Seems 1.9 have some new bugs. One of them is a glitch on hiding object/layer where it seems to affect multiple object/layer that's not selected even on different artboard. Here's a sample vid of the bug There are lots of weird stuff as well like mask within a group in symbol sometimes jumps across the artboard when the symbol is inserted to other artboard or one of the object inside it is moved (I tried to replicate it in this video at 0:18 mark but it's not happening, so just ignore this part) I'm gonna jump out of this 1.9 ship and go back to 1.8, hopefully other people can post proof of the other bug. I have some deadlines and not gonna deal with this bug. Also my system is Lenovo Y700-15isk, Win 10, Intel i7 6700HQ, GTX 970M, 16GB RAM. Update from latest 1.8.5 to 1.9 (not clean install). Thanks lads Bug.avi
Having defined a symbol and then created several instances in (say) a layer. You can't switch off/on the visibility of any one instance separately - all instances are either on or off. The visible property should be attached to the instance not the symbol definition.
Hello, I'm really enjoying Affinity Designer so far. There are so many convenient features to help make vector illustration more fun and efficient. I recently discovered symbol bugs on Affinity Designer for Windows PC. The bugs never occurred before the last AD software update. After duplicating a symbol, I'm unable to arrange the symbols independently using the 'Move to Back' function. The duplicated symbols move together, even when only one is selected, while using the 'Move to Back' function. I also can't disable visibility without them all being turned on or off simultaneously. A macOS user recently had a similar problem, from this thread:
Hey! I am not sure this is a bug or this is by design but for me it seems to be an inconsistency. See the animation. If you hide an instance of a symbol all others get hidden too. I don't expect this to happen because if you delete an instance of a symbol all the others don't get deleted. Should be the same with hiding in my opinion. Sometimes I have to hide only a single or several instances of a symbol but I can't do it and have to delete it instead... Maybe this could be changed in future? All the best, Chris
