  1. There is a conflict in the modifier shortcuts while using a vector pen/brush. In earlier versions you could press CTRL to use the Node tool add some nodes. Now pressing CTRL will default to the break curve option (shortcut, according to the lower screen info panel, is CTRL - click). To access the node tool you need to press CTRL while in vector pen (that's the modifier key to access Node tool), but there's no ADD node option available anymore because you're already pressing the shortcut of break curve. To add a node you need to select the actual node tool which is cumbersome. I assume it is unintended change, because the info panel still gives the right sort of info what keys to press etc.
  2. This is a known bug on the Windows version of Designer that has not been addressed for a while yet there is a simple solution: The bug/issue: The Control key on Windows is the modifier used to access the node tool while the pen tool is active - When using this modifier, you are presented with some shortcuts, one of which is the option to Click to create a new node on the curve; In order to create a new node on the curve while you are in the node modifier within the pen tool, you are directed to just click anywhere on the curve, but this action results in the deletion of that segment - The reason for this behavior is that there is another modifier shortcut which is Click + Ctrl to delete segment ; Because you are already holding the control key to temporarily access the node tool, a click results in the segment being deleted instead of a new node being added along the curve: The fix: Click + Alt is being used to straighten to line; Click + Control is being used to delete segment; Click + Shift is currently not being used while in the node modifier from the pen tool and the shift key has always been associated with adding something so it is a very natural shortcut for the operation; If the Click + Shift to create a new node on the curve shortcut is implemented, this is how it would work - After drawing a curve with your pen tool you would press and hold control to activate the node tool modifier, then you would hold shift as well - Now you are pressing both the control & shift keys - Just click anywhere along the curve to create a new node on the curve - Attached is an image showing that the Click + Shift shortcut is not currently being used while in the node tool modifier -
  3. In the previous versions of Designer it was possible to add nodes on curves on the fly while drawing with the pen tool, by pressing ctrl and hence temporarly converting the pen tool to the nodes tool. Currently (1.9) pressing ctrl while drawing curves with the pen tool temporarly activates the nodes tool but with the function to delete portions (small X icon close to the cursor), even if in the bottom bar it says that clicking one should be able to add nodes. Please go back to the previous behaviour, thanks.
  4. I noticed that when holding control while using the pen tool instead of being able to add new nodes to a path it now deletes the segment. I think this is because holding control while using the pen tool activates the node tool and the node tool has a hold control and click to delete segment now. So holding control while using the pen tool is activating the node tool then inadvertently activating the delete option.
  5. I don't think this is a bug but I have a complaint about it. Prior to 1.9.0, you could easily snap the node end to the curves of another object, now the node goes over the edge and does not snap accurately. Also when you're using pen tool, and you hold ctrl it deletes the line instead of adding a new point like it used to. It would be nice if we could choose in settings if we wanted to keep the pre 1.9.0 pen tool, it's very much interfering with my usual workflow.
