, what would people like the idea to be able to assign Ctrl, Alt or Shift as modifiers to mouse wheel, to be applied to that list? Functions like: Ctrl+Wheel = Move Selected layer up/down Shift+Wheel = Select layers up/down Alt+Wheel = Change layer transparency/mode Other functions to enable with modifiers could be like: wheel Up = Show layer wheel Down = Hide layer wheel Up = Select widget tabs right wheel down = Select widget tabs left
  11. A lot of art programs like Paint Tool Sai/ Clip Studio use the shortcut combo "CTRL + ALT" and a drag to change your brush size quick and easily. I'm not sure how hard this will be to implement into Photo/Designer; but it would be a really great feature for people looking to freelance with the brush/pen tool and with tools like the Selection brush tool.
  12. Hello guys, first of all thank you for all the amazing softwares, both Designer and Photo. I'm having some troubles with the Wacom Cintiq: when I use "alt" (or any other modifier) to draw vectors on Affinity Designer with my Macbook Pro it works perfectly well, but when I press these buttons and I'm drawing on the screen of the Wacom Cintiq they don't work. Example: I want to draw a straight line, so keep "alt" pushed and it works on the Macbook pro but not on the Wacom Cintiq. The strange thing is that it works on my Mac Pro 5.1 where I still have the old OS (El Captain), but it doesn't on the laptop, where I've upgraded to Sierra. Thank you in advance for your help! PS: I'm having trouble with the upgrade of the latest version of the drivers for the Cintiq both on the macbook pro and mac pro...but still, on the mac pro everything works smooth.
  13. Hey, So in Photoshop you can Ctrl click a layer and use either Alt, Shift, and Alt+Shift (on Windows) to allow the subtracting, adding or selecting the intersection of the current selection. This is really handy for creating masks and composite shapes. I know in Affinity Photo that you can Ctrl click a layer to select the opaque area, but using the keyboard modifiers doesn't seem to do anything else. Is there another way to do what I do in Photoshop in Affinity Photo? Cheers, Mark
  14. Especially with the stroke width slider I would like to constrain the selection to whole numbers, or predefined common values. I guess I am used to Xara where it is a drop-down offering None, 0.25, 0.5, 1, 2, 4 etc. At present I drag and end up with a value like 1.3 which I then have to modify by hand (typing). Perhaps constraining to whole numbers if pressing Shift while dragging? Or do it the opposite way around (like the Zoom slider in Navigator Panel) where there are fixed stops that the slider snaps to, but holding Alt disables the snapping?
  15. How to modify snapping panel to snap duplicated object by using Alt+Drag? I try to snap it to grid. Moving object normally works fine, but when Alt+Drag the duplicated object move freely.
  16. Can the cropping tool also follow 'standard' OSX keyboard shortcuts so that when alt dragging from a side or top the opposing side moves accordingly. Makes it very easy to crop evenly. Also, why does Photo not have an option to trim the transparent pixels from a document? MM
  17. Hi, Just starting out evaluating the AP trial against my current editor (PS CS6). Very impressed so far; hugely impressed with your work. I primarily use Curves and Levels adjustment masks in my work. Using a Levels adjustment mask in PS CS6 and adjusting the Black and White levels, I can see a full-image clipping indication mask if I hold down ALT while adjusting. This is a really helpful tool. Is there an equivalent for this in AP? I tried holding down ALT while adjusting black/white sliders but there was no effect. I also tried the other modifier keys (Shift, Cmd etc), but also no effect. I'm using AP Trial v1.3.5 on a late 2012 Mac Mini running OS X 10.10.5. Many thanks, Matt
  18. When Alt+Drag to copy an object then Ctrl+Z, the duplicated remain on top of the object. I'm not too sure this is an oversight bug or by design.
