  1. Hello people. I created this project using the affinity designer. Hope you like it https://www.behance.net/gallery/86462907/WhatsApp-Redesign
  2. Hi, I'm currently working on a new site for my business using Wix, and they have a feature that let's you change the fill color of an SVG. This is great because it means I don't need to color match everything and upload dozens of assets of the same thing. I was working in Illustrator on a different computer that exported the files with the correct code (I guess) to allow the SVG color to be changed - but when I got home and started using Affinity, the exports were locked to their export color. I've opened both in a text editor and it looks like chalk and cheese, and I don't really know how to make the Affinity exports include the "dynamic fill" code. Both exports are considered "default" for each app. Does anyone know how to make this happen? Example of affinity and illustrator exports attached. Thanks, IllustratorExport.svg AffinityExport.svg
  3. Please also add the possibility to create a new document (File > New) based on the clipboard size (in pixels). This is very useful to quickly annotate images or edit them from online sources. It basically removes the step to crop/ resize the image after pasting.

  5. Hello, I need to create a mask image but with a border colored, also the image need to be dynamic so my client can change it but keep the mask.. But when I try to put it with the program I use for web development, it's not working. I know that I am making something wrong with the design part. This is the final result I am trying to achieve with elementor : this is the form of the mask : but when I export it in svg or png I get this : or that if I put a pixel mask : please someone have any idea ? :)
  6. Hi So I've watched a few YouTube videos and have a pretty good idea how symbols work, but they're working in a different way than I need. Is what I'm trying to achieve possible? If so, how am I using Symbols incorrectly? What I'm trying to do: I have created a 'standard' button, to be used throughout the web app I'm designing, but also a smaller one for a mobile web app version. In both cases it's a rounded rect, with a text on top, which has a pre-defined Text Style. My issue is that I want to be able to change the look of all the buttons in one go i.e. size, shape, colour etc, HOWEVER, each button's text is unique. I do NOT want the text to be common across all of these button symbols. Yes, the font colour, style and positioning (central to it's button 'shape') but NOT the text characters themselves. Is this even possible or am I using symbols incorrectly? Thanks
  7. I miss some features when creating icons for websites: Ability to set CSS classes or option to use the layer name as class instead of id Option to save SVGs with style attributes instead of inline CSS (then you don't have to use "!important" all over the place to change colors) Don't write a "rect" element in SVGs for the artboard if the artboard has no background color Option to automatically round artboard position and size because decimals led to weird problems for me in the past (like the exported file having the wrong size because the position was a decimal) Option to optimize SVGs. I use SVGO at the moment but it's not easy to set it up so that it preserves IDs or classes
  8. I am not sure whether this is the right forum for this, but I haven't found one feature which I have used often in Photoshop or even PS Elements, which is what I could afford. Anyway; if I make an illustration for print, I often want to make a copy optimized for web, but if I use Resize Image in Affinity Photo (on the iPad as well as on the iMac) I don't get an optimized result, only a copy which looks like one with poorer quality. Now, the way I learnt to do it in Photoshop, is as follows: 1. Open the Resize Image dialogue box and deselect Resample Image. 2.Resize image from 300 dpi to 72 dpi - image dimensions (Document size) increases in pixels or millimeters or whatever you choose. 3. Reselect Resample Image and set the desired dimensions and click OK 3. Choose Saw For Web, select location and save. Et voilá! You will have a lighter low res copy which will look just as sharp and pristine on the web as the hi res print version. (I'll attach screenshots to help explaining. Does this exist in Affinity Photo or if not, is it on the roadmap?
  9. Hello everyone, From today i believe i have to start sharing few of our design works (actually i'm working alone but i do build a team from time to time depending on project size ) Most of our client/requesters are Church based and we really enjoy doing stuffs for them but what you will se here is more about Smarty Studio standing with other studio/teams together into what is to become Congolese Design Style. Well each country have it's own style of design but Congo doesn't have a proper thus most of Congolese designers simply clone/copy styles from everywhere. This is a beginning, please your inputs on each design palet/kit will be of great help and will help us improving better. Blessings !
