  1. Someone can help? I'd really appreciate! Photoshop: select all layers to be aligned Edit / Auto-Align-Layers Affinity Photo: select all layers to be aligned nothing found... čĄö Cheers, Roland
  2. If a text is Bottom Aligned, by default, it is placed exactly on the line/outline of the selected area. This not happens when the same text is Top Aligned. How to perfectly align text to the top? text is Bottom Aligned here text is Top Aligned HOW TO ELIMINATE THIS GAP?
  3. The Stacking option under File->New Stack etc. is great, what I really wish for though, would be the option to do this with already loaded layers and also the stacking tool taking any masking into account. This is vital when stacking milkyway images, since it usually aligns to the foreground and not to the stars, which can be compensated for when you mask out the foreground. Cheers
  4. Hi there, I┬┤m missing the 'distribute with spacing' function from InDesign. I did not found a workaround for Publisher to distribute objects with no space. Are there any plans to realized that in upcoming versions? Thanks for your great work! Bekim
  5. Hello! I've been trying to use Affinity Photo for a while (trying to switch from Photoshop I've been using for many years), and I noticed that there are some features missing. But I will only ask you to add this one, since not having it in the editor is terribly annoying. Please add the ability to align objects/layers to Selection Frame. Like so: In this example, the objects are aligned to the center of Selection Frame. Having this feature (aligning to Selection Frame) would help a lot! This is how "align to selection" works in Photoshop, and sadly doesn't in Affinity.
  6. Hello everybody, before I start to decribe my problem I want to say thanks, that it is possible at all to work with such precision, it does really make a difference to the quality of the work I produce and it's exactly the reason why I switched to working with the Affinity Apps! Now here's the problem: I am currently working with a high-precision document where the decimal places for unit types are set to level 6. In this document I have created a rectangular grid, which is also finely calculated with 6 decimal places. If I now want to align objects to this grid, I run into a problem with the rendering of the grid. The objects do not snap in the middle of the grid line, but somewhere on the side of the line. However, this becomes visible only at an extreme magnification. The problem is, if I place objects with the size of a grid unit directly underneath each other, at some point they will no longer lie on the grid, because this minimal shift causes the objects to protrude further and further beyond the grid lines. On top of that some other questions arise. When I zoom to the maximum magnification everywitng I created turns white but what I believe to be the actual grid line (I did not create any guide lines) becomes visible in blue (however this is only true for the vertical grid line). Yet it is not possible to align objecty perfectly with this grid line either. And as you can see the grid lines don't have the same width. This is not really an issue if the objects snap correctly but it looks like it could be related to this problem. In used Metal as a render engine. I also tried OpenGL, but the problem was not solved. I attached some screenshots (sorry for the ugly colored text) and a demo file so you can recreate the problem. So that leaves me with the question, is there anything I can do? If not it would be very important for me to have this problem fixed, since my work depends on this. Thanks in advance. Luca My setup: macOS 11.0.1 MacBook Pro (15 Inch, 2019) Processor: 2,6 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7 RAM: 16 GB 2400 MHz DDR4 Grafics: Radeon Pro 555X 4 GB Affinity Publisher 1.8.6 (also checked on 1.9.0.857) Demo File.afpub
  7. Hi, Does anyone know how I can align a nested object to it's parent's centre? For example I can align two objects that are not nested by selecting them both and setting align to "selection bounds" but I i want to align to the object that I am "inside of" this doesn't work...
  8. I *think* it may be to do with optical alignment but I can't work it out. Any ideas?
  9. Hi, I just purchased your complete Affinity series and am really happy with it so far. Although I just started working with it yesterday But I already encountered some small problems I can't solve myself. My most important question so far is about the alignment function. As a previous Adobe user I am used to be able to align two objects while one is staying in place. Using Affinity Designer I can't find a way to do that. Whenever I want to align two or more objects they all move and meet up in "the middle". With Adobe I was able to select multiple objects, then release the [Shift]-Key and klick on one of the selected objects. That object would then stay in it's place while all the other selected objects would align with it after clicking one of the [align]-buttons. Is there a way to do the same thing in Affinity Designer? Thank you very much in advance. Cheers, Michael
  10. Hello world, Does anyone know how to align a these circles on a path or stroke ? Thank you
  11. Hello Affinity, With the help of @Old Bruce I managed to copy circles on a path, and align the circles using the text tool. It is not as user-friendly to modify the space of the circles using the characters tracking. It is like a sort of a hack way to aligning shapes to paths. I thought it would be nice to add a separate feature for aligning shapes on paths. Also add the pattern feature too, so we don't manually repeat patterns. I know I ask too much but you guys are awesome. Thank you, text-path-align.afdesign
  12. Each Affinity software has alignment option which is great. But it'd be much better if we can have a separate panel for it which we can dock anywhere as we wish. Currently we've to click on the alignment icon each and every time when we need it, and that's kind of boring. What do you think friends?
