  1. hey there, I'm sharing this work and a complete video that I've made using Affinity Designer on ipad pro I hope you will enjoy the techniques that I use to build my characters, you can download some projects done in my youtube, it's available in my patreon for learning community on there I dedicate time to public exercises and useful contents for affinity users, illustrators, and designers. Thank you!
  2. Hey all, I'm really happy to announce that I've just released the first few videos of my passion project, the Shooting Series! What it's about I love photography and video - I'll often go out and shoot specific material for use in the Affinity Photo tutorials to demonstrate certain features, and this has fed into my desire to cover a mixture of well-known and esoteric shooting techniques. It's my goal, then, to produce a video series that looks at all kinds of weird and wonderful photographic techniques - from shooting for stacking (long exposure simulation, noise reduction) to light painting, "big stopper" effects, portrait panoramas, focus stacking landscapes.. the list goes on. I'm constantly gathering material and planning/scripting videos, but I've just put the finishing touches on a few of the videos and felt it was about time to share them. Where applicable, I'll also be providing sample materials to download. Additionally, I've also put accompanying articles up on my website that provide some additional tips and insights. Long Exposure Water - Watch on YouTube - Read article In this video we're looking at the popular technique of using long exposure times to create shots with blurred motion; in this particular case, we're focusing on water. When you shoot water with long exposures, it takes on a smoother, "flowing" and sometimes ethereal appearance. In the video, I cover the use of both variable and fixed Neutral Density filters, as well as square filters with a filter bracket. Burst Stacking - Watch on YouTube - Read article - Download sample images Here we're exploring the use of stacking in post to create a long exposure look from a burst of images. It's a very esoteric technique, but can prove very useful in certain circumstances: you could, for example, find yourself in a situation where you want to achieve a long exposure look to some water, but don't have either a means of stabilisation or any ND filters to cut down the light for a slower shutter speed. I've also provided a ZIP archive with image samples for two of the compositions so you can stack them and see the effect. Big Stopper - Watch on YouTube - Read article - Download sample images In this video we're taking a look at setting up the camera for a "big stopper" effect with landscapes, as well as exploring stacking in post production to both enhance and emulate the effect. Also provided is a ZIP archive with image samples for two of the examples so you can experiment with stacking them. Polarisers - Watch on YouTube - Read article In this short and sweet video we're taking a look at polarisers, examining their benefits and caveats. Portrait Panoramas - Watch on YouTube - Read article Check out how to capture more vertical space in your panoramas by shooting in portrait orientation. --- Hope you find them interesting and useful!
  3. 周末在家无聊,到网上找了一张图片,然后模仿着画了一只。
  4. I'm currently trying out the free trial of Affinity Photo and decided to spend the evening streaming - I thought it would make a neat timelapse! The one major thing that I couldn't figure out was text on a path. Really enjoying how easy it is to transition from 14 years of Photoshop. I am excited to see what else I can do with this!
  5. I would love it if you would create a Video Editing Software like premier (but better obviously) As a college student I have two choices pay the expensive price of £16 a month for Adobe's okay software or get it offline illegally and unsafe. I have already Purchased Affinity Photo, am about to Purchase Affinity Designer but would absolutely love it if there was a affinity video editor for my media. I know this might not be your kinda thing but it would be so great and I know so many people would rather use this than adobe. You're ahead of them, keep it up.
  6. I saw this video on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bX_h98OW4-8&list=WL&index=14&t=754s It's about compositing video into an image and the tutorial is made for Photoshop. However, I wondered if it is possible to do the same on either WIN desktop or ipad pro 2017? I have been unable to place the downloaded mp4 file onto ipad and thought this may not be available in Affinity Photo?
  7. Since Affinity has now a complete package of graphics products I felt it might be time to throw out a possibility for a new version of an old product under the Affinity brand! I'm a big fan of Affinity Designer and "MOVIE PLUS X6" ! I've been using Movie Plus since its inception. I have software from Adobe, Pinnacle and others but none are as versatile as Movie Plus. Its workflow, I find to be, the most efficient and productive of any video editing software. In my humble opinion, with a little updating to handle the newer codecs, it would once again be world class. I would bet there are others who continue to use Movie Plus both professionally and as a hobbyist. So, I just can't imagine that you folks have given up on video editing and authoring after producing such a stellar product.
  8. This is a video of me talking about a couple of the problems with how Designer deals with color, and likely Affinity Photo as well. And this video should explain at least somewhat well why the gradients are too dark. If there are any Affinity devs active here, a response/acknowledgement of the problem/solution from them would be appreciated. Thanks! P.S. Shortly after I made this vid, I actually did go and buy AD. So I hope even more now that these problems get fixed. Like the point I tried to make in the video, would these issues really be that hard to program out? affinitydesignerproblem.mp4
  9. Animatior in Affinity Photo, and or Timeline?? I think that it would be super cool if Affinity Photo like Photoshop added frame by frame animation, this is a huge downside to using Affinity Photo for me, I don't think it should become a seperate product since, well, I already have Affinity Photo, I do not need a full fledged animator and they already have their hands busy. The idea would be you could makes frames and export them as .gifs and maybe .mp4's? that would be cool! all the features would pretty much be a copy of photoshop (maybe some cool feature aswell.), then cartoonists could animate, photo editors could do some sick things and designers could make sick banners and internet .gifs, If affinity added this, I would completely forget about photoshop and leave it in the dust, affinity is amazing and with animation it would be great! Thanks for reading this post! please consider this :D - Segovo
  10. What is the preferred method for reserving page space for video and other media? As Publisher has no facility for inserting various forms of media content such as Vimeo, YouTube, or media players, for modern online document publication, so; therefore space needs to be reserved and replaceable after rendering to PDF. Should a picture frame rectangle or just a rectangle (or another shape) be used for PDF editing?
  11. Another thing I was wondering...can you do any type of animations in Affinity aa of now? Like you can with Adobe. And if not, do you guys think this may be something they do in the future? With the steady climb in popularity of video and animation, I think it would be really cool if Affinity did implant that in some way. Either added with Designer or even a new app similar to After Effects would be cool. I'm still going to use Designer and Photo but I'm really trying to eliminate any need to have to use Adobe ever again and be locked into their contracts. I was just curious. Thank you in advance!
  12. Requesting the ability to import a video file that breaks down into frames that have layers, edit each frame like a photo, play the video back, and export video. Would be productive for video touch ups, VFX and tittles. I could imagine some cool techniques using the liquid brush and some of Affinities other tools on video frames
  13. I've tried using the search tool on the forums... but I get lots of results that have nothing to do with the Publisher Beta. So, my question is: Does Affinity Publisher support embedding video files? I realize that there is some information regarding Affinity's current limited ability to import a variety of file types. But, are there plans to support placing video (and, dare I say it) animated GIFs/PNGs inside a document for export to interactive PDF?
  14. I'm perfectly fine sticking with an already well developed animation program. But its always good to have a non subscription program you like as a backup.