  10. Hello everyone, I recently purchased some fonts and in one of the font families I have both Desktop Fonts and Web Fonts When I want to add both types of a single font it says that they are duplicates. 1) even though one extension is .ttf and the other .otf 2) even if I change the file name of one of the files (so that both the file name and the extension is different) I still get the same problem Is there a way to have both a Desktop and a Web version of the same font? I need the Web for designing websites (obviously ) but I would like to take advantage of the ligatures and other versions of some letters that the font designers have designed for print and avertising applications and I do need the Desktop .otf version as well. Thanks in advance! Best Regards Boyan
  11. When exporting svg files for web all the styles are inline per element, which unnecessarily increases file size and customization difficulty. In general it would be very useful to define style rules as an independent dataset. While working with the document changing a property of a style rule (class) would affect all elements assigned the respective class. Additionally, it would be extremely useful to add custom attributes to elements: data-custom-attr="whatever I want here" for web usage. Without these features supported, every modification to the svg file within Designer requires a lot of time-consuming manual correction post export.
  12. coming from adobe photoshop save for web feature, where we could visualize the various adjustments in real-time when optimizing images for use on websites, is there a similar workflow in Affinity photo?
  13. There is a long and old thread on this topic already, but I'm not convinced its been getting any attention, so I'm starting a new topic because this problem is infuriating. 2020, and still having the same blurry images problem. There is something weird about the way Affinity is handling pixels. I don't know how to explain this, but when you use different resolutions in photoshop the zoom ratios when working with the image are different-100% at 300 dpi is way bigger than 100% at 72 dpi. When you do it in Affinity they are all the same across the board. 300 dpi looks the same as 72 dpi. Its infuriating. I'm trying to make web graphics and no matter what resolution I create them at they come out looking blurry AF at small pixel sizes. For example, I'm trying to upload a logo at 150 px by 150 px. 300 dpi looks exactly the same as 72 dpi. Like, really blurry. Like someone who has never touched graphics software before in their life created them. I've been doing this for almost 20 years now. Usually, in Photoshop if you create your file at the size you need for application it comes out clear, that doesn't seem to happen in Affinity. I can't afford Photoshop, but these results are completely unprofessional. I've even tried going back to my designer files and scaling them down, wondering if anti-aliasing in AffinityPhoto was a factor, but it makes no difference. Is Affinty EVER going to address this? HOW do you make crisp web image files with Affinity???
  14. I have recently become aware of the ability to animate SVG (Affinity Designer) for the web. There are applications coming out that make it really easy, however, the file size is a serious problem if you intend to have your work in a web page as Affinity does not offer the reduction of file size. Here is a youtube video I made on 09/03/2018. It is impressive what one can achieve. This is a concept for a web homepage. If you look closely there is some really subtle animation. The balloon has a flame which gets turned on and off to make it rise, the balloon also changes size in that as it moves away into the air it gets smaller. The clouds in places are semi-transparent. Also, the sun has a haze around it which disperses as the sun bets higher in the sky. All these really subtle changes make for huge file sizes. One online SVG animator which is still in beta is svgator.com which is free but limited. I have included a file of a puppy wagging its tail and turning its head which I animated in svgator. Just drag the (1A 76 questioning puppy.svg) file onto a web browser and it will automatically play and is on infinite loop. You have to export the files as an SVG from Affinity Designer and then upload that file into the svgator system. The head, body and tail have to be different and separate files to be able to animate them: i.e. the head would be nested in affinity designer the body would be nested and so would the tail. Exported as SVG and then imported to your animator of choice and there are many out there some free. 1A 76 questioning puppy.svg
  15. Maybe this is just a problem with my browser (Chrome), but it looks funny with the title "Graphics redefined" :-)
  16. Hello, I would like to know how I can add code insertion such as web languages to Affinity Publisher? Because I have to prepare the tutorials for the creative guides for my clients. Thank you very much, Best regards
