  1. I have taken many pictures with my new Nikon Z8 mirrorless camera. When I try to open the RAW files (NEF), with Affinity Photo V2, I obtain a blue background. and it is not possible to develop these files. JPEGs appear normal in Affinity photo V 2.4 Is there somebody who can help me? What should I do ? Or is Affinity Photo not able to read NEF files from the new Nikon Z cameras?? Best regards, Tomas Wilde
  2. My wife and I recently transitioned from Nikon DSLRs to mirrorless. We went with the Z9 and Z8 cameras. I hate Adobe Photoshop and its ridiculous pricing scheme. So I researched alternatives. Based on several reputable photographers' recommendations I purchased the Affinity suite. After shooting our first airshow this weekend, I discovered that Affinity Photo won't open compressed Raw files for the Z8 and Z9. Needless to say, I'm extremely frustrated because none of the reviewers mentioned this limitation, and I had to dig several layers into Help, and these forums to find the "fine print" that is literally a footnote saying only lossless compressed is supported. I did find several "marketing" blurbs highlighting support for all modern cameras, including Nikon. This seems like false advertising to me! These are not new cameras, and their respective compression formats are also not new. Given that compressed Raw is not currently supported, should I assume it never will be? Does Affinity publish a roadmap for supported formats? Based on the cameras and the type of shooting we do, we have to use the Nikon Raw compressed * (star) format to get the burst speed and buffer depth needed for airshow photography. So making the change on the cameras is not an option? Does Affinity offer a refund policy if there's no other option? Thanks in advance.
  3. all my older nef files work fine - but my new Z8 nef files will not open in Affinity Photo 1.10.6
  4. I read in another thread that Serif had resolved the issue of Z8 raw files not being recognised in Affinity Photo - by issuing 2.4 beta. I installed this beta but it gave an error message that this file type is not supported. Confusing! Mac OS Sonoma 14.3, M1 chip.
