  1. A picture in an abandoned residence I took and edited with Affinity Photo V2. Perhaps useful to people but the way I go about it is: 1) File > HDR Merge 2) Select your HDR stack/bracket 3) Deselect Tonemap (you can always do it later but imo its not a good starting point ) 4) Merge the HDR and Edit all you want.
  2. Using Affinity photo, I managed to turn a source image into an illustration using the G'MIC plugin and HDR merge functions. Used G'MIC Engrave and Autobalance, HDR Merge with dramatic tone map.
  3. i did try play little bit with HDR
  4. HDR of a the Plästerlegge Waterfall in Germany, NRW. 5 Single takes with Auto Bracketing mode -4,-2-,-+2+4 merged with HDR Merge in Affinity Photo.
  5. It's 44c hot here -- working up to 46c . the record is between 46 - 47c ; but will drop to a 28c tomorrow!! This is a true "grab-shot" that happened while doing other things. Made from the three bracketed files -- just time for one click with the camera held above my head. Honest comments and questions welcome as always
  6. All the best for 2019mostly done in Affinity -- +Lr5. Not going to add too much here as I'm just putting a few thoughts to the test for better Panoramas and Manual hrd/blending as done in the top images. Hoping to share a few ideas sometime this year lol the panorama is west to east ; around 160 degrees. Around 6 -8 Pana Fz300 raw files . Handheld btw Starting to get the old head around Ap; yet there is so much I still need to get up to speed on Questions are welcome
  7. First-time poster, completely new to photo editing, totally new to AP, pretty new to photography. I really only processed this scene to see if I liked Affinity Photo and whether or not I could get my head around it. The video tutorials are excellent and laid out in a very logical manner. I must commend you guys on the work that has gone into them. I didn't use 'Develop Persona' for this as I hadn't done those tutorials then....I have since discovered how powerful 'develop' and overlays are though...amazing. The original photos (3 of them were bracketed +/- .6 ev) and were taken on a Nikon d90 with a 18-105mm lens. I used HDR merge, inpainted the tourists, bins, shoppers, bikes, benches and bollards, out of the foreground and mid ground. I used selective masks to retrieve blown out detail and saturate some of the brick tones, defringed and added a final adjustment to overall brightness contrast and a little overall adjustment to final exposure. I am not an artist, I am not even particularly creative...but I was amazed at this software. The export function was very slick too, processing a 230MB Affinity Photo down to 2.2mb with the slider set to 80%. Oh and it took me less than an hour on my iMac Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017. I have now purchased Affinity Photo ... I just love it.
  8. I've been away from the camera for some time now, but last night I decided to revisit a photo I had produced late last year. This was a 3-image HDR shot while vacationing in Northern California. Processed in A.Photo... I was just playing around with some settings, nothing too serious. I realized that I haven't had much time to play with the latest features in the app and I'm hoping to change that soon.
  9. My first attempt at using the HDR merge function in AP. I used three exposures: -1, 0 and +1 stop.
  10. Here is my first attempt and my latest attempt at doing a 'HDR' image in Affinity Photo. It's coming along but still needs some work. Far better than the first attempt though.