  17. Hi, When I create a 'web' type document in document setup and click 'ok' I always get a 'print' type document.
  18. The one thing that stops Affinity Designer from being the perfect tool for UI design for me is the lack of an ability to set up a guide layout. There is almost this functionality in the grid set up options, just without the ability to make grid tiles the full height of the artboard and add a default margin on the left/right/top/bottom independent of the gutter. The ability to save a guide layout preset in the Guide Manager and load it up in future documents has been mentioned previously, and this is potentially another great way to solve the problem, so +1 to that idea too. My issue is just that when setting up a new document I need to be able to quickly set up the bootstrap grid as guides before I start. My current workaround is to set up the guides in a document and use that as a template for any web UI work I need to do. Please consider adding a Guide Layout feature and/or Custom Guide Presets (honestly the Guides Manager is currently brilliant, it just needs extending). I'm so very close to being able to replace PS/AI with AF. Cheers
  19. It would be nice if there was a way for Affinity to built animation and even export to MP4, GIF or better pure HTML/JS/CSS (SVG) to use on websites. The web keeps getting better and better, but the creative animation tools for the web are limited. There are a few tools if you search for it, but its subscription-based or only available for Mac. I'm not asking for After Effects or other Cinema/Cinematic tools. Just key-frame based Vector animation that we can export to GIF/HTML-CSS/MP4. What do you guys think? Anyone else thinks Affinity Designer can really use some modern, innovative Animation tools?
  20. For many years, I used PagePlus in its various developments, and produced magazines and a newspaper with it. My cricket club has a website provided by the ECB in the form of newick.play-cricket.com I was looking for Serif's WebPlus system and found it was no longer being produced. Is there anything produced by Serif that I can build a website with that will mimic the PlayCricket site and be as user-friendly as PagePlus??
  21. Hello, As said in the title, the export of the software does not offer a web format (html5 + CSS3) This could be a very good thing for brochures, documents, books that will only be used on websites. This format could for example be in the form of a pack containing the index.html page + the CSS3 style page + the multimedia folder containing the images, sounds, videos. Thank you.
  22. Hi, I will like to see a slice tool feature that will allow me to slice my my designs and create html table. This will allow me to create html contents from my images/designs and also create hyperlinks. Where every slice will be a row or column in a table(tr/td). and each section of the slice can hold a hyperlink and more. It will now introduce export for web, which will create a html file with an inline css export to use for development. This will stop me from switching apps and will take AD/AP/Publisher to the next level to support web and see a good feature to support ux/ui design in prototyping And maybe later add a responsive feature to the slices made. Thanks Affinity team Please look at this. @MEB @Mark Ingram @stokerg @Sean P @TonyB
  23. Hi and apologies for not using Affinity for a while now. Busy looking for work. Trying to again get off the Olde Adobe Reliance. An old workflow for JPEG web output I've always used, is a targeted KB size output, found (in CS6) under SAVE FOR WEB > OPTIMIZE [sic] TO FILE SIZE … Does AP have a similar feature? I can't find something you can dial in. Best
  24. Is it possible to add compatibility with SVGO https://jakearchibald.github.io/svgomg/ It is the most popular SVG optimizer for the web. Exported SVG files would be a way lighter. And it would be good to have a checkbox for exporting inline styles as classes it is useful for colorizing SVG using JS or CSS.
  25. There is inconsistency in the colour rendering between what is viewed on screen (2017 MacBook pro – calibrated) and some of the default pdf export options. I have tested this on the defaults for PRINT, WEB and FLATTEN. The document is set up as CMYK and the placed image is also set as CMYK – as are all the colours used in the document. The image enclosed here is a screen capture of the Publisher working document. WYO-AS-Screen Capture.pdf
