  1. Make the View/Zoom menu more robust and flexible. Compare the zoom menu from Gimp app and Affinity Photo Beta app below. Notice that the Gimp app allows for 16+ possibilities for zooming in and out including the ability to set custom zoom factors. I would like to see these features in the Affinity suite of applications. https://www.gimp.org/
  2. Windows 10 Home 1809, Designer 1.7.0.231. I've just noticed the following problem: * Open Designer on my main monitor, basic HD, nothing fancy (scale at 100%); * Create a new document and put a 2 inch square on it; * Zoom to 100%; * Measure square, it's 2 inches square - as expected; * Move Designer window to laptop display, basic HD, just whatever came built-in (scale 125%); * Measure square, it's now close to 1 and 6/8ths of an inch square - not great, but easily fixed; * Zoom to 100%; * Measure square, it's 2 inches square again - as expected; * Move Designer window back to main monitor; * Measure square, it's now just under 2 and a half inches square - but we should be able to fix that; * Zoom to 100% and... oh dear, that's wrong; * Measure square, it's now just under 3 and 1/8ths of an inch - some thing has gone wrong somewhere. And no amount of re-zooming, minimising the application, or anything else I have tried will fix it, it stays looking too big until I re-launch the application. Just saving the document, closing it, and then re-loading it doesn't fix the problem, I've got to bounce Designer entirely. Designer is set to use the built-in - default - Intel GPU.
  4. Zooming with the Brush tool selected — in a tiny 726 KB file — is super slow on the latest beta. If I switch to the arrow tool everything is normal. I'm using a Magic Mouse and the option key in conjunction with the scroll gesture to zoom.
  5. Hello Everyone, Well, i maybe missing something but i can't Zoom in and Out on ADesigner since the last beta install. Tried to reset stuffs in there but nothing does... Well it is something i use a lot on projects ... like i said maybe i'm missing something here on how to get it working again. Please instruct me and if it is a Bug of the new beta, please advice for a workaround. Blessings !
  6. The three finger tap to control redo conflicts with ipad's zoom feature. How do you reset either the zoom feature controls in ipad settings or change it in affinity??? Right now when I 3 finger tap the zoom loupe overlays the screen and it is in the way.
  7. In Adobe you hold Cmd Space to temporarily access the zoom function. This is a tool I use all the time, it is so useful not to have to come out of a text box, hit Z, zoom, and then go back to the text. Zoom to selection helps a bit but isn't the same. Any chance of a key combo for "temporary" access to the zoom?
  8. Windows 10, Build 178. When I switch personas - doesn't seem to matter between which ones - the document zooms in a little. See attached GIF.
  9. Hi, I use every day this app on my iPad Pro and I love it but I have a problem: impossible to move little object with no zoom. The app auto select the anchor point the object and resize or distort object and I can’t move. Is it possible to disable the anchor point or reduce the auto-selection? in this video I can move only with zoom thanks 2CCF06F1-8F08-4AD7-AD4F-3564F3285E8D.MP4
  10. I'm wondering if using zoom keyboard shortcuts could zoom to selection. For example, I hit Command-0 to zoom out and see what my page looks like and then hit Command-2 or 3, etc. to zoom in, but what I had selected at the time is not in the center of the page, so it is out of view and I have scroll around to try to find it. Maybe there is another way to do this without the extra step of typing 'z', which won't work if I am in text editing mode.
  11. In a document with multiple pages, shift-command-drag should zoom in on the marqueed area but instead zooms in on the pasteboard somewhere above page 1. Single page documents zoom in as expected. Using the Zoom Tool works as expected. [macos Sierra 10.12.6]
  12. I wished there was a way to increase the Zoom Factor for interactive Zooming of documents. As a long time Photoshop user I am heavily used to a far higher default Zoom multiplier in their Scrubby Zoom. In order to zoom in from 100 to 200% on a 800x800 px document one in PS only needs to move the mouse or the pen a few millimeters sideways – faster dragging even increases the enlargement speed. What might sound crazy indeed works extremely well (it’s Photoshop’s default scrubby zoom behaviour). And zooming and panning also looks nice, because motion doesn’t stop harshly: There’s a dash in of inertia (easing out) added as seemingly also the case in your Ipad apps. In Affinity apps for the same 800x800px document my hand needs to travel at least 3 times the distance, for every larger document (any RAW) one even needs to travel the input device a few times in a row (set the hand back to the starting point) and motion stops harshly as soon as one lets go. You certainly do not like reading this – but this all feels sluggish to me. Can Zoom and Pan get a speed boost and some polish please?
