  1. Hi! Does it make sense to wait for the light version for the iPhone in the near future? I really miss the pocket vector editor for accurate sketches ... with symmetry and sticking on the grid Or can you recommend an application from another manufacturer?
  2. Hi Serif team, Thanks for the great new update and some fancy new features and bug fixes! Also thank you for addressing the brush tool dynamics in this update. However it seems to not be working exactly as it should be. Ive attached a vid to show how the dynamics should perform with light to heavy taps of the pen. The first demonstration is in AP, as you can see the tip size doesn't change with the light and heavy taps of the pen, nor does it reach the full wide of the brush size. This might be ok if the pen sensitivity button wasn't turned on. Being able to turn on and off the sensitivity is great thing for control. Unfortunately none of this is working. In the second demo (Procreate) you can see how the brush tool response perfectly to light and hard taps of the pen. It changes in flow and size reaching the final brush size at maximum impact. For quick sketching or painting the artist relies on this when placing the pen back onto the page. Having the pen dump a stamp of the brush that's the same size every time can require going back for cleanup and less control for design. Please consider this to be a priority for AP in the next update. Regards Andy
  3. Hello everyone, hello Affinity team, first of all, I love your software - its awesome! Using it for Mac and the iPad Their is a small thing, that would improve your software - its about the freehand selection tool. Can you "steal" the idea from the ProCrate app for the iPad? How their freehand selection tool works? Their selection tool is pretty cool. You can stop the selection if you lift of the pen, BUT if you put the pen again on the iPad, then it connects the points where you ended and were you started again. If you are ready with the selection, you can double tip on a little circle on the beginning of the selection, so its closes the selection. So the hole selection part becomes very easily. I´m not an native speaker, so I hope I could make the idea clear- in my opinion this is the perfect freehand selection tool, because you can take breaks and don't have to do the hole selection in one hand gesture or to refine it the hole time with selection/selection again and again. Maybe you could look at the ProCreate App to understand what I mean. I think this little feature would be a big improvement. Have a nice day - you guys and girls are doing great work!!!! <3 Oh and their is one last thing- could you change that you have so save the selections on the iPad version on an extra channel? That is pretty unwieldy . I would love it, if you just can do a thing like "command+click" like on the desktop version. Or just tip on the layer and hold for a sec. to make a selection- that would be pretty cool.

  5. In case you are not familiar with it, Procreate is basically the number one most popular digital raster painting application on iOS. It's a great and fast little program with a very well thought-out UI. It would be cool to be able to open their files up in Affinity Photo on the Desktop. There is currently no application on the Desktop that supports .procreate files natively, so they must currently be exported to PSD on the device, which loses some features like the embedded time-lapse video. PSDs also cannot be re-imported, hence PSD is not suitable for archiving files from Procreate. So being able to open the native files in a desktop app would be great, and it's something many Procreate users have been requesting for years. Thus I imagine you might be able to generate quite a few extra sales among Procreate users. And when the iOS version of Photo is released, Procreate support would of course be even more useful. Ideally, if the Affinity QuickLook plugin would also provide support for viewing .procreate files in Finder and QuickLook, as that would be the absolute icing on the cake. The file format is actually quite simple, it's basically a ZIP file with some plists that describe the structure, then there are the individual raster tiles as separate files, and the embedded time-lapse video. The only potentially difficult thing would be figuring out how to decode the image tiles as they seem to be compressed somehow in recent versions, but I'm sure the people at Procreate would be glad to help with that.
  6. Hi, Thanks first of all for such a superb application, now that's out of the way I'm looking to use Procreate app on the iPad to export the .psd file over to Affinity but for some reason this doesn't seem to work. I tried opening the .psd in Pixelmator with no problems, I can also export the file from Pixelmator to a .psd and that then opens in Affinity Photo but I would ideally like to skip that part completely. Not sure if there is just some small problem importing a particular type of .psd file. Basically, I have no idea. I've attached the basic file for you if that helps. Many thanks!
