  1. Has anyone else notice odd behavior since the 1.9 update? I'm on Windows 10 Pro with a highly capable laptop and 3 monitors. 1.8 was rock solid and fast... A few things I've noticed: 1. file load times (File|Open) seem significantly longer than previous versions. 2. linked documents cause host programs to hang/crash. for example, a muti-artboard designer file when placed in publisher causes crashes when the designer file is updated. In some cases the update time is quite long (3 minutes at worst for me; others it simply hangs). 3. designer with multiple artboards instantly crashes when attempting to print.
  2. EDIT: It was reported in the Bug Reporting board that the issue is caused by the Paragraph panel. I closed it and it actually solved the problem. Hello people, I've been working with the Affinity suite for a year now, and it has always been blazingly fast. However, since I've updated to 1.9, Affinity Designer and Affinity Publisher have been extremely slow even just to move or transform a single picture. By extremely, I mean a one second of delay for moving or resizing a single photo inside the canvas. I can literally see the individual lines updating when I use the Move Tool. I've tried switching the rendering engine to Warp, but it keeps slowing down to a crawl. I've also updated my nVidia drivers to the latest version, but nothing changes. This issue doesn't seem to affect Affinity Photo. I should basically have to revert to 1.8 in order to be able to use the suite. 3. Thank you Dan C. for the group message to the 14 of us who had posted about the 1.9 updates crashing on launch. I personally only had problems with Affinity Photo 1.9. I went through all the suggestions in your list and didn't have much luck. The driver is up-to-date (I wasn't surprised since this is a new computer - only 3 months old). I couldn't find anything else relevant to my problem. But somewhere it mentioned to make sure I had the latest Windows update. So tried that thinking I did have the latest since I get automatic updates. But there was one available so I asked for that one to be installed. It took almost an hour and a half but when It was done I had Windows Version 20H2. I've always had versions numbered like 1909 so this looks new to me. Anyway when I logged into my computer I tried starting Photo 1.9 and it started up but while it got further into the start up it wasn't acting quite right. I exited the program and immediately launched it again. The second time it seemed to be working right! I loaded a couple old projects I had completed and they seemed right. I guess it is too early to say for sure but I think that solved MY problem and may solve others. I really appreciate all the work you did, Dan, to find all those relevant links. They scared me because I'm not very tech-savvy when it comes to the inner-workings of the computer. But the instructions were so well written even I could follow them. So thanks again, Frank
