In AD 1.6.1 I am having what I think is strange behavior with symbols. After creating a drawing from a set of symbols, then attempt to organize the symbols in the drawing front-to-back (or stacking) using the SHIFT & COM + [ or ] keyboard commands, all instance of the same symbol moves, They can't be independently reordered. Does that make sense? I have also had instances where, if I move a symbol to the back, notice that the other symbols have moved back as well and hit CTRL + Z, all instances but one disappear. I can't say for sure if the instances of a symbol were consistently duplicated using Copy/Paste or drag/drop from the Symbols window, but should that matter?
Hello, guys at Serif. For example, every time I resize a photo, I'd rather use Lanczos 3 non separable. But Affinity defaults to bilinear every time I do Ctrl+Alt+I. This is frustrating and tedious. I cited this case as an example, only. There are many things in which the program could memorize the user's way of being. Make the program smarter. The default for Artistic text tool is Arial 12 align left. Always and always and always... This is horrible. The program need to memorize my last use of each tool! What I do in Photoshop in a few clicks, or in a single click, I need to do in Affinity with many clicks. This is frustrating, irritating, tedious ... The Edit / Preferences menu has few options. This is very poor in options for the user. There could be many more options like default font preference when using the artistic text tool tool, choose my preferred export preset, etc, etc, etc. There is a need to extend user preference options at least 10 times. I already posted this on another topic, but no one paid attention! Another thing I've been reporting for a long time, the error of copying / pasting effects giving different values to the target. How long this will continue? Please, Affinity team, stop making deaf ears. Pay attention to the needs of your customers, at least this time.
christovw66 posted a topic in Affinity on Desktop Questions (Mac and Windows)...me again - I am determined to learn this software (it's actually been a blast, just have so many basic questions - thanks for your patience) With the help of MEB, Alfred, R C-R, Callum, and MANY others I have learned a lot but am certainly still in the novice category. I have a relatively simple image (1 - 2 layers) that I want to save in my AD Assets-Panel (a custom panel created for this project). I've saved/moved a number of other images into this panel previously with no problem, simple click/drag operation. However, with this particular layer I'm seeing something I haven't seen before...when I click/drag, the image seems goes to go BEHIND the Assets panel and stays there, unseen. No vertical blue-bar appears in the A-panel, and upon release of the click/drag, the image does appear (or 'stick') in with other Assets. Anyone know why I would see this behavior? One additional Assets related query: what is the trick/procedure to assure the reasonable sizing of an image before dragging it into the Assets-panel so that it is not EXTREMELY LARGE when I access it for use on a newly opened image? Yet another basic skill that I'm 99.9% sure I've missed along the way. Cheers! Hope y'all have a great weekend. -Christo
Transform panel : when I press 'Enter', it will quit the process. Stroke panel and Opacity Box : when I press 'Enter', it remain in the process so when I try to press any shortcuts, the values in the input box will be edited. I really often adjust stroke values then hit 'Enter' and then press 'P' to use pen tool to continue drawing but I cannot. It's really awkward for me, please fix it for the next version. Cheers. :)
