  1. I think highlight new features on menus could help user easier examine them. Not just for all version but for big leap versions/big updates I guess.
  2. Tried searching and did not see this subject come up. In V2 of Designer for Mac, I am attempting to use the New Layer shortcut, however the listed shortcut COMMAND+OPTION+N opens a new document instead of creating a new layer. I can't see that there is another shortcut in the File menu nor in the MACOS System Prefs>Keyboard... Anyone else resolve this WITHOUT changing the New Layer shortcut in Designer 2? 2019 MacBook Pro \ MacOs 13.0.1
  3. I created a menu for an Italian Pizza restaurant. I changed the phone and address as I didn’t want to post the real ones. I used Affinity Photo for the photos and Designer for creating the icons and shapes. Lots of text, tables to work with. These are jpg and don’t look as sharp as in Publisher or as the final PDFs used to print the menus.
  4. I think close all files without exit the app is better than exit to close all. E.g: Add an menu item to File > Close All Files
  5. Hi, Wondering if I can assign a keyboard shortcut on "Mask to Below" in the layer menu. Or can I assign shortcuts for the items in the layer menu? Thanks! CY
  6. Hello again all, and welcome to the latest round of ‘Whaaaaa … !’ Yes, that's right, there's a new and (possibly) even dumber question than those which have preceded it. That question is: HOW does one UPLOAD a GRADIENT SET to a GRADIENT PANEL in Affinity Photo? Please see screencap for the source of this query's ‘where’. I can find no panel accessible in Studio(-s), and although there is a Gradient Tool, and gradients present in the Swatches panel, I can find no corresponding Gradients panel in any section of the Studio. Am I chasing shadows becos there is no Gradients panel to upload to? As to what is being uploaded, this is a set of 40 Photoshop .grd gradients. Is there an incompatibility that prevents uploading to Photo, or are .grd files an inherently non-uploadable filetype? Thanks again to all for your assistance with this query. And now for Today's Feature Attraction, here’s The UPLOAD of available choice in the Studio panel … Ta-Daaaaaa!
  7. In the latest Insider version of Windows 11 22000.168. The entire application menu panel position has all become displayed on the left side. Just like this: And this: Even after reinstalling software and Windows system have not solved. Software distribution is from Microsoft Store. I have already provided feedback to Microsoft Windows 11 Insider channel. I hope affinity also to confirm which side result this problem. Thank you very much!
  8. I've used Suitcase to remove extraneous fonts from my user library but there's still a great number of fonts remaining in the system that show up in the drop down of Designer. Is there some way to manage the fonts in that menu option? I know I can limit the number by placing some in a favorites category but I'd like to have the general drop down exclude all the irrelevent options.
  9. I'm an AP newbie & Photoshop defector. I'm gradually learning how to set up AP and I've come across something that bugs me and I was wondering if there was a fix for this. I have set up an additional studio asset panel on the left of the screen but, if I click on a drop down menu to select a font, for example,, it is hidden behind the studio asset panel which is really infuriating. Does anyone know of a simple way to overcome this please? Thanks
  10. I noticed this on the previous version but was hoping it would be fixed on the latest version of Photo on Windows. The menus are all over the place depending on where they are on the top bar. Just wondering why they are all not flush left for all of the menus. I feel like it used to be that way and changed at some point. It kind of drives me crazy and makes it hard to be sure you have selected the correct menu. Not sure if this is happening for everyone. Thanks, Jeff See the examples below:
  11. Hi there, Photo opens up with the last brush used as the current brush. Unfortunately, that brush isn't visible in the Brushes menu tab as it's buried in whichever brush group it came from. There's no way that I can see to "highlight current brush in Brushes menu." Instead, I have to try to remember the name of the brush and where it came from. Not optimal when I'm trying to figure out which brushes I like and want to put into my own brush folder. Is there a way to identify the current brush in the Brushes menu? Thank you, Alec
  12. hello does any of you know, how to turn off those annoying yellow “names” when you change tools? It popup always and it is really bad to pay attention to that information thnx for help
  13. It there a way to reorder and/or remove items from Affinity Photo's dropdown menus? For example, I would like to reorganize the File menu per attached. Having the Save and Save As above Export invariably causes me to save AP's OEM file which I have no use for; very annoying! Thanks for assistance.
