  1. Hello, I have a problem on AD for iPad. My illustration of eps files that are exported from AD for iPad are always refused to upload to Shutterstock. The reject reason is because the file is less than 4MP. I found out that the eps file size is smaller than the original size. The original file size is always more than 4MP (for example 11000px X 4000px, 5000px X 5000px). However, the exported eps file size is 2052.8px X 647.4px, 1200px X 1200px... I do not find out the rule of the percentage to be shrunk so I do not expect what size I should set the original file. I would like to upload eps files to shutterstock because that is gradually more needed in the world. I attached screen shots. "IMG_0323" shows eps artboard size and "IMG_0324" shows original art board size. Please help me.
  2. I have a X-Rite ColorMunki Display to calibrate my screens. It even has support for iPad/iPhone, so I calibrated my iPad Pro 12.9" Mk.I with it and my iPhone 7 too. I can use an app called ColorTRUE to view my photos in real color on my iPad/iPhone. X-Rite says that other apps can be made to use the ColorTRUE profiles, so they will show true colors. As a photographer on the go, I often don't bring my heavy laptop with me with the calibrated screen and I rely on my iPad Pro 12.9" Mk.1 (which by the way has a terrible calibrated screen out of the factory). I edit a photo in Affinity Photo for iPad, export it and then check the real colors in the ColorTRUE app. Then go back to Affinity Photo and adjust colors, white balance, etc. if I need to. This is very cumbersome. If Affinity Photo for iPad could use the ColorTRUE Profile of my iPad, this cumbersome work around would not exist and I could use my iPad for more color critical photo work more easily. Are there plans for Affinity Photo for iPad to use ColorTRUE profiles? If not, are you willing to think about it? This would really make Affinity Photo for iPad justify the Pro in iPad Pro IMHO!
  3. I have been trying and trying to get Slice Export to work for me on Affinity Designer iPad. I watched the tutorial video on how to do it. It just doesn't work for me. I tried exporting to iPad folder and also to various iCloud folders as well, nothing, it just doesn't export anything.

