  1. Attached a picture. Its caused by wrong settings with high speed sync flash. wonder if there is anyway to counteract it by subtracting lines? Like generating a series of black and white lines of certain frequency and softness? (How?) filter frequency? Im not sure
  2. Yesterday I downloaded the latest version of Desinger for iOS. First time I’ve used it. I have a few questions, mainly about masking, but wanted to star off with what I think, is a bug. ive rotated one of the layers in a document I’ve created. Only two layers. Ive done some editing on it, no issues there. When I go to export, the thumbnail showing what will be exported is showing the rotated layer upside down. The resulting exported files (I’ve tried a few things) are also showing this. I’m using a 12.9” iPad Pro 2020, iOS 13.4.
  3. I have attached a Dropbox link to a PDF version of the Affinity Designer IPad apps built in Help file. You can open this file in a reader or iBook and view it while using Designer. I hope you find it as useful as I do. Please note that this PDF is not in any way supported by Affinity, nor are they responsible for any errors or omissions, so please do not refer any errors or omissions in the Document to Affinity. Every attempt has been made (by me) to ensure the content is an accurate representation of the built in Help file, however some errors 'may' have slipped through . I will endeavour to keep it up to date (at least for a little while) . When Publisher comes out I may redo the layout (Pages is a little limited in the area of indexing). My Dropbox account is basic and limits daily bandwidth, hopefully that won’t be a problem. Here's the link to the folder. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/wulycsq0un4uo6i/AACz5hvGbGrteZB4E9q_HPI5a?dl=0 UPDATE The folder now contains two files. Thanks to the efforts of Glenn, the original file size has been reduced to a mere 14MB, with little loss of resolution. EDIT. Attached a low resolution (6mb) version to post. Fully functional. Enjoy. Enjoy Dave Affinity Designer Help File 1.6.1.39 (low res 6mb).pdf
  4. This bug was also in Version 1.8.2, but in the actual version 1.8.3 on my iPad Air 3 (2019) (iPad OS 13.4) it is still there. I cannot export my Affinity projects, the file size of the export is 0.00 bytes and I cannot save the file because there is no file. This error only occurs when I try to export with a higher resolution than for example 7000 pixels height. It seams like the export fails when the exported project is larger than ... megapixels. When I choose a smaller resolution, I works.
  5. What I want to do is apply an unsharp mask in Lab mode on only a and b channels, is this possible? In photoshop (desktop) I would convert to Lab, select the a and b channels, apply an unsharp mask with a large radius (say 80px) then convert back to RGB edit: figured it out finally, tap document icon with three dots then convert document, then it shows up at the bottom
  6. Hey there, So I cannot cannot open my PSD files...I’m using the (updated) IPad 2018 and the newest Version of Affinity. I want to import them from my iPad ( not cloud, Dropbox etc) . (The psd files are mockups with multiple layers.) The thumbnails are fainted so I can’t even click on them.. can anyone help me please ? THANK YOU ❤️
  7. With the abilities to drag and drop, and edit Affinity native file format in both AD and AP, it will be more efficient if these apps could do split view or slide over on iPad. I imagine that it can even do drag and drop not only an image but also layers and vector objects between AD and AP. Here’s my concept below.
  8. Serif allow customers to test new builds of the software even before it is released to the public. These "beta" builds offer an opportunity to trial bug fixes, add support for new file formats and show off new features before they are launched. This post is designed to be an aid to knowing if you are trying the latest beta version of the Affinity software on your platform. Product Name | Platform | Beta Ver. | ====================|================|===================| Affinity Designer | iPad 12.x-13.x | not available | Affinity Photo | iPad 12.x-13.x | not available | Affinity Publisher | iPad 12.x-13.x | to be announced | ADe and APh iPad Customer Betas require you to be an owner of the paid for version of the software to work. You need to have the purchased software installed on the same iPad as the customer beta. APu iPad beta has not yet been announced or released. If you would like to try the iPad Customer Beta build look for the top (pinned) post in each of these forums, the latest of which is posted in this thread: Affinity Designer beta for iPad forum Affinity Photo beta for iPad forum Affinity Publisher Public beta for iPad to be announced iPad build numbers and Windows/Mac builds are independent. The third number increases each time a public release is made, the last number is generated by a build server and so not directly related to each other. I will update/edit this post as new iPadOS Beta releases are added by the developers. This thread is locked and will only be posted to by Serif Staff when the beta release versions are updated. Please follow this thread if you want to know about future version changes. If you think this post has got behind announcing the iPadOS beta updates and needs updating please PM me.

