  1. Hi all, DxO just released version 3 of the NIK collection. There is a new plugin, Perspective Efex, which can correct perspective errors / problems. It is marked as "unknown" in the Affinity Photo plugin list, and in fact, it does not work, as the plugin declares itself. It tells me, that the plugin resizes the image, which is not supported by the host application (Affinity Photo). Do you think, you can make this new plugin work in the future?
  2. When exporting from either LR or Capture One 9 the image that appears in Affinity Photo for WIndows 1.51 has the correct color and appears to have all the adjustments included. However, when using the NIK plugin in Affinity the image colors are much darker and has a blue cast and the image appears flat. I have repeated this with several images with the same results. I have had to return back to PS cc when using NIK as Color Efex and Viveza are basically useless when used in Affinity Photo for Windows. Thanks Bob
  3. As a plugin to AP I am running the vintage edition of the NIK Collection, back from the days when Google owned the company. When I open a photo through the plugin function from within AP, the ruler descriptions are missing: When I open the App from the NIK Collection directly, the descriptions are showing: How can I get the missing descriptive text to show in the plugin as well ?
  4. As an experiment I tried opening a copy of a RAW file directly with the NIK RAW PreSharpener. Right click on the RAW file, Open with, and then navigate to the SHP3RPS executable (64bit Windows). It all seemed to work fine until I tried to save the file. The save errored and said it would attempt to restore the original. Has anyone else tried this and managed to get the save to work?
  5. hello just bought Affinity photo and I'd like to install my NIK suite and (DXO if it is possible) / I'm using NIK 2 and DXO LAB 2 when I open preferences I cannot find the right file to add in my Mac. regards, Damish
  6. My Nik Collection plug ins were installed and working, but have vanished & Affinity Photo doesn't "see" them anymore. Mac OS Catalina 10.15.4 8 GB RAM (I know... I have one of the non-upgradable iMacs) Affinity Photo 1.8.3 Nik Collection 1.2.11? (when it was a free option from Google) I had the plug ins up and running and was using them with great success. With some on-going computer issues, I re-set Affinity Photo's user defaults (Reset User Defaults from Preferences > Miscellaneous) in an attempt to reset the Performance Preferences to default. Now, the Nik plug ins are missing. I have reinstalled from the Nik DMG and they still don't show up. I have re-started Affinity Photo at least half a dozen times to no avail. I'm at a loss and totally open to suggestions.
  7. Nik Collection just prompted me to install an upgrade to version 2.3.0.0. I am on Affinity Photo 1.7.3 and I want to avoid another disaster like what we experienced about a year ago with Nik just bombing on Affinity Photo. That was only changed when the finger pointing and shoulder shrugging caused a user community sh*t storm. However, I don't have time for the same thing this time around. Can anybody tell me if this is compatible BEFORE I install the upgrade, please? If it is not compatible, when can we expect it to be? Thanks. PS. I am on Mac OS Catalina.
  8. Hi all, I just took a clean install with macOS Mojave on my MacBook Pro as it started to be really slow and full of old crap I never use anymore and I only wants to use it for creative work anyway.. but it means I don't have Photoshop installed anymore..and I would prefer not to. Can I still install the NIK plugins and use with Affinity Photo plugins, even if I don't have the Photoshop plugin folder on my Mac? If yes, can anyone please explain how? :-)
  9. Simple question, but very difficult to find a thread devoted to this topic, given the various versions of the Nik plugins in use and the various versions of Affinity Photo in use. Does the current version of the Nik plugins available from DxO (Nik Collection 2) work on the current production version of Affinity Photo or on the current beta.?
  10. Since updating to 1.7.1.404 (Photo) on Windows 7 when using some of the NIK plugins, they start to load but then it turns to grey (the plugin screen) & Photo is then stuck & the only way out it to can Photo (end the process via the task manager). This has happened with the HDR & SilverFX. Others seem to be ok. I am using the old (free) Google version of NIK. Julie :-)
  11. As soon as I call the NIK plugins, the fonts are updated and Affinity Photo 1.7 needs to be quit without any way to save the former work. Any ideas?
  12. I see that DxO have released Nik Collection 2. See http://nikcollection.dxo.com there is a 30% discount up to June 30th, and it includes DxO PhotoLab 2.3 I would be interested to see if this works with the new v1.7. I gather that some users have been having problems. John
  13. I wanna know how to transfer NIK filters from photoshop too Affinity Photo with out having to buy them from DXO ?? I am on an iMac, thanks if you can help.
