crashing when exporting in a new folder

I get AP to crash everytime I use the export persona when I create a new folder to export the slices to. It crashes directly after creating the folder (which does show up in Finder) I use a iMac 2011 with el capitan
Unable to get export file picker to appear

I was unable to get the export "choose directory" file picker to appear. Restarting 1.4 and then 1.4.1 b1 a couple of times made it come back, with no changes made to the file. Console says: Two instances of this shown in this file: console.txt

Export persona crashes

I was getting ready to export a multi-dartboard document as individual PDFs (all with the same settings). Everything was fine up until I created a new folder to save to, inside the Save window that pops up after clicking on the Export Selected button. AD managed to create the new folder before crashing, but didn't export anything obviously...