  13. Hi guys, thank you for reading this. I would ask you to consider a very smart and intuitive way to navigate the canvas. Illustrator (and also Photoshop with some minor difference) uses the modifier keys Ctrl, Alt, Shift and Space in combination to activate or deactivate certain tools. This solution is very useful and super fast because you do not need to move your fingers over the keyboards and you do not need to hit a key twice to activate/deactivate a tool, but with just 4 keys you can access to all the navigation tools, like pan, zoom, select, and so on. You probably already know what I'm referring about, but I'll add a list of the most common combos (please note that being a combo means also to hold them together while using the tool): Ctrl = Object Selection (or, if Object Selection is active, it triggers Element Selection) Ctrl + Space = Zoom In Ctrl + Space + Alt = Zoom Out Alt = Drag Copy (also after clicking for drag, atm it works just before) If you have to deal with conflicts among other shortcuts, like combos already used for other functions, please contact me and I'll be happy to deal with it. Finding the same interface as the most popular software would have many advantages: - reduce frustration and improve experience using the software - reduce adoption time - triggers interoperability between software (so you can use the same habits while switching from one sw to another...yes, someone still does) - uses a model already spread and tested, based on years of experience I totally understand that this is another software and it's normal to not expect to find the same stuff of the competitors, but this is not the kind of thing that makes AD positively different from its competitors (imho of course); making the transition from one software to another as smooth as possible for as many users as possible I think is more valuable. I and a bunch of other folks would really love to find these combos in the next updates. Thank you for your attention. p.s. dear reader of this topic, please, add here other combos that you would like to have in the future.
  14. Can you guys include this feature in Photo/Designer on the Windows version? I use floating windows for things like Views when working at different zooms, on screens with differing resolutions, etc... it is really essential to my workflow. They take up an unexpected amount of space often because they do not adjust to the size of the document when zooming further out, and so I have to adjust manually which can't be done easily to precision... so an option like in photoshop to automatically adjust the window size on zoom would be very nice...
  15. I have been fiddling with how to zoom and pan with my Wacom tablet. Managed to get the zoom to work by rotating the touch ring. For panning, at one point on one file, I can pan using 3 finger swipe gesture. The other time I created the new artboard, deleted the old one, the panning with gesture just stopped working. If I swipe 3 fingers, it select the object instead. Then I tried holding spacebar method, the tool just got stuck in "pan" forever. The only way to get out of the pan mode is to click the hand tool once, then click the other tool I want to use. Is this a bug?
  16. Having watched the quick Vimeo tutorial I have to wonder how an image can be truly representative of the size, since although the software can determine your actual working system resolution, how can it know your screen ppi? Have I missed or misconstrued the point or is this a real matter?
  17. Could we get some options to adjust zoom behaviour? Option to always (initially and/or consistently) display documents at the nearest rational zoom level (e.g. 1:3, 1:2, 1:1, 2:1, 3:1, ...) Option to always initially display documents at 1:1 (with option for "Small images only" and "All images") Option to always use nearest-neighbour scaling for rational zoom levels greater than 1 I would also prefer it if the zoom level could be made to never change unless the user requests it.
  18. During trial, I was able to scroll the touch ring on my Wacom Intuos Pro for zooming ( couldn't do pinching as I always do in Illustrator). Today just purchased Affinity Designer, I can't zoom with anything. Rotating the touch ring only scroll up and down. Any fix?
  19. Hi Affinity team, I would like to request the ability to toggle the direction of the mouse zoom. Currently, the system for AD/AF is inverted compared to the rest of Mac OS. That is, I hold Alt + drag-finger-toward-me on the magic mouse to zoom in, and the reverse for zooming out. I would like the option (perhaps a checkbox in settings) to be able to match the Mac OS system; thus, when toggled on, I would hold Alt + push-finger-away-from-me on the magic mouse to zoom in, and the reverse to zoom out. This would match things like the system zoom and other applications (such as Sketch). Keep up the great work. Cheers!
  20. Hi, is there a Shortcut like "alt" + "SPACE" for active zoom in/out like in photoshop for Affinity Photo?
  21. Hi guys, Is there a shortcut to ZOOM TO 100%? Other programs have Ctrl+0, is there such a feature in Affinity Designer? Thank you, Chris
  22. Hello! I’m testing Autodesk Sketchbook with Wacom Intuos Photo Small tablet. I can zoom, rotate and move (in any direction) canvas with two fingers, without take fingers off tablet. It is very comfortable. Can you implement such feature in Affinity Designer / Photo (Windows)? I love Affinity software but I miss comfortable manipulation of canvas. Sławek
  23. Is there anyway I can hot key the ability to toggle the zoom tool to "ctrl+space" like it is in photoshop? Same type of hotkey setup as just hitting the space bar to toggle the view tool. Z activates the tool permanently and it dynamically zooms in. I just want to be able to hotkey the toggle. Thanks, - Ken
  24. Hi Affinity. First of all, thank you for your excellent products, I've been waiting for something like this for a long time. I want to bring your attention to one problem that I haven't found mention on this forum and that is zooming with Ctrl + Space when you have Free hand selection tool activated. When I press Space the cursor changes to hand and the pan works, but when I also press Ctrl nothing happens. With every other tool it works as expected.