  13. Hi, I've been working with Affinity Designer for a few weeks now. Coming from Adobe Suite CS6 there's is a lot I like about Affinity Designer, but also a few things that would make working in AD just that little bit better. One of those things is that Align and Distribute doesn't have its own panel. Maybe it Align and Distribute could be combined with the Transform panel (see image) ... or just could have a panel on it own. greetings, Ivo
  14. First of all, I find affinity designer awesome and I cannot wait to be able to completely switch from the bloated, overprice 'mud brick' rental packages. However for this to happen, I would need to have better vector graph alignment tools. In particular, I would need to be able to select a 'key object' that stays put while the other objects are aligned relative to the key object. Also, it would be great if one could select multiple nodes (inkl. a key node) and align them. The snapping function works great but sometimes it is just not enough... Anything like this planned anytime soon? Thanks Lars
  15. Dear support, I have installed AfD 1.8.3 and found out that if I select two or more object and go to the alignment icon, the Align to option is grey and not accessible. I need to click to a align icon at first and then Align to is accessible. I have Win 10 and I don't know if it is some kind of a new feature but it's annoying. The picture after click to alignment icon is attached. Thank you in advance for your reply. Kind regards, Roman
  16. Is there an easy way to center an image to the center of an artboard? I like to center it vertical and horizontal. I expected some aligning/snapping settings to apply. But that doesn't seem to do that. I've setup a document, type web. The image is inserted using File > Place.
  17. Hello, Happens in both Publisher 1.7.2.471, and Publisher BETA 1.7.3.475. Windows 10. Dell 7530 Precision laptop. Have come across a bug in my workflow when aligning and grouping the aligned items. I have attached 5 images to show the steps and results. Here is a step by step to reproduce: New document. Place 3 objects on the canvas. Select all three items Select the Alignment button at top middle of screen (above ruler) In the Align Horizontally section, select Selection Bounds Select Space Horizontally In the Align Vertically section, select Selection Bounds Select Align Middle Don't hit the OK button yet. Items are now aligned and spaced as expected. On the keyboard, group those items using Control-G Items jump back to original layout, unaligned and unspaced. Now hit the OK button. The unaligned and unspaced items now jump down the page and are Aligned Middle to the spread. It is step 10, Grouping the items before hitting the OK button to close the Alignment panel. Let me know if you need further explanation. Lynn
  18. Not sure if this is a bug per se, but the behavior definitely changed in the last release of AD as far as alignment goes. Say I want to align two objects on their left side. Expected behavior: AD ought to move the RIGHTMOST object so it aligns with the leftmost object. Current behavior: AD moves the LEFTMOST object to the rightmost object. Of course this same behavior should happen for top, bottom and right alignment as well. Thanks for all you do! AD 1.7 is a BEAST!
  19. In Affinity 1.6.7 and previous versions both the align and magnetic tools where in the top bar, now in 1.7 I cannot find it anywhere, I did find the align tool but sadly not as easily accessable as in the previous version where are my tools :( ?
  20. Hi, I would like to align (snap) to objects that have different angles. Basically I have a geometric figure (a triangle) and I would like to add a rectangle to its border, but I'm not able to match the angles. Any idea ? Thank you for your help
  21. I was wanting to align nodes, but there didn't seem to be an ability to align them relative to each other on the same curve. I have been using Inkscape, and I wanted to purchase Affinity designer, but there seems to be a few things that don't seem to be there that I wish there was, including the ability to align nodes. It would be nice if there was an "Insert node at middle point" to insert new nodes right between two existing nodes on the same curve. Is there any way to do this? Also, I find that manipulating nodes doesn't offer a lot of precise control. Is there a way to move bezier handles relative (exactly) to the x axis, y axis, or 45 degrees without it being in that position originally? Shift only constrains it to moving along the path it was already on... Which is useful, but sometimes I want it to be along the x axis instead, and there is not exact way of doing this it seems. Another thing... Is there an inset feature? It would be really handy to have, when you want to shrink something down, but not proportionally, so that it leaves the same amount of space around each side. Anyways, I'm just using the trial version to test it out before I actually buy it. I am currently really loving Affinity Designer, as it puts a lot of focus on making the designing experience as fluid and dynamic as possible, however it seems to be missing quite a few features that Inkscape has which is messing up my workflow and making me hesitant to purchase Affinity designer. I've only been using it for a few days so I could just be missing some things. Also, I am LOVING the drawing tool (SO much better than Inkscape's) but is there any way of modifying the pressure along the curve AFTER you have drawn it? Sometimes I draw it with my drawing tablet, but I mess up the pressure at a certain part, and I would just want a little more control over the dynamics of the curve. Thanks!