  14. Hi folks! Fantastic new updates that the team surprised us with! Preflight in Publisher, the Resource Collect feature and Embedded Documents – aka Smart Objects and thus the possibility to finally make use most stationary mock-ups – in Photo are my overall favourites! Buuut … I've got a question or rather a pretty annoying bug since day one I've been using Publisher (which literally is the case since the release): When I right-click on a layer in the Layers panel, the contextual drop-down menu appears in the upper left corner of my screen instead of directly at the Layers Panel and I have to move the mouse pointer there from the bottom right – somewhat inconvenient when working with master pages and want to make separate changes on different pages. Strangely enough, if I don't or just barely move my mouse and right-click a second time, the menu opens right under the mouse pointer. Has anyone else had this experience? Any idea what could cause this? 🤔 Q: Does this occur only when right clicking the Layers or whenever you use the right click? A: Just the layers panel. Q: If you reposition the main window does this effect the right click position? A: No change in behaviour. I already considered the right-aligned taskbar as the reason for the perhaps different coordinates for the context menu or whatever, but it makes no difference. Here's a short demonstration: Right-Click_Layers_Panel.mp4 Cheers and have a great Sunday MrDoodlezz
  15. Hey everyone! It would be useful to be able to hide the menu on the lower part of the screen (especially in full screen mode). I know it hides when I move there, but most of the time I don't know if I need to move there since it's blocking the view. Best wishes, Shu
  16. Don’t know if it’s just me, or if it’s just this file, or if I’ve had the app open too long, or what. All I know is that whenever I try to select the “Curves” adjustment on its own in the Adjustments studio, I get nothing. The only way I actually get the option to adjust anything is by swimming through the long version of the menu. Take a look... F03DE051-AAFC-44D4-8807-021EFC2BF928.MOV
  17. Hi all, I just noticed something weird and not consistent between inside the same application or any other software and is the alignment of the dropdown menu and sub menu. 1- For example, the dropdown menu it seems to be aligned to the right of the menu and it should be to the left: 2- Gets worse when opening sub menu which some open to the left although the arrow points to the right: In conclusion all the menu should be aligned to the left like any other software (maybe is not standard but is a best practice) and always the sub menu should open where the small arrow is (to the right) Quick mockup: Cheers, Juan
  18. I discovered today some problems in the RC2 version with the wacom tablet when in try to choose menu items. Some times its working or not. selection is then not possible and have to use the mouse. But brushes, clonetool are working after slected with mouse in the personas
  19. Make the View/Zoom menu more robust and flexible. Compare the zoom menu from Gimp app and Affinity Photo Beta app below. Notice that the Gimp app allows for 16+ possibilities for zooming in and out including the ability to set custom zoom factors. I would like to see these features in the Affinity suite of applications. https://www.gimp.org/
  20. I am admittedly a newbie here and this is a newbie question. I have noticed that sometimes, I get a menu when I right click and sometimes I don't: Under what circumstances, when I right-click, should I expect to get a menu in Affinity applications?
  21. It would be faster to access the STUDIO list of palettes if STUDIO was on the menu, perhaps between "View" and "Window". No doubt it is a major programming shuffle but accessing STUDIO is done frequently and one click is faster than two. Giving STUDIO a CTRL+? or ALT/CMD+? shortcut would help, too. And/or, make an icon for STUDIO so we can put it on the Toolbar if not on the menu. TKS.
  22. Hello Peoples, Hello Team ! Well today i want to raise a point that we often skip as we move on to more cool and nice Affinity stuffs and that point is: Layer color setup ! Yes often want to make better organization of our layers and marking them with appropriated colors (personal way to code this and that) is often what we tend to do but ! The actual way to do that is a bit of ... not as bad but ... too long and too burried/hidden : Right Click on the layer - scroll down to properties then proceed ! Now let's think of it in a different way. (that's the purpose of this suggestion). I believe that putting a clickable square or round button in front of the layer (blank in the beginning) that we can just click to reveal the same drop down thing which i think should eventually show more options than just color and name). After we do what necessary, that button or square thing would then switch from its blank/empty display to the selected color and the layer name would also update when we close it by clicking out of that drop down stuff. Being able to lock it should be great too ! Also i see that function to mark a layer with a color is missing on APhoto (recent beta) while it is something important. Well that what i drop here as suggestion and i believe some other have though or asked the same. Please guys may you think this is important or just useful please drop your comment with more details or even a drawing of how you think it could look like (to help the dev team) or just click and like this topic. Blessings !
  23. Some of the most frequently used edit commands are not available from the toolbar. E.g., the Edit > Undo and Edit > Redo functions would be productively convenient.
  24. In my evaluation of Affinity (the program is becoming increasingly attractive), two things are frustrating me. The first is important to me, the second less so but useful: 1. Presets. I have seen a video which shows how to save a RAW preset, where the presenter right clicks on the Preset tab and is asked which one to use or whether to create a new one. When I do the same, the only option shown is Default which is, of course, already selected. If I click on this it takes my work back to square one. How do I enable saving of presets? 2. Menu. Most (all?) the videos show the menu bar hidden until the user takes the cursor up to the top of the screen. How do I hide the menu bar and save that little bit of screen space? Thanks to those who will reply. DaveMM
  25. Hi, Affinity Photo Windows version 1.6.5.123. For some reason dropdown menus are opening left side, instead of right. How can I get those back to right side?
