Adding a mask to a layer/group will multiply the end result's opacity by itself, since the mask inherits the opacity; so a 50% opacity layer/group will look like 25% opacity if a mask is added. In the attached file, the right layer and group are given a mask, and as such they look half as opaque as on the left (because 50% * 50% = 25%). (And the more masks you add, the less opaque it will end up being (so long as the opacity is not 100%), because each of them will inherit the opacity) Alpha Bug.afdesign

Hello. As the title said, object with opacity less than 100% became less than that when masked. In the example provided: Two sets of examples, the top row and bottom row. The top-left circle has black fill and opacity of 50%, the middle circle has the same fill and opacity, but masked. The result is a lighter color, same as the right circle with black fill and opacity of 25%. The bottom-left circle has black fill and opacity of 25%, the middle circle has the same fill and opacity, but masked. The result is a lighter color, same as the right circle with black fill and opacity of 6%. Most likely the opacity became squared after masking: For the top example, 0.5 * 0.5 = 0.25 -> 25% and for the bottom example 0.25 * 0.25 = 0.0625 -> 6.25% opacity-sample.afdesign

I am doing the graphic design of a game using SVG filesI was using Adobe Illustrator CC, but exporting SVG files in AI ruins the gradient, shapes, so I switched to affinity designerThe problem is that when I open any SVG file, the color of the vectors looks wrong, pale, without saturationI think it could be because the color settings, and display settingsWhen I export the file as SVG, the colors display correctly in other software, such as inkscape/illustrator (as should be) but not in affinity designer, so yeah, the problem is about displaying the colors in the software correctly. _______ These are two examples of the same file open in different softwares - (Affinity open the Affinity file.PNG - SVG screenshot) __ - (Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape or other software or browser open the SVG file.PNG - SVG screenshot)

Hi folks, I'm noticing a behaviour which feels completely wrong to me (.afphoto beta file attached): • Create a basic rectangle shape and fill it black • Duplicate this shape, set it as vectorial mask of the first created rectangle, draw a gradient from 0% to 100% opacity black. Your document should preview like this: • Deactivate the mask for a moment and set your layer opacity to 50%, the preview should look like this: • Activate back the mask. Here is the problem to me: I see this a pale preview (0% to 25% opacity) while I should expect a preview from 0% to 50% opacity. Why the mask is double affected by the layer opacity value??? What I see: What I would expect: MaskOpacity.afphoto
