  1. I did a bunch of edits on dozens of layers, which I then exported as a pdf and also individual images through export persona. During the process, I also made a copy of the affinity file, then continued editing, saved the original project (File > Save), then opened the forked one, edited that, saved it (I was saving the project several times in between my edits, via menu.) Today I wanted to continue working on it, but all my yesterdays edits are gone. I cannot imagine how that could happen, as the time of the files having been modified is the late night time from yesterday, the time after I made those edits. How could they all disappear from both affinity files? I believe that the last edits disappeared only after I finally closed Affinity Designer app, because I switched between the two projects I worked on a few times - I saved one, closed it, opened the other, and the edits were indeed there. They however disappeared - all and on both projects - over night, that is, after I closed the app, apparently. Steps I took: I opened previously saved affinity project A I did some edits on it and saved it by going to the menu > File > Save project I made its copy in Finder under the name B I continued editing project A I exported its layers into a pdf I closed A and opened project B I made some edits, exported the layers to individual png images and saved the project I closed Affinity (there was no warning about unsaved edits, I made sure I saved the project before closing it) This morning I open A and it looks exactly as I left it BEFORE yesterday's edits - all I did yesterday is lost. Same for project B. System: macOS Ventura 13.6.4 RAM 16 GB Processor 3,1 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5 Affinity Designer 2.4.0
  2. I've opened up an EPS file and I want to edit the textual parts and drop in my own Text and Data into each section. However, I can't find a way to do this. Normally I can see each letter and curve and can delete them, but now I can't Does anyone know why? Thanks
  3. How can I save the XMP file from a raw edit? or the option to automatically save xmp settings as in Camera Raw
  4. I'm not sure if this is the right place for this question - can anyone help me with what edits I can make to picture A so that it looks like picture B? Picture B is actually Apple's RAW algorithm on my RAW file while viewing it in the file explorer and picture A is just my RAW file. I'm only a photo editing novice so I'm wondering if anyone else can help. Main thing I'm looking for help on is the face. Somehow Picture B looks very naturalistic, smoother, crisper, all at the same time while bringing out details that don't really even seem to exist in the RAW file. Thanks in advance for any help
  5. I've recently started using the batch feature to speed up my workflow. I had a few recordings saved in the library but the other day I went to use one and poof...they were gone. I couldn't even see the default presets. Thinking that maybe it was a glitch I tried replicating one I'd made (I needed to edit a group of photos). Once I'd completed it I tried to save it to my library....nothing. No popup window no nothing, like the link had been cut. I tried resetting the program but it didn't resolve the issue. I dont know if I deleted the batch folder or something by accident, but regardless it's not working and I need this feature for my business. Can someone please help me??????
  6. Does anyone know of a tutorial describing the use of Affinity Photo as an extension in Apple’s Photos? I’ve tried to use Affinity Photo to edit my photos in Photos and I have a few questions. 1. Do I have a to save a copy of the edits I apply in AP as an AP document before the edits are applied and returned to Photos? 2. If I edit a RAW file, what type of file is returned to Photos? Is it a JPG? TIFF? I’m trying to incorporate Affinity Photo into my workflow using Photos and I’m trying avoid saving many different copies/versions of an image. Thanks. Ed
  7. Hello everyone, new to the forum and have used Affinity Design in a very basic way for some time now, and I can't seem to figure out how to cut out part of a shape. I have 2 letters surrounded by a circle to make a logo, but want to cut out part of the circle so one of the letters has space around it. I have attached a picture with a circled "W" that shows what I want my logo to do where one part of the w doesn't connect to the circle. Then you will see my logo with 2 red circles where I want to separate the white circle from the end tail of the letter b. I am ignorant about a lot of the graphic design terminology so please forgive me. I just don't know what to do.
  8. I've been wanting to do a color double exposure for a while but all of the tutorials are for photoshop and the steps don't translate to Affinity Photo. Can anyone explain this to me? here is one of the videos I've seen. https://photoshoptrainingchannel.com/color-double-exposure/
  9. I am having a difficult time "going backwards". I don't always seem to be able to use the (. < undo) command - sometimes it doesn't have any effect. How can I de-select individual edits and/or delete a line in the history index?
  10. while I'm editing photos using develop persona, I sometimes don't know if the edit change I've done has been applied fully or is still being applied For example, I change the noise reduction slider while I've zoomed into the picture, I wait and see no change so I try again and then the change becomes more than it should be since both changes have now been applied If there was a progress bar or something to indicate that the chaange has been effected fully, then a least I can move on to the next edit knowing that up to that point it is satisfactory We also could use a progress bar when the photo is being developed - sometimes I'm just waiting for minutes for the develope photo dialog box to disappear so that I can continue with exporting the image Can these be included in the next update?
  11. Is it possible to have any changes made to be shown on the layers panel under the relevant frequency layer as it would make it easier to make changes to a specific area who's layer was edited with se the clone stamp tool etc. Right now it's pretty difficult tracking the changes made in each frequency layer when retouching portraits.
