  1. I'm seeing a problem when applying a live gaussian blur on a pixel layer that has non-default blend ranges. See attached file (edit the Gaussian Blur settings to see the problem). It also happens on v1. As soon as a non-zero live gaussian blur is attempted, the blend range is ignored. It looks like something similar or identical was reported in 2021 as afp-3062. Windows 10, seen on 2.1.0 (and also 1.10.5.1342). Seems to occur whether OpenCL is enabled or not. No problem if I do a destructive gaussian blur, however. blur-confusion.afphoto
  2. I was following a tutorial on YouTube on the Affinity Revolution channel which was to create realistic lipstick on a model using Affinity Photo. The process involved the following: Create a fill layer Set colour of layer to that of the lipstick colour you require Set layer blend mode to Multiply Hold down Alt and click on Mask icon to create mask Select brush and choose white paint Paint in the shape of the lips which will appear in the colour you chose earlier At this point, the lips are coloured, but have a very sharp edge to them, so we add a Gaussian blur as a child of the mask to blur the edges of the lipstick. This gives it a more natural/believable look. The next step is to use blend ranges to adjust the appearance of the lipstick, so it doesn't look like clown makeup! In the video they go in to blend ranges and drag the highlights marker on the right-hand panel towards the bottom. You set it based on the desired change to the appearance. However, when I do it, it has no affect. After experimenting, I realised that the Gaussian blur was disabling any effect that the blend ranges had. If I set the blend ranges first and can see the desired change, and then add the Gaussian blur, as soon as I set it to anything other than the starting value of 0px, the blend range changes are effectively disabled/ignored. The same can be witnessed if you set it all up and then disable/enable the Gaussian blur. You will see the blend range settings being applied and then removed. I am using version 1.8.5.703. Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks.
  3. AP beta 1.8.2.172 macOS 10.13.6 Blend Options are being ignored in the following situations which were not problematic in retail AP 1.7.3: 1. Blend Gamma and Underlying Composition Ranges of a vector object are ignored when a Live Filter is nested in the object or nested in a Pixel Mask that is nested in the object. (Source Layer Ranges is honoured, though.) 2. Blend Gamma, Source Layer Ranges and Underlying Composition Ranges of a Pixel object are ignored when a Live Filter is nested in the object or nested in a Pixel Mask that is nested in the object
  4. Not sure if this is a known thing or if I'm just seeing it for the first time. MacBook Pro, running OS 10.14.6. 32gb RAM, Affinity Photo 1.8.2. When blending a layer using "Blend Options" this layer's blend is ignored once a life filter (gaussian blur) is applied. Nothing I do seems to correct this. Also, if you click on "Preserve Alpha" then turn it off... it doesn't actually turn it off and remains as though it was still on. Thoughts?
