  1. The crash can be 100% reproduced on my computer. The file is attached. step 1: delete the btn symbol step 2: ctrl+z twice to undo "delete" and "set current selection" then AD crashes. Windows 7 64 bit 1.5.0.36 crash symbols.afdesign
  2. Hi all I am fairly new to affinity designer and this kind of software on general. I drew a shape using the pencil tool and without realizing what expand stroke does I selected it. Is there a way to undo this? I tried selecting all and converting to curves and I tried using the divide option but so far nothing. Thanks!
  3. Hey everyone! When moving an object inside a symbol and undoing, it's a symbol outside of the symbol. I am using iPad mini 5, iOS 13.4.1, Designer 1.7.1. Best wishes, Shu
  4. I can't see an undo or redo button on the tool bar, I used them quite frequently in PagePlus and is useful to have, can this option be added? Thanks.
  5. Changing a gradient type when using the Fill Tool adds huge amounts of the same entry, "Set fill type", to be added to the History panel. This is to the point that it will push everything else away, leaving only these repeated entries in the History panel, essentially denying you any way to undo your work. Steps to reproduce: Create or select an object With the Fill Tool drag across the object to create a simple gradient On the context bar at the bottom, scroll to another fill type, like conical Watch as the History panel get absolutely overwhelmed with the same entry over and over I've actually manage to crash the app doing this, but it doesn't happen always See the attached video for a visual guide on how to trigger this issue. Workaround while this bug isn't fixed: With your object selected, DO NOT trigger the fill type popup by tap the fill type name Instead tap the arrows to the left and right of the fill type name Each tap on these arrows will only had one entry to the History panel If you accidentally trigger the fill type popup, either tap away to close it or directly tap once on another fill type, NEVER SCROLL THROUGH THE LIST Directly tapping another fill type on the popup still adds two duplicate entries to the History panel, but that's still better than flooding it and loosing your undo ability Thanks! 6. Hi, I was just opened Designer and noticed that there was an update, started working, and had to undo something, and noticed that undo doesn't work since the update with keyboard shortcut, not from the dropdown menu. Please fix this, it is a vital part working. Photo works perfect, the problem is within Designer.
  7. Recien actualice las apps y ahora el affinity designer no me deja usar Cmd-Z, el menu deshacer y rehacer siempre está desactivado!! Es imposible trabajar así! Que puedo hacer???
  8. Hello, The moment I press "z" on the keyboard to zoom the "undo" function occurs. As I was aligning the 2 squares and I pressed "z" to zoom in, the 2 squares went back to their original state. Please check the video in dashed yellow rectangle when this bug occurs. I don't know why square go back to their original positions the moment I press "z" to zoom in, Please help. Thank you zoom-bug.mp4
  9. A colleague and I were creating some tutorials for our end users when he went to a layer in Photo, right-clicked on it and chose Delete. We then noticed that there was no UNDO under the Edit menu for that operation. The History tooltab was also blank suddenly. He then went to recreate the layer and suddenly the history reappeared and he was able to undo and get the layer back. We tried to recreate the scenario but could not. I'm certain it was a glitch but just wanted to make it aware to all.
  10. Let's say I do this: 1. Place an EPS graphics in Affinity Designer. 2. Use Transparency Tool on the graphic to make part of it transparent (a gradient). How do I UNDO that action later on? Sure, I can eliminate it by pressing CMD-Z numerous times (loosing all my other work in the process). But I don't see how to eliminate that added transparency when I look at the Layers palette. I see the transparency on my layer, but I don't see how to zap that transparency into oblivion. If it was added as a separate layer, it would be easy to delete the transparency, but it isn't. It merely displays in the layers palette. How do I delete a transparency I added to an object via the Transparency Tool? Thank you.
  11. Hi, how I can add the undo-Button to the symbol bar in Affinity desinger? Regards
  12. Hi, the gesture „undo“ tap with two fingers works fine on my iPad Pro 9,7“ but the gesture „do again“ tap with three fingers doesn‘t work. On my husband´s iPad Pro 12“ everything is fine. My small iPad has iOS 12.0.1 I tried to remove and reinstall Affinity Designer again but same problem on the smaller iPad Pro again. Thanks for any idea what´s wrong
  13. I know you have the History Tree option but I would love to see a Snapshot button which would be clicked on to store your publication at that point. Each time the button is clicked then a new Snapshot icon would appear in the title bar somewhere and you could simply jump between these or delete them as and when you wish. This would allow pages to be experimented on and simply put back to a set point as required. If this is not possible, how about a Snapshot Button that inserts a Snapshot Icon in the History Tree which did the same thing? I really don't like the short cut options that pop up when you click the Right Mouse Button as they never appear to change. I would love to see the contents change dependent on the screen object selected. So when a picture is clicked on you have options such as align, replace image etc right there, rather than have to keep moving up to the title bar; Or can we have the option to customise this menu drop down please? As you work on a design I can't see an option to review it as it would look when published. Is there one? as it would be nice if it appeared as a pdf document so you could view your progress. When you drag images etc off the page they can't be seen, even when the clipping option is turned off, so you can't store assets off the edge of the page which is very strange and really unhelpful when you are playing around with object positioning on the page. When you select a page would it not be possible to place a thumbnail of each asset on that page in a side bar where they can be selected without clicking on them on the page? I say this because it is so easy to move objects out of position when you are simply want to highlight them. Locking them in position isn't really the answer when you still need to move them around. An assets menu bar would also allow objects to be dragged out onto the page as a copy, or dropped into another box to replace the contents. Highlighting text in a text box is a very hit and miss affair and quite often the text box is dragged out of position. Could an option be added so that you hold the LMB down for a second or so and you automatically go into text edit mode? This is a big program so apologies if somethings there already which I may not have found yet. I really like this software, and because of the price it will be a must buy when its released. Keep up the great work.
