  1. Will DXO Nik collwction 2 work in AP 1.7?
  2. Simple question, but very difficult to find a thread devoted to this topic, given the various versions of the Nik plugins in use and the various versions of Affinity Photo in use. Does the current version of the Nik plugins available from DxO (Nik Collection 2) work on the current production version of Affinity Photo or on the current beta.?
  3. Since updating to 1.7.1.404 (Photo) on Windows 7 when using some of the NIK plugins, they start to load but then it turns to grey (the plugin screen) & Photo is then stuck & the only way out it to can Photo (end the process via the task manager). This has happened with the HDR & SilverFX. Others seem to be ok. I am using the old (free) Google version of NIK. Julie :-)
  4. As soon as I call the NIK plugins, the fonts are updated and Affinity Photo 1.7 needs to be quit without any way to save the former work. Any ideas?
  5. I see that DxO have released Nik Collection 2. See http://nikcollection.dxo.com there is a 30% discount up to June 30th, and it includes DxO PhotoLab 2.3 I would be interested to see if this works with the new v1.7. I gather that some users have been having problems. John
  6. When exporting from either LR or Capture One 9 the image that appears in Affinity Photo for WIndows 1.51 has the correct color and appears to have all the adjustments included. However, when using the NIK plugin in Affinity the image colors are much darker and has a blue cast and the image appears flat. I have repeated this with several images with the same results. I have had to return back to PS cc when using NIK as Color Efex and Viveza are basically useless when used in Affinity Photo for Windows. Thanks Bob
  7. I wanna know how to transfer NIK filters from photoshop too Affinity Photo with out having to buy them from DXO ?? I am on an iMac, thanks if you can help.
  8. When I dowmload and install the released version of AP 1.7, Can I retain 1.6 as I use Nik plugins a lot?
  9. I have tried to use the Nik plugins on the new Beta, but they are all greyed out, they worked fine on the previous beta, before I updated. What do I have to do? Dave
  10. Hi all, I successfully installed Nik plugins, but the colour of the photo is so strange (Viveza2). Please see below... Original photos are in regular colour and white balance was set to be correct (see the right down corner one). Who do you know what happens and how can I solve it? Many thanks. PS: the Nik collection is from Google free.
  11. Hi, I took advantage of Black Friday sales to purchase DxO's Nik collection. I followed the installation instructions for installing the plugins into Affinity Photo. They show up Preferences > Photoshop Plugins, "Allow 'Unknown' plugins to be used" is checked, "/" is in Plugin Support Folders and "Authorize Global" is greyed out. When I select a pixel layer in the Photo Persona I can select only one of the plugins that appears in Filters > Plugins > Nik Collection, "HDR Efex Pro 2". All the others are greyed out and cannot be clicked, not even the two that have status "Working." HDR Efex Pro 2 did run when I clicked it. I am running Affinity Photo 1.6.7 on macOS 10.13.6 on a 2018 MacBook Pro 15" with Touch Bar & Touch ID. The pixel layer is "Background," generated by the Develop Persona. The file that was developed was a Nikon RAW (NEF) created on a D7200 using Adobe RGB. The Develop Persona uses the ROMM RGB profile for output. Neither Lightroom nor Photoshop is installed on the machine.
  12. The new version of NIK shows it is compatible with Affinity Photo, but unfortunately it is not showing up after an install. Do I have to install the new version the same way the free one is installed? Or is the old version the only way to use the NIK Collection with Affinity Photo? Thank you.
