  1. Hi Affinity, I'm hitting a pretty breaking bug with just moving objects. Basically the setup is, 1. I created a symbol from a group (an iPhone status bar, white, groups lots of objects) 2. I duplicated the group 3. I detached the group in the Symbol panel 4. I modified the group (with a black color overlay) 5. I created a new symbol from the second group However, now I'm in a breaking state. The bug is: Repro (after the earlier steps): 1. Move either the white or black symbol instance. (Alternatively, create a new white or black symbol instance and then move that.) Result: 1. Some of the subobjects — always the same three rasterized rectangles — suddenly "disappear" in BOTH the white and black symbol instances (which should not be linked) 2. Checking the X and Y coordinates of the disappeared layers shows they've been moved to something like 50000px off screen. I'm attaching a design file where this reproes. My machine setup: - Affinity Designer 1.8.4 (updated from App Store today; reproed before and after update) - macOS Mojave 10.14.4 (can't upgrade because I rely on several 32-bit applications that will never be 64-bit) - lots of hard disk space and RAM - reproes after restarting the machine and with nothing else running 2020-08-10-affinity-designer-insane-move-bug.afdesign
  2. I have 3 super annoying issues I keep having in AD, even after upgrading to iPad Pro, 2018. 1. When I have an image/pixel based icon I’m using for a repeat; If I have the original on the left edge, and duplicate and try to move that duplication across the canvas to the right edge, it moves both icons, even when only the duplicate is selected. It will move the original off to the center of the canvas, while moving the duplicate where I want it. This happens when I try to move the duplication from left to right. Oddly though, not right to left movements. 2. Another annoying bug, I find when using pixel based icons, is, say I have dropped in my asset that is pixel based, I resize it and position it in the middle of my canvas. Now I want to duplicate that icon and place it on another part of my canvas. So I select it and duplicate. Once I select my duplication in my layers panel and drag it to another area, it will again move both icons when only one icon was selected. My work around this particular issue is never duplicate a pixel icon that is placed on my canvas, I can only drop in a “new” asset and resize. Its more work, but it works. 3. The last annoying pixel bug in AD I’ve found is, say I finally get my pixel icons in the correct positions on my edges, I now group them in my layers. Say, I want to adjust their position slightly for a better balance later on. If I select that group and make any sort of position adjustments, it will move any or all icons in all sorts of directions off my canvas. Sometimes they just disappear entirely. So when working in pixels in AD, if my edges are grouped, I am forced to commit and never move them again, ever. But if I’m using 100% vector icons, I never have any of these issues. video shows the first 2 of the issues in action. I could not get the 3rd bug recorded in this pattern. IMG_0487.MP4
  3. When following the steps to make a repeated pattern (see link: https://affinityspotlight.com/article/create-repeat-patterns-with-a-live-pattern-preview-in-affinity-designer-for-ipad/) The step: 'Fill the edges goes wrong'. When typing -2000 or +2000 the selected object and the original object (unselected) dissapear from the canvas en end op random anywhere outside the screen. For mysterious reasons, this does not happen all the time. Therefor is is not possible to create a repeated pattern as described in this link. Would this me a bug or is there something I do wrong? "Repeat the same process around the edges of the canvas. Since you type +2000 on the X-axis to move something to the right, you’ll type -2000 to move something to the left. Things you need to move up and down rather than left to right can be adjusted on the Y-axis. If you put something on the corner, it has to be duplicated three times, then moved to each of the four corners using the Transform Tool."
  4. Hello All, I have an issue when creating a repeat pattern using a raster object. When the original object is on the left side of my art board and I duplicate it to copy it to the right side, when I only select the duplicate to move, both objects move. This happens without fail every time I work with a raster object when creating a repeat pattern. However, if the original object is on the RIGHT side of my art board, and I duplicate it, then move the duplicate to the LEFT, only the selected object moves (as it should). I have a video showing the issue. This also get super frustrating when I have to duplicate an object more than once if I am working with a half drop repeat. One of the 3 objects will always move out of place, when only one is selected in my layers. I also find that affinity will crash on me during my process for no apparent reason if I am using raster images. It will also crash when I try to export my art board. I find that I have to group all my raster object together then copy and paste on to a new document before it will allow me to export without crashing. None of these issues occur when I use a vector object. OUWRE7773.MOV
  5. In the GIF I am duplicating the Red Square (which has some stripes clipped within it) by holding down Ctrl + Shift. Along the way stray objects get picked up because Shift is adding to the selection, and Ctrl is selecting objects nested within the parent shapes - this is not desirable but at least makes sense! After a while all the nested shapes move, leaving (apparently) empty squares - this is mystifying. Why does it affect all the duplicates? They are not Symbols, yet all are simultaneously affected in the same way. Affinity Bug Shift Ctrl Drag Clipped Shape.afdesign
