  1. Is there any way to set the Move tool "arrow" tool (v) as default instead of the hand tool or view tool (H). Normally you just use space bar to move around using the hand tool, for easy work flow you want to be able to edit right away when opening a file etc. and for that the select tool off course needs to be default (exactly as in Photo shop)
  2. Normally, I can press spacebar to activate the view tool (the hand tool) temporarily. How can I do that while entering text within a text frame? I couldn’t find a way to create a new shortcut for that in Preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts.
  3. (EDIT) (I just heard that this might be a feature that i didn't know. Apparently, if you let go from the space bar while still holding mouse on a shape, the view tool will get locked for some reason. This topic might be in the wrong place now, since I don't know how I can delete this.) Hi! I have an extremely annoying problem with the Designer. My workflow includes a lot of panning around my document using the View tool with my space bar. Designer should reset to the previous tool when I let go the spacebar, right? Well, in my case the View tool gets stuck especially when moving shapes using Move tool and panning my document frequently. This bug came with one of the latest updates, since it wasn't around a while ago. This drives me crazy and my workflow nearly impossible. I have this problem in both of my two Macs: 13-inch late 2013 Macbook Pro, 10.11.6 El Capitan 15-inch mid 2014 Macbook Pro, 10.12.3 Sierra Using the latest Affinity Designer version 1.5.4. Thanks for the support, - Elias Salonen
  4. Sometimes when I am in the View Tool (Hand) and want to use a different tool, selecting the tool or my short cut for a tool does not respond no matter how long I try to change tools. In the past I have quit Designer and started again. This time I tried turning on "Use SHFT modifier to cycle tools" in the Tools Preference pane. This did the trick. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a better way of correcting it?
  5. In Affinity Photo while working on an an image, I'm not able to pan the image using the View (hand) tool while zoomed in. I'm trying to follow one of Drippy Cat's Tutorials, using a DNG file he provides. This is not specific to this file though. Once I have several layers, after zooming in, the Hand tool ceases to work. To reproduce, open an image, duplicate the background, for a base layer to start with your processing. Rename it if you wish. Apply a Layer Blend Mode to the duplicated layer (base). Per the tutorial I applied Soft Light. Adjust Opacity to taste. Apply a Layer Mask Paint out areas (Basic, Large, Soft Brush) Adjust Opacity Rename Right-Click to Merge Visible. At this time I was zoomed in to the image, using the Zoom Tool (Z) and my pen tablet, dragging to zoom in/out. I tried to move/Pan the image and the View tool (hand) would not respond. I can not move the document/image. I've tried this with my mouse as well as my pen tablet (Wacom Intuos 3 Small). I can do other things, change tools, but can not pan. If I save and then close the document, then reopen, the view tool works again.
  6. I use Affinity Photo 1.7.0 for Mac OS and the view tool is constantly hanging. By that I mean that once I use the view tool, I cannot switch to any other tool no matter what. I have to save and close my file and then open it again to get out of the view tool. This happens at random intervals, but is guaranteed to happen every time I use AF. I find this to be a major productivity obstacle. The previous version did this too sometimes, but the upgrade has made it much worse. Is anyone else experiencing this?
  7. When you click on a macro in your Library palette A. Photo always switches to the View tool (the hand) afterwards. This is really not what I usually want. Almost every time I want to use the Move tool. So every time I use a macro I have to manually press V or click on the Move tool icon. It kind of disrupts the flow. Please make it customizable which tool will be activated after clicking a macro. For example, you could add support for tool switching to the Macro editor (so activating any tool would be registered as a step). Or make the program remember the last active tool before using a macro. Or at the very least change the default automatic switching from View tool to Move tool. Similarly I would prefer the Move tool to be activated after I have created a new document. Now it also defaults to the View tool. I can easily navigate the view with the Move tool but I cannot select and manipulate objects on canvas with the View tool. So the Move tool is much more useful as a default. Thank you.
  8. In moving objects with the Move Tool I go to various places on the doc by pressing the space bar. After letting go of the space bar I expect the cursor to return to the Move Tool, but it almost always goes to (or remains in) the View Tool (the hand). In my Preferences/Shortcut the shortcut for the View Tool is empty, so that is not the problem. Doesn't pressing the space bar simply allow one to freely move around in the doc rather than actually bringing up the View Tool? It is time consuming that each time I press the space bar to move around the doc I must use my Move Tool shortcut ("s") to return to the Move Tool. Actually, often after letting go of the space bar and pressing my "s" shortcut, the shortcut does not work and I must use the Node Tool shortcut ("d") which does work---and then use the "s" to bring back my Move Tool. As far as I see there is no shortcut conflict. Might these issues be a bug in AD?