  13. Don't no if already posted somewhere but https://nikcollection.dxo.com/ Russ
  14. Hi, As I explain it in my previous post (MacOS + AP + Nik Collection FULL FONCTIONALS ...), Selective Tool plugin can't work in Affinity Photo because it open a scripts panel in Photoshop ; but most of then can be reproduce with simple macros in Affinity Photo ... So I did it ! 1- At first, you have to install Nik Collection plugins for Affinity Photo, some YouTube videos explain clearly how to do it. 2- You have to correct *.config files has I explain here. 3- Install "NIK Collection Selective Tool.afmacros" How it work ? Generaly, the "real" Selectiv Tool copye and merges all the layers, then it creates a full mask (black) befor calling the plugin you select with it. When you've finished to work in the plugin's panel, you go back in the editing software and you just have to erase parts of the mask with a white brush to reveale the effect ... NIK Collection Selective Tool.afmacros works exactly the same way. Note : you don't have to use Selective Tool to work with Nik Collection plugins ; this tool is just a "plus". Enjoy it ! NIK Collection Selective Tool macros for Affinity Photo.zip
  15. Hello. I have noticed quite a large color shift when I use Nik collection in Affinity Photo. Images are desaturated about 20-30 % once displayed in Nik collection. My workflow is - Capture One, edit in - AF, Nik collection. I've tried all kind of things, nothing seems to help. It started about 3-4 weeks ago. Everything was fine before, except Veveza, but that is known the issue I suppose. Examples included
  16. I just downloaded the Affinity Photo trial and so far like what I see, but there is one little problem I encountered after installing the Nik plugins. I am still using the Google Nik version and have not upgraded to the DXO version (in case that may be a factor in the problem). All the plugins work well except for Viveza 2. When I go to that from Affinity Photo, there is a bad color shift in the image to the point that the plugin is not useful. Is there a way to correct that or is it because I am using the old Google Nik set and would have to upgrade to the DXO version, which I am not planning to do at this time. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks. Jim Lawrence
  17. If I open a JPG image (portrait mode) in Affinity Photo & then select Filters - Plugins - Nik Collection - Color Efex Pro 4 the image appears in landscape mode! I have tried rotating the image prior to applying the filter but it makes no difference. It works fine in Photoshop CC 2017 but not in Affinity. Any suggestions?

  19. Hello. Is there a way to use Nik sharper for raw files within Affinity Photo? Is yes, does it work better than original photo effect? How to use HDR plugin with more than one image?
  20. Hi, i added the new NiK collection by DXO to my affinity and it's not working, it keeps loading with no progress till i force shutdown affinity. Is there any solution for that matter? i followed the steps in the below link for adding it https://youtu.be/D7kRQTMI1Nw
  21. Using Affinity Photo 1.5.1 on a Mac. I reinstalled the free Google Nik collection today (I had it installed before, but it disappeared after the 1.5 update). Made sure I followed all instructions carefully, authorised globally etc. AP Preferences show Analog Efex Pro 2 and Color Efex Pro 4 as 'Working', the rest is marked as 'Unknown'. Analog and Color Efex do, in fact, work, and so do Silver Efex and HDR Efex. But Dfine, Viveza, and the two Sharpeners just crash. I know others have reported Viveza crashing when setting a control point, but for me it already crashes when simply trying to open it. Affinity Photo just closes in an instant, and I get a macOS message that it quit unexpectedly. I was under the impression that all of the Nik plugins are supposed to work in AP 1.5 (with some bugs still to be sorted out)? Additionally, when opening the filters that do work, I get a prompt to buy them, or initiate the 15-days demo. That is despite the Nik collection now being free, and me having downloaded the files after they became free. I would be grateful for any advise :)
  22. Following recent posts on Super-Resolution, and Nik HDR, I thought I would try Nik HDR Efex Pro on a single image. I had an image created using PhotoAcute trial on a burst-mode set of images to create super-resolution image. It worked (leaving a watermark), but the image seemed to have lost some detail in the shadows. See image 1, which is a full-resolution, cropped image from the PhotoAcute .dng output, developed and exported as .jpg.. I then applied Nik HDR Efex Pro to it and got this: And, for comparison, I used Affinity New HDR Stack on the single PhotoAcute dng output: The two HDR images are a great improvement on the untreated original showing detail in the shadow area. However the Affinity New HDR Stack took an age to process, at least 30 minutes and maybe longer (I went off and cooked and ate lunch). My previous experience with Affinity New HDR Stack has not had such long times, although the file sizes had been smaller (Super-Resolution enlarges image by 200%). Has anyone else had such a wait? John
  23. Hey. My plugins (Nik) disappeared after updating to the later Affinity Photo. I'm on iMac. I've tried going into preferences - Photoshop Plugins but obverting I've tried doesn't work. I have no idea what I'm doing lol! Any help would be appreciated thanks :-)
  24. My Nik plugins are greyed out on some images but not on others. I recently scanned some old B&W negs to JPEG images and was trying to use my installed Nik plugins in Affinity Photo but they are greyed out. Other JPEG images I have in my folders work fine and all the Nik plugins are available for both B&W and Colour images. It seems that all my recent scans will not work with Nik plugins. I presume I've done something wrong but I've no idea what that is. The only thing I've noticed that seems new is that when I open those problematic B&W scans in Affinity Photo I get a window with a message saying 'Assigned Profile - Affinity Photo assigned your working profile, (Greyscale D50) to this unprofiled document' which disappears after a short while. I don't really know what this means or if it's significant in relation to the Nik Plugins issue. Can anyone help? Thanks!
  25. Can I use NIK filters as live filters like in PS where if you work on a smart layer, Nik shows as a smart filter.