  14. How do you do the equivalent of "Free Transform" in the iPad AP? I have a box in a 3Q view and need to put an image on one side of it. I am dealing with perspective and masking. I know how to rotate and skew, but I can figure out how to "free transform" for perspective. I have not found any tutorials. So I need your help everyone. Thank you. JG
  15. Is there a panel to input / edit the equations for the Procedural Texture filter in Affinity Photo on iPad? I can't figure out how to find it. Thanks.
  16. Since the newest update to the Affinity softwares (1.8.2) on iPad os, my font storage is out of wack in the apps. In fact, I can no longer search for fonts by first letter because they are no longer alphabetized. I have tried deleting all fonts and then reloading them into the app, but they will not all delete from the font preference pane. Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated. FullSizeRender.mov
  17. I have the doc "A Guide to installing creative resources downloaded from the Affinity Store." The Assets Studio is mentioned, and it tells me to import assets through the Assets Studio, but it doesn't tell me how to get those assets onto the iPad in the first place. Does the Assets Studio make a connection to my account on the Affinity Store and let me choose which to import?
  18. Hello, ‘I’ve been using the affinity iPad app for about a week now so I’m still fairly new but am used to the majority of its features and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made, being a fashion student we are constantly using adobe software and I’ve found this software gives me all I could need as a student like the option to make my own brushes for technical flats, but I had one question about how you can make patterns and then fill a shape in with said pattern I think in Adobe it’s called a swatch although I could be wrong, I hope I’ve explained this well enough it’s hard to word but if this was a feature this would be super helpful to me and I’m sure lots of other fashion students.
  19. Affinity Designer for iPad is crashing constantly when I use the vector brush. This only happens when I set the brush to 'Pressure' in the controller. I can use the pencil tool without the controller set to 'None' and have no problems. When using the vector brush with the 'Pressure' setting, it works for a minute or so, then the app freezes, crashes and my work is unsaved. I'm working on the latest version of Affinity Designer for iPad and on first gen iPad Pro with 256GB Storage (35GB free).
  20. I cannot find a way to open an image stored on my Google Drive from within Affinity Photo iPad. Please can someone guide me? TIA
  21. While creating a new stack, if images are being downloaded the app crashes after the first two have download. When the app re opens the 2 downloaded show up on the current work. Please see video. Device - iPad 11 inch Pro 2018 iPad iOS - 13.3.1 Affinity Version 1.8.0 IMG_0096.MP4
  22. Please see video, but when using a grouped set of vector images and adding them together via the Geometry - Add, system crashes. iPad Pro 2018 - 13.3.1 Affinity Designer - 1.8.2 IMG_0100.MP4
  23. Hi, I was editing some images on the iPad yesterday. I'm trying to force myself to use the iPad more for photo editing because I'm tired of doing a quick iPad photo edit, then have to recreate a similar but more detailed edit on the desktop... double the work. I've grown increasingly more trusting of the Photo app in general. I've had some "serious edits" done solely in Photo on the iPad... printed large and was happy with the results and accuracy. So, back to my question... I was editing about a dozen images yesterday in Photo on the iPad. They were all RAW images, shot with nearly the same settings of basically the same subject matter. I found myself doing pretty much exactly the same preliminary RAW edit on all of them. Is there a way that I can somehow save RAW edit settings, and them batch apply them to multiple RAW images on the iPad? I'm guessing not, but I thought I'd ask. If not for RAW, is that possible for JPG sources?
  24. Hi team. I hope you guys are safe and well during all of this COVID-19 chaos! I have a quick question regarding Affinity Photo for iPad. When I draw, the screen seems to blur or lower in resolution as soon as my Apple Pencil touches the screen, and then it smooths out again when I lift it. I did a screen recording to show what I mean, here's the link (be sure to watch in HD): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSQTuxV0E34 Why does this happen? It's subtle, but it can be a bit disruptive when doing finer detailed line-art, as I can't always see the smaller areas in as much detail while drawing. An example is the finer hatched lines in the video, which become quite unclear as soon as I put the Apple Pencil down. I seems to happen less when I'm quite zoomed in, but I tend to prefer working a bit more zoomed out so that I can see more of the content I'm drawing while I'm drawing, and not get lost in the details. Thanks in advance!
  25. Does anyone have this problem with screen flickering? It's a major problem for my updated iPad Pro 12.9. The problem exists for both the latest version of Affinity Photo iPad and the test flight edition. The only solution I've found is to restart my iPad. Restarting every half hour or so is not fun. The recording is about 39 seconds but it settles down a bit here and there before it gets bad again. And both apps crash way too much. IMG_1696.MP4