    A tiger

I'm working through the AD Workbook, and the first example seemed a little too easy for an old hand (or do I mean know-all?) like me, so I decided to try something a little more ambitious. So I did a tiger. It wasn't bad, but I thought I could do better ... so I did another one. Here it is ... This is reduced to about 70% of the original size. In the book, Ben The Illustrator says he often works from videos rather than still photos, so I looked out one or two videos on the internet. This image is made from two stills, as the real thing didn't look exciting enough! I made vector shapes on separate layers of: the body and nearer legs; the tail; the head; the further legs; and the stripes -- the stripes I clipped to their layers so i didn't have to fiddle about with the edges. I saved that as an AD file, then as an AP file, which I then edited with some motion and radial blur to give a sense of movement. As I went along, I duplicated some of the layers and rasterised them, so I could add some shading and clip them. Finally, I made up a background from a couple of texture images, and added a shadow underneath the animal.
  16. Hi Affinity forum, I have created this blog post and video on how to add contrast in three different ways in Affinity Photo. Check it out here: Add Contrast Like A Pro - Using Affinity Photo I hope you like it. Feel free to share it. Thanks, Peter Dam Dam-photo.com
  17. I've seen several people posting time-lapsed videos of their drawings in Affinity Designer for iPad, from start to finish. They aren't image sequences, they are sped up screen recordings. I'm not quite sure if this is something that Affinity enables internally? Or, if they are using some third party gear to capture their actions on the iPad's screen? At the very least, exporting the image history to an image sequence would allow for a time-lapsed "build" over time to be exported and shared. How are people creating time-lapsed videos of their drawing in Affinity Designer on iPad?
  18. Here's a time-lapse of me creating a new comic-style drawing. Mistakes and back-pedalling included. Final result: Authoring file: Enjoy!
  19. Yes, it's that time of year again. My Christmas video is made with a 'borrowed' image, chopped up and manipulated with Affinity Photo, animated with Anime Studio (a third-party package marketed by Serif a few years back) and brought together in Serif MoviePlus X6. Merry Christmas!
  20. A video import option would be great, whether thats streaming video from Vimeo or actually inserted into the document. Then being able to output as a PDF and send to clients would be invaluable. I appreciate it would create larger files but this is way better option that filling a document full of links. Great product so far Thanks Glenn

About the Project:Beyond Horizon is a small project I've been working on for a couple of years now, starting off as a 2d pixel art game before moving into this mixture of vector and semi-realistic textures that I started to play around with while working on an illustrated calendar.I'm currently working on this project solo so production on the game has been slow (along with changing a lot of things required to re-start from the ground up) and I felt like I should start sharing the project. 22. Link to YouTube Espero les guste. Saludo.
  23. Today i want to just share with you a quick video of what i believe and think Serif Team should take in consideration and make available into the Affinity Range. Well the product they will choose that will have this ... is something i can't point out now but with the coming kind of enforced collaboration between all three products i really believe we should be able to make this kind of things with ease and not jump to other software's just to generate it knowing the portability and sometime compatibility is not properly working. Less words, now check in 1min what i'am referring to ! Requested_functions1.mp4
  24. Sorry if this has been mentioned before but can't find it if it has. Is there or can there be the ability to import video files into Affinity in order to separate the frames for individual working. Photoshop has had this function and is very handy.
