  1. Hi all, Here the result of a long night chasing the last milky way for this year. It is a stack of 42 shots edited in Affinity photo with develop persona, plus other 2 for the foreground and the person (that's me!) shooting light to the universe. Sky has been stacked in sequator software, than the compositing has been done in AP, with all the fine tune required. 2 little problem found: - developing raw one by one it takes a long time; a method to apply raw settings to the entire group would be very usefull - TIFF exported from AP have something wrong. I faced several errors with them and I don't know why. It seems something well known… (using JPG everything went smooth, but I lost the 16 bit and you know, jpg… bah…) However, here the final result. Hope you like it. Have a great week end, see ya! G:
  2. The following are edited from RAW files from the Nikon D5300.
  3. Hey everyone. This is a piece I finished recently in Affinity Designer. I wanted to create the look and feel of 70s retro scifi illustrations and at the same time I wanted to stay 100% vector. No traces, no bitmaps, no pixel layers. Critique, opinions and questions welcome :D
  4. Exercise with Xenon Ok so I wanted a forest design for my latest eco–vid. Started playing around and came up with a surprising glimpse of creativity. Process: Open Affinity photo. Download a nice forest photo from the internet. Copy, paste and flip horizontal, drag and fix to form a symmetrical composite. I purchased the Xenon brush pack from Affinity store and used them to create effects. I finished with a galactic brush to add the vibrant green mist. This started out as a simple play with brush and finished with an interesting picture. Not complex just try and see. It’s not rocket science, just good old fashioned work and play.
  5. This is just a recent vector drawing I did. Just started using the app and I needed to get the feel of different tools! Planet Phoenix.afdesign
  6. I've actually been drawing for this Inktober mainly in Blender 2.8 with grease pencil. However the last three days I needed a deeper, more painterly and textured look - perfect for the painting tools in Photo. Ironically, it was the special prompt list from Adobe, which made me switch back to Affinilty for those days
  7. Here's a space related infographic I've been working on. It was all built in Designer.
  8. Composite image of trawler rescue by UFO Images, Trawler, stormy seas, background clouds, pattern overlay of city lights on a shape taken from an image in germany of the ufo. Brushes and light flares to produce engine drive effect.
  9. Here's my first creation in Photo:
  10. Latest Photo creation:
  11. Created entirely with Affinity Photo and my fractal artwork.
  12. Decided to create a spacescape in Photo. It's my first one using Affinity Photo and only Affinity. Very interesting and fun. Ran into several bugs, especially related to slider usage and maximum numbers and reported these in the bugs forum. Enjoy!
  13. "Ray-Gun-Omics Poster" Affinity Photo Digital Illustration Instagram - @chaos3rdeye Website- www.chaosabzu.com Stay tuned for more!
  14. Here are a few of the illustration that I created for a site I just finished working on. All the final images were SVG files but many of them started with a photo reference or with original art created in Photo. There are a few that were all done in Designer as well. For some of the images (such as the quasar and the fusion image) I also used Flame Painter which is a fractal paint application and would then bring those elements into Photo to composite and adjust them to get the final art. I can go into more of the process if anyone is interested. Cheers! Jeff The Universe from A to Z
  15. As part of my scheme to transfer from natural media to digital illustration, I set myself an exercise of making a sci-fi book cover illustration. Not that you see much of this sort of thing these days, but I was a big fan of Chris Foss in the 70s when his work was gracing the covers of many books. One thing I missed during the process of making this image is a way to warp and tilt objects. Perhaps I'm just missing something. Anyway, I think I'd be confident to present vector artwork files to my illustration clients at this stage. I tried to go digital in the early naughties with a program called Painter but it was a disaster for me -I was trying to use the program like natural media and the quality plummeted! I've also attached the initial scamp which was also done in AD in the Pixel Persona using my Wacom Bamboo tablet.
  16. So I started a personal story project about a year back with characters and backgrounds made in Illy - had a few hours to myself this Sunday evening so started to re-produce the hole series in Affinity.
  17. Another in a series of space exploration themed posters featuring quotes from Carl Sagan.
  18. The first in a series of space exploration themed posters featuring quotes from Carl Sagan.
  19. Sunday afternoon illustration...(well and a bit of saturday evening too)