An exercise in working in black and white using Affinity Designer. What I need to do is find a few brushes I like and save them in a new folder of favourites as I find there too many options in the standard brushes and I loose track of where I am. I like the sprays and splatters as they give good textures. Need to play around a little more to find pencils/charcoals I like. For this image I sketched an idea in Procreate, then placed it into AD where I created basic vector linework before adding textures in pixel mode. I'd be happy not using colour anyday.
  5. Hi, I've been using Photo on iPad for a few months and am not satisfied. I've tried editing RAW files from a Fuji X-T20 and find that adjusting highlights leaves them nowhere near acceptable. They quickly blow out without usable detail. Raw Power does a much better job, and for those who are familiar, it doesn't have as many options as Affinity Photo. Photos for iOS does an immensely better job of adjusting the color out of all three, and it comes with it's own unique set of issues. I'm aware that X-Trans files have been known to be problematic in the decode, so I tried adjusting some of my older files from Canon—6D, 60D, 20D, and Rebel XT. Everything Affinity Photo edits on iPad has the same blown highlights and flat color. Has anyone else had and overcome this issue? I'd be happy to learn form others and make life easier for editing, if it's at all possible. Thanks!
  6. Hi do allot of design work and I am working really hard on making affinity designer my main design software on iPad 2018. However, as I also use Adobe illustrator for printing. E.g. flyers etc. I just need to know what is my image dpi or how to rasterize the image to correct dpi for press printing? Thanks
  7. I'm trying to stitch a few raw files, and the program starts to prepare the stitch but then stops. There is plenty of overlap in each photo, so I don't believe that's the issue. Is there a limit on the file size or is this a bug ?
  8. Hi, In Photo for iPad, what is the equivalent of Option-Clicking a layer, to (in audio terms) 'Mute' all the other layers temporarily? I.e., to visually isolate a layer's display. Thanks in advance, - pbass
  9. Hello, I’m looking to upgrade my iPad Pro 9.7 which I’ve been running Affinity on for the last couple of years. Does anyone have experiences of the performance of the iPad Air vs iPad Pro?
  10. Hello Affinity Team, Is there a way to preview the cursor/brush size while painting or brushing? I understand the iPad doesn't have hover support but at least while brushing, I hope to see the boundaries of the brush. Thank you so much!
  11. There is no "Affinity Photo extension" in "Photos". I bought it for iPad yesterday and I am so disappointed not to see it in Photos. Is it expected to implement this extension as it existe in the Mac desktop version of Affinity ? In the present state I will never use this software. Affinity needs to have the same tools on mobile and desktop application. I plan to buy the Mac desktop version when this specific point, often asked by users, will be improved.
  12. With the abilities to drag and drop, and edit Affinity native file format in both AD and AP, it will be more efficient if these apps could do split view or slide over on iPad. I imagine that it can even do drag and drop not only an image but also layers and vector objects between AD and AP. Here’s my concept below.
  13. I've just bought Affinity Designer on my iPad (2018, 6th generation) and I'm really impressed. I Only have a bit problem with the pen tool: when I put nodes, I can't place them close to each other. I always need to magnify the picture when I would like to path small details. (I use Apple Pencil). What should I do? Maybe that is why I'm newbie to Affinity Designer. (Vectornator doesn't produce this issue, I can put nodes very close in this app) Thank You for helping me! Andras
  14. Hi everyone, I've just released a new 4.5 hour course at Udemy called Affinity Photo for the iPad: Special Effects and for an introductory offer you can use this coupon - ESPECIALFXIPAD to get the course for $9.99 instead of the full price of $59.99until the end of Sunday 14th April. The reason I did this course is because I've had a number of requests from people who use the iPad version of Affinity Photo but found it hard to adapt the tutorials from the desktop version of Affinity Photo: The Little Box of Tricks and Affinity Photo: Modern Special Effects to the iPad version. So I've taken a good cross section of the tutorials from both courses and recreated them for the iPad version of Affinity Photo. In these tutorials I show you how to combine the various Affinity Photo tools to recreate many of the most popular photo effects you can see today, and maybe come up with your own signature look. I show you the right way to use the tools along with any potential problems and things to watch for when you create a series of stunning effects. But flexibility is key here, so I'll also show you several ways to adapt your new recipes to meet the needs of different images. I'll make recommendations about which images are suitable for which special effect, and I include all the images I use on the course so that you can download them and follow along. I assume a basic knowledge of Affinity Photo for the iPad - the kind of knowledge you can get from Affinity Photo for the iPad - and here's a coupon to get that course for $9.99 as well - EMOBILE. But, because we will be using some of the more professional grade tools, I provide some reference videos which isolate and explain how to use them. It's so easy when you create an effect to get the feeling that the software is doing the talking for you. Well, we'll change that. I'll go into enough detail about how to use the tools and the right workflow to use that you will gain a deeper understanding of the entire process. You'll be creating stunning, flexible effects. You'll be making your photos shine! Thanks for your time, Simon
  15. Hi, does anybody knows if the is any method for replacing an existing image for another one in Affinity Designer for the iPad as there is in the desktop version? Thanks
  16. Affinity Photo for iPad is a powerhouse for editing pictures from digital cameras... one at a time. This philosophy is embedded in every single aspect of the workflow, from importing and making adjustments all the way to exporting. I have created an account on this website precisely to be able to ask the developers or marketers of the app (if they ever read this) who and why they’ve decided to blatantly limit the functionality of the iPad version of the app compared to the desktop version. The fact that this limitation in function is not mentioned anywhere in the description on iTunes Store or in any of the tutorials or promotionals videos is appalling and borders false advertising. But I guess the answer has been in the title all along...after all, it’s Affinity Photo not Affinity Photos... Inquisitively and respectfully, Mihai
  17. Has anyone of you lovely people experienced issues with guides? They used to work ok - a bit buggy, but now they're completely broken. If anyone has a hack to unlock artboard guides on ipad pro I'd be so grateful! When I navigate to guides>show guides I can't move any of the existing guides, the only function I can perform is to add new guides - but even though I can add guides, these cannot be moved by hand/apple pencil (only by adjusting coordinates). Many thanks.
  18. I know it's still early days with Affinity Publisher still being in beta for desktop at the time of writing, but out of sheer curiosity, are their intentions to release Publisher for iPad? I know there won't be any timeline or firm plan, but is it something you're thinking about?
  19. Using iPad Pro + Apple Pencil 2019 Once I have my guides set, I cannot drag them or move them at all. It appears as if they are locked - any help greatly appreciated!

    Having trouble exporting SVG.

Hi loves! Super affinity designer newbie. I make logos for clients & for some reason having a hard time exporting to SVG.. I’ve sliced before on most of my designs & I usually have to do it a few times until it magically works. The specific design I created is like another I did & the SVG export worked. For some reason I can’t figure it out. I bought the book & super love it... but it doesn’t go into a lot of detail about exporting sadly. Please help. I will add file & hopefully someone can get it! I know I’m doing something wrong if I have to try to 20 times before not knowing what I did right. Haha. Thanks so so much! Untitled Copy_10.afdesign

    Pen Tool Delay in Designer

Hello everyone, I’ve noticed a small issue with Affinity Designer for iPad. Whenever I use the pen tool to create a curved path, there is always a small delay from the moment I’ve clicked and dragged on the screen to the moment the path actually appears. This does not happen with the Pen Tool in Affinity Photo and non-curved paths also appear instantly. I’m using the first version of the 9.7-inch iPad Pro. I hope this helps.

  24. Is there any plan to support iPad mobile / touch interface for Surface (windows) platform?
  25. Hi! Does it make sense to wait for the light version for the iPhone in the near future? I really miss the pocket vector editor for accurate sketches ... with symmetry and sticking on the grid Or can you recommend an application from another manufacturer?
