  1. If importing a Word file, Word's built-in Normal style (German: Standard) becomes [No Style] in Publisher. It does not matter if the text is short or long. Other styles work, even headings. The workaround: Don't use Word's built-in Normal style for body copy, invent your own name. This bug has been around for some time, now. I think it should be killed. :-) To illustrate what I mean, I've enclosed a short example file. Funnily enough, in older versions of QuarkXPress such as 2015, you would experience the same bug. So, for DTP programs, it seems to be difficult handling the Normal style, properly. Kind regards Johann ShortExample.docx
  2. Importing a Word document into APub now seems to work quite nicely, even paragraph and character styles are preserved. Well done! However, Word's default paragraph style Normal becomes [No Style] which means: You can't edit it any more. It is lost! I ask you to kill this bug and maybe map Normal to, well, Normal. Thanks. Workaround: Name your body copy paragraphs differently, a workaround I'm using with QuarkXPress which also seems to have a Normal style importing weakness.
