Having defined a symbol and then created several instances in (say) a layer. You can't switch off/on the visibility of any one instance separately - all instances are either on or off. The visible property should be attached to the instance not the symbol definition.
Hi everyone, I got a question regarding the embedding of files (images, designer-files, etc.). Do I miss something or is it intended that you can't edit the original file but instead editing like an instance of the original instead? I have the following scenario: Graphic artist A: He makes the layout and the design of an ad. (filename: ad.afdesign) Graphic artist B: He takes the ad designed by artist A and uses them in a brochure. (filename: brochure.afdesign) Artist B embeds the ad.afdesign in his file with the 'place image tool'. Artist A makes a change in the file ad.afde

Could as well be called "personal graphics library" ... consisting out of (single or multilayer) documents that could be inserted in various documents as "instances" ... (references - internal as well as external). I could think of a multitude of situations where such a functionality would be extremely useful (Logosd, Watermarks, linked content from externam sources etc). And since the general code for such a functionality is already implemented in AD ... and will be essential in any publishing product in the fu
