  1. Hey everyone, This is a bit niche and I have not checked if a topic like this already exists. What I'm looking for is a compatibility guide with workarounds for creating macros. For the past few days I have been trying to create macros but keep getting stuck because its so unbelievably cumbersome. One big PIA is the level selection. It’s a mess with all its confirmation prompts – just select the damn level I clicked on already! Anyway, I already got used to that by now, that’s not the issue. These two are my current questions, and I haven’t found a solution for it, maybe some of you have ideas? Creating a fill layer and changing its colour It's just not possible, you'll get this warning and the colour will be reset: Select all (as in an unspecified number) layers (to group them or similar) There's no keyboard shortcut or menu item that does this, as far as I know. Anyway, for some reason I didn't notice the option in the menu. It even has a shortcut! 🤦‍♂️ Solution: Select → Select all Layers or ⌥⌘A Do you have similar questions? Is there maybe already a place where questions like these get asked and answered? Does someone know how to get these operations to work or how to work around them? Have a nice weekend Dennis
  2. Hello. Purchased all 3 of your products from you during the Black Friday sale. The purpose of the purchase was to give up Photoshop completely. Please help me understand how advanced, modern and up to date your program is for many of your users! How can I install scripts and actions from photoshop cc? I have a huge need to run on your program exactly Photoshop scripts and actions (.ath .jsx .pat .tpl .abr). There is no information on this topic anywhere (or I didn't look hard enough). Please help me to run Photoshop scripts and actions on your program (windows 10)!
  3. Hello Affinity community, I am new to the Affinity suite (and mainly a musician designing my stuff as a sideline) so please forgive if I ask a simple or stupid question. After researching many hours I found the perfect looking 2 fonts for my image / brand. Now I want to make the logos and pictures I create look old, vintage, scratchy. After another long research I stumbled upon fontscafe.com and they have exactly what I need: Adjustable scratch patterns. https://fontscafe.com/font/vintage-photoshop-action-10-different-patterns Here is the tutorial showing it's use: https://fontscafe.com/cafearea/vintage-photoshop-action-create-vintage-look-one-click including this short demonstration / explanation video: Youtube Tutorial Wow, killer, just what I have been searching for a long time. Sadly this is originally for Photoshop. My question(s): Can I use this in Affinity Photo (or Designer or Publisher)? Or can I somehow convert this? Or is there a similar product / option / possibility within the Affinity suite? Thank you so much for your help, Andi
  4. Is it possible to set brush opacity + brush flow with an Affinity Photo action or with a keyboard shortcut? This enables a quicker workflow if one can just toggle between e.g. 20% opacity 20% flow and then go back to 100% opacity 100% flow without having to change it every time manually. Thank you for your advice how to do this or to take the time to add it to your feature request list. 😃
  5. I know this feature has been requested before (macros/actions), but it's not quite there yet for my needs. With the 1.5 update, Affinity Photo does have a basic macro recording function now, but it still does not eliminate the need for Photoshop from my workflow until I can assign custom keyboard shortcuts to the macros for rapid playback! I've been very impressed with Affinity Photo so far, and I really want to see it become a "Photoshop Killer"! I work in entertainment press photography, and we typically edit around 100-200 photos a night from an average movie premiere/event, or up to 1000 photos from a major awards show. We work at a rapid pace and on very tight deadlines, so speed is critical. My typical workflow in Photoshop ... - I need to be able to eyeball every single photo in a set and make rapid corrections with a series of keyboard shortcuts. Batch processing might work for some jobs, but looking at every single photo to make adjustments quickly is also frequently needed. - I usually open 200 photos in Photoshop at a time (Photoshop's limit) in a cascading stack, then do corrections to levels, sharpness, and maybe slight color correction if needed. - Save/close the file as JPEG 8, 300dpi at 3000x2000 px (Saved while closing the file with COMMAND-W on Mac) - Repeat until I'm done with all 200, and then work on an addition 200 files if needed - Then caption all the photos with the name of the person/people using Photo Mechanic What I would love to see in Affinity Photo is the same rapid editing ability that Photoshop has. For example, I would love to be able to assign a keyboard shortcut to macros/actions that do something like the following: CTRL-SHIFT-F1 - Auto Brightness/Contrast CTRL-SHIFT-F2 - Brighten 10% CTRL-SHIFT-F3 - Brighten 20% CTRL-SHIFT-F4 - Auto Color Temp CTRL-SHIFT-F5 - De-Orange CTRL-SHIFT-F6 - De-Blue CTRL-SHIFT-F7 - Auto Sharpen CTRL-SHIFT-F8 - Sharpen 10% CTRL-SHIFT-F9 - Sharpen 20% CTRL-ALT-L - Last Used Level Adjustment CTRL-ALT-C - Last Used Color Correction CTRL-ALT-U - Last Used Sharpness Adjustment I think you get the idea :-) Another feature I would love to see is IPTC data creation/editing (or even basic awareness, passthrough). It's not an absolute must for me, since I use Photo Mechanic, which does an amazing job. However, I would not like to have a situation pop up where maybe I need to go back and do a quick edit to a file that has already been captioned in Photo Mechanic, but Affinity Photo doesn't save the existing IPTC data that's already in the file (ie. strips that info out). That would be "no bueno"! Thanks for listening!
  6. I dunno where these guys came from, but I wouldn't mess with them if I were you. Especially her on the right.
  7. For this to work well for me, I need it to be able to run a script that quickly addresses some common multi step processes I have. Otherwise it is too time consuming and fidgety
  8. Good evening, I'm trying to record a macro, but it does not enter text in action
  9. If I want to move an object down or up in the hierarchy of the Layers panel I can use CTRL+[ or ]. But what if I want to move it out of a group/symbol/layer? The only way is to use the "release" action, right? Is there a "release" action keyboard shortcut?
  10. Are there actions in Affinity Designer? If so, what are they called or what are they under in the menu?
  11. Anyone know of a workflow in Affinity photo that would facilitate making isometric, extruded rendering of otherwise flat objects, such as accomplished with this kind of photoshop action?
  12. With the new release of AF macro in AF photo, I think it would be really cool to have an ability to convert Photoshop actions to affinity ones. I don't know how you would do this, and I don't know if its even possible, but hey, its just a request :D
  13. Is very useful the possibility with shortcup (in corel CTRL+R) to repeat last action, fill, move and more.
  14. Hi! I have some awesome actions and presets that I used to apply in photoshop is there a way to use it in AP too? (Your beta is awesome btw, thank you SO much)