  14. Hi, I found that every time I work with symbols in Affinity Designer and go back in history with cmd+z (undo) in Mac, the app crashes.
  15. I've only just started playing with the beta version, but would suggest an "undo" and "re-do" button by default on the toolbar. Maybe a fully customisable toolbar would be useful. My first impressions are it is a great piece of software. I've used PagePlus for many years now.
  16. Can anyone tell me what keeps happening to my pencil strokes, and what to do about it? I am drawing using the pencil tool. The thick black stroke in the first image is what I have been using, and it is what I want. However, in the middle of drawing something (in this case, I was tracing the shape that is on the bottom left of both images), all of a sudden all of my strokes disappear (compare images below). The pencil lines are still there, but the thick black part is gone and I'm left with just the thin blue selection lines (not the selection box; I mean the lines that make up the curves themselves are now just thin blue lines). And I don't mean just on the particular curve I've been working on, I mean when this happens every stroke in the document (even on other, supposedly locked layers) has gone from thick black lines to almost invisible thin lines. When I check the stroke settings—brush width, size variance, solid line style, etc.—none of them have changed, but my nice thick black lines are still gone. Changing these settings has no effect, and undoing has no effect—I can undo all the way back to the point at which I first drew each line, and they are still thin blue lines the whole time, not thick black ones. This has happened to me in two different documents so far, and because I can't find a way to fix the lines or undo whatever happened, I have had to start over from scratch, which really blows. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong and how to fix it? I've searched the forums and tutorials for help but haven't found any info. If you reply please have mercy and use laymen's terms. :) I am very new to Affinity Designer, and to graphic design programs in general. Thank you very much.
  17. Is it possible to disable deselect as a history step? If I perform 5 actions, then undo 3 and click off an object by mistake, it erases my redo history.
  18. I have the same problem. I can go back in the history and get the desired result. But when I use the Undo Brush with that same history step selected it would paint some other (rotated) version of the image. Attached are some steps: - the image with its layers - paint on the background layer - select the Undo Brush and the goal in the history - Undo Brush result Even after deletion of the history and merging all layers the result is the same.
  19. Hello. affinity team. Thank you for making awesome app. I use affinity photo ipad 2days for painting. But, I have some problem with painting. The use of undo and colour picker is too inconvenient and the painting time is too slow. I hope I can use colour pickers and undo easily. I think it would be nice if you can do it with a simple two finger tap or similar action like other apps, and a colour picker would be better to have a button in a good position to use when using a brush. The ability to adjust the position of the interface is also helpful. I'm sorry I can not speak English well. Affinity Photo is a cool app. Thank you.
  20. The undo brush appears to take the image back to the original state, rather than the selected history state. Does anyone else see this issue?
  21. This has happened to me at least twice recently. I'll hit the Undo shortcut a number of times, wondering why nothing is changing, when I notice something change in the non-active document—that is, a Designer document window in the background. I am using Designer with multiple documents in separate windows (i.e. 'Window > Separated Mode' is checked). I'm not sure how to reproduce the bug.
  22. Hi, I have been editing with the healing brush for a small area. I wasn’t totally happy with result. Tried using cloning tool to refine it. Made things worse. How do I reverse the actions. The ‘undo’ does not respond effectively, in any case it could take a lot of tapping. I opened history hoping to find somethin there. I don’t really want to delete the photo having done some other acceptable work with it, but may have to. Help please, gratefully received. I’m a novice with Affinity, used to working with PSE. Thanks
  23. I'm not entirely sure if this is a bug or a feature in Affinity Designer. But every time I drag a shape while holding command in order to copy the shape (while moving it) and then undoing that action, I've noticed that Affinity doesn't really undo that action. It still leaves a copy of that shape on top of the previous shape. For example, I command drag a shape in order to copy and move it. After undoing that action, one would think the shape is gone but then it's not. This isn't the case in illustrator and it's always throwing me off because I end up with multiple copies of the shape on top of each other. Any help or comment appreciated. Thanks!
  24. Hi guys, Is it just me, or is the Undo-Redo a bit glitchy? And I think that the problem is that selecting an object (clicking on it) counts for Undos or Redos. For example. 1. I make 10 changes 2. I undo 10 times, and then accidentally click on the screen (basically deselecting any selected objects) 3. There's no way to redo the 10 steps, not even from the History panel, which gets reset to the point where you clicked on the canvas and deselected everything. This is extremely annoying, should selecting an object really matter for Undos Redos? Even if it would, would that be more important than accidentally losing your work progress based on a minor mistake? Cheers, Chris
  25. I followed these steps to a fresh image (a tiff): Add new pixel layer Change blend mode (Overlay) Select gradient tool and draw gradient This results in image changing. Then when I undo (clicking back up the history stack or dragging Position slider), the image change is left as it was. Looks like a refresh issue, as dragging a paint brush over (not painting) results in image being restored to what it should be under the brush. Image attached. gradient issue.afphoto
