  1. Hey guys, so i want to make a wallpaper for my friend and i need help setting up the document size. I don't want to end up making such a big file that it can't be emailed to my friend. But at the same time i don't want to work on something that's too small and risk quality loss. For example if i open up a new document and make it 2560 x 1600 pixels (my friends display size) it just seems like it would be too big to email. maybe i'm wrong though. Is this the best size? Also should i select Web document? Any help is appreciated.
  2. Hey guys, i've been making some designs on affinity designer that i want to make into stickers some day. I've made about 4 or 5 of them but now i realize that i may have made em just a tad small. most are 7 in wide by 3 in tall. i think one or two may be 7.5 x 3 in. Anyways now im learning that these types of rectangular sticker designs would be best if they were 8 x 3 in. My question is what is the best way to resize em? would i need to start all over? should i just stretch em with a loss in quality? is there even a way to resize them without opening a new file in the correct sizing and then copying and pasting my old design onto it? -thanks in advance my fellow Affinity users.
  3. All Affinity products do not properly display and edit the Thai language. I don't use Design or Photo with much Thai, but Publisher will be used with Thai a lot. For me, it's not usable right now. When will that be supported?
  4. None of the Affinity products support writing and editing in the Thai language. I'm a missionary in Thailand and need to use the Thai language in many items. When will this be supported?
  5. Pretty much whenever I attempt to use Brushes in pixel mode, I get major major lag in performance, like 5 or more seconds sometimes, between when I draw and when the results appear on the screen. The problem seems to be more severe when using custom brushes, or the default included brushes when the width is increased to very large. I also get performance issues when I switch the blend mode from "Normal" to something like "Multiply". As far as I know, I have a pretty good computer - I've attached a few screenshots of the specs. I've also tried changing the "Performance" configurations but have yet to improve this lag. I've also tried closing running processes and applications. Am I missing something here. My computer is super fast with regards to software development but I'm new to doing graphics related things so I'm uncertain if there's hardware that I'm lacking. Thanks, Andrew

  8. There was a suggestion of the Affinity Facebook page that I might make a tutorial on my 'Steam radio' AD job (see the link below). I thought about it and decided ... not to. But here are a couple of the things in afdesign format for you to look at. I'm sure you can work out how everything was done, and you can always ask if there's something not self-explanatory. Here is the left-hand valve/tube ... valve1.afdesign And here is the steam engine ... engine.afdesign I do need to add a brief explanation for this one ... The stationary flywheel spokes ('spokes (Curves)' layer) is turned off. I made the 'motion blur (Pixel)' layer by going to File/Edit in Photo, then rasterizing the layer and applying a radial blur. I did something similar with the connecting rod.
