I've seen several issues with changes within a symbol not propagating to other instances of the symbol. I'm not sure if it is because of multiple bugs, or they are just different manifestations of the same bug. But here's what I'm seeing specifically right now: I have a compound shape within a symbol. When I change the operation, the change is not propagated to the other instance(s), even though other changes are. I've attached a screen recording to demonstrate. symbol-compound-bug.mov
When I create a subtract compound inside an existing symbol it’s not being propagated on other instances of the symbol.
I had a button/icon defined as a symbol. It's a filled circle with a white shapes on top. I used it everywhere but decided I wanted to try it in a different colour on an other artboard, without changing the other artboards. To change the fill and not the Icon I wanted to create a compound, so I could re-color the symbol without losing the shapes/icon on the circle. When I selected the layers inside the symbol and converted them to a compound, not each instance of the symbol had the same change. They DID all change into a compound but when I selected the shapes inside the compound to
I've come across a little bug where compound objects don't update symbols. If you create a compound object symbol and change the geometry operation (add, subtract, etc) then it will not sync to the other symbols.
