  1. I have been using the Affinity Photo & Affinity Designer betas in preference to the previous retail versions. Now that the latest retail versions have been released, I have deleted the betas but ~/Library/Containers still contains the com.seriflabs.affinitydesigner.beta & com.seriflabs.affinityphoto.beta folders with the usual Application Support, Preferences, etc. stuff. I know some of that like the caches & aliases no longer serve any purpose & can be deleted, but I am wondering if some of the *.propcol & *.dat files might be usable as replacements for the corresponding items in the retail updates. The reason I ask is I am hoping this would (for example) set the retail macros to be the same as in the beta. That would be useful because I added a few macros to the beta that were not added to the previous retail version.
  2. None of the apps currently does it, but Adobe’s apps do, and even OS X’s native screenshots tool (which is what I use in the example). To put it simply, dragging a shape (like an ellipse in Designer or a marquee in Photo) should draw it (just as it does now), but when pressing ␣ (space bar) dragging should switch to moving the shape around (only while the space bar is pressed).
  3. This happens with both betas (Affinity Designer Beta and Affinity Photo Beta) version To better understand the situation you should open System Preferences → Keyboard → Shortcuts. On the bottom, you’ll find two radio buttons for Full Keyboard Access: Text boxes and lists only All controls When the second one is selected, ⇥ behaves wrongly: when on any control that is not a text box, it stops cycling through controls and toggles hiding/showing the interface.
  4. Affinity Designer Beta (newest version) is telling me I need the App Store version of Affinity Designer when I try and open Beta. Then it takes me to the App Store. I already have the App store version since its inception (update newest version). How do I fix this problem so I can use the Beta. My App store version opens just fine.
  5. Hey guys, this is something I've noticed a few times. I believe mostly it's happened with duplicating text groups, but occasionally it's happened after ungrouping a group containing text layers. I do believe I may have resized some of these text groups using the scale transform selector at one time, but it seems like transformations should be retained when duplicating. affinity-font-duplicate.mov

    Open recent files menu

Hi! In the latest beta (, the open recent menu item also shows exported files formats rather than only native Affinity files. I hope this is a bug, not a feature. While I usually export my files in various formats, the native files are quickly outnumbered from the latests items, making that menu item not so useful (see attachment). In AD 1.2, the menu shows also non-native files that were imported, which is kind of more relevant. Thanks, /Miro
  7. First, I want to let you know that I purchased a copy of Affinity Designer from the App store this morning. I love this program. I only wish that you had released it earlier so I could have avoided spending $80 for Sketch 3 in June, but this is one of those events in life that is out of my control. It's great to own a vector program that is stable and isn't buggy. Now, my question is when will the beta versions stop working? I own a MacBook and an iMac. I have installed Affinity on my MacBook, but also need to use it on my iMac. I plan to purchase a second license, but it would be great if I could get another month to use the beta. Thanks again for the great product and making it affordable.