  14. When I dowmload and install the released version of AP 1.7, Can I retain 1.6 as I use Nik plugins a lot?
  15. Hi all, I successfully installed Nik plugins, but the colour of the photo is so strange (Viveza2). Please see below... Original photos are in regular colour and white balance was set to be correct (see the right down corner one). Who do you know what happens and how can I solve it? Many thanks. PS: the Nik collection is from Google free.
  16. Hi, I took advantage of Black Friday sales to purchase DxO's Nik collection. I followed the installation instructions for installing the plugins into Affinity Photo. They show up Preferences > Photoshop Plugins, "Allow 'Unknown' plugins to be used" is checked, "/" is in Plugin Support Folders and "Authorize Global" is greyed out. When I select a pixel layer in the Photo Persona I can select only one of the plugins that appears in Filters > Plugins > Nik Collection, "HDR Efex Pro 2". All the others are greyed out and cannot be clicked, not even the two that have status "Working." HDR Efex Pro 2 did run when I clicked it. I am running Affinity Photo 1.6.7 on macOS 10.13.6 on a 2018 MacBook Pro 15" with Touch Bar & Touch ID. The pixel layer is "Background," generated by the Develop Persona. The file that was developed was a Nikon RAW (NEF) created on a D7200 using Adobe RGB. The Develop Persona uses the ROMM RGB profile for output. Neither Lightroom nor Photoshop is installed on the machine.
  17. The new version of NIK shows it is compatible with Affinity Photo, but unfortunately it is not showing up after an install. Do I have to install the new version the same way the free one is installed? Or is the old version the only way to use the NIK Collection with Affinity Photo? Thank you.
  18. Don't no if already posted somewhere but https://nikcollection.dxo.com/ Russ
  19. Hi, As I explain it in my previous post (MacOS + AP + Nik Collection FULL FONCTIONALS ...), Selective Tool plugin can't work in Affinity Photo because it open a scripts panel in Photoshop ; but most of then can be reproduce with simple macros in Affinity Photo ... So I did it ! 1- At first, you have to install Nik Collection plugins for Affinity Photo, some YouTube videos explain clearly how to do it. 2- You have to correct *.config files has I explain here. 3- Install "NIK Collection Selective Tool.afmacros" How it work ? Generaly, the "real" Selectiv Tool copye and merges all the layers, then it creates a full mask (black) befor calling the plugin you select with it. When you've finished to work in the plugin's panel, you go back in the editing software and you just have to erase parts of the mask with a white brush to reveale the effect ... NIK Collection Selective Tool.afmacros works exactly the same way. Note : you don't have to use Selective Tool to work with Nik Collection plugins ; this tool is just a "plus". Enjoy it ! 20. Hello. I have noticed quite a large color shift when I use Nik collection in Affinity Photo. Images are desaturated about 20-30 % once displayed in Nik collection. My workflow is - Capture One, edit in - AF, Nik collection. I've tried all kind of things, nothing seems to help. It started about 3-4 weeks ago. Everything was fine before, except Veveza, but that is known the issue I suppose. Examples included
  21. I just downloaded the Affinity Photo trial and so far like what I see, but there is one little problem I encountered after installing the Nik plugins. I am still using the Google Nik version and have not upgraded to the DXO version (in case that may be a factor in the problem). All the plugins work well except for Viveza 2. When I go to that from Affinity Photo, there is a bad color shift in the image to the point that the plugin is not useful. Is there a way to correct that or is it because I am using the old Google Nik set and would have to upgrade to the DXO version, which I am not planning to do at this time. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks. Jim Lawrence
  22. If I open a JPG image (portrait mode) in Affinity Photo & then select Filters - Plugins - Nik Collection - Color Efex Pro 4 the image appears in landscape mode! I have tried rotating the image prior to applying the filter but it makes no difference. It works fine in Photoshop CC 2017 but not in Affinity. Any suggestions?
  23. I am running the old versions of my 27 ins iMac and have a colour cast when using them. The image just changes colour so they are us to use. is there away around this please. In vizvea the colours are way off... thanks
  24. Hello. Is there a way to use Nik sharper for raw files within Affinity Photo? Is yes, does it work better than original photo effect? How to use HDR plugin with more than one image?
