I try to place the attached file into a Designer document and it gets cut off. I see online that others have had similar problems with Designer importing SVG files in the past. Has there been no solution? 20170321 D170215.svg
Hi. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, I apologise if it's not. I got Affinity Designer a few weeks ago, I used it to edit and make a few flags. Now when I open them, they are missing some core features. This flag is missing the Saint Patrick's cross, which is the red X, in the middle of the Union Jack, to the bottom right. It's like this in the UK flag, Australian flag, etc. It didn't use to do this, I'm not sure why now. They don't appear like this in the browser. Attached you can find, the UK flag, and the flag in the screenshot. Please can I have some help? Thank you. Flag_of_the_United_Kingdom (3).svg USERUK.svg
After importing a simple SVG file in Designer, the flag of GB from Wikipedia is destroyed. Look at the missing red stripes. The svg opens fine in any mayor browser, but not in Affinity Designer. There's nothing strange or complex inside the svg, just some <path>s and a simple <clipPath>, so Designer should be able to open thisone without any problems. File in attachment is taken from this url on wikipedia: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/ae/Flag_of_the_United_Kingdom.svg Flag_of_the_United_Kingdom.svg And this is everything there is inside the svg: <svg xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" viewBox="0 0 60 30" width="1200" height="600"> <clipPath id="t"> <path d="M30,15 h30 v15 z v15 h-30 z h-30 v-15 z v-15 h30 z"/> </clipPath> <path d="M0,0 v30 h60 v-30 z" fill="#00247d"/> <path d="M0,0 L60,30 M60,0 L0,30" stroke="#fff" stroke-width="6"/> <path d="M0,0 L60,30 M60,0 L0,30" clip-path="url(#t)" stroke="#cf142b" stroke-width="4"/> <path d="M30,0 v30 M0,15 h60" stroke="#fff" stroke-width="10"/> <path d="M30,0 v30 M0,15 h60" stroke="#cf142b" stroke-width="6"/> </svg> Even Internet Explorer 9, which is stone age, 7,5 years old (!!), not supported by Microsoft and webdevelopers anymore, and the most problematic browser by far, can open this file without any problem. Please Affinity, fix these kind of things. This is basic stuff!!!
Hi, Came across something interesting: AD seems to have a problem with a Freemind SVG export. Just to check I loaded the SVG into another SVG capable program (Artboard), and that seemed fine after ungrouping the import. That suggests the issue is not the SVG file but rather what Affinity Designer does with it. Please find attached 1 - a Freemind file (made with version 1.1.0 beta 2) 2 - a screenshot of what it looks like on screen in Freemind itself 3 - the exported SVG of that file 4 - a screenshot of what Artboard makes of that SVG file 5 - a screenshot of what Affinity Designer makes of it. (and yes, I know there is a spelink misteake in it :) ) It appears somewhere along the line something goes awry.. Cheers! AD demo.mm.zip AD demo.svg
