  1. How do I zoom the FFT display in Affinity Photo Windows version. All the help says is hold down the Alt key??? Nothing I have tried zooms the FFT display. Help
  2. I've been using Affinity Designer (on Windows 10) to make some vector art which has large and small shapes. So I zoom in and out primarily using Ctrl + + and Ctrl + -. Say I'm at 100% when zooming in it will enlarge to 150%, if I zoom in again it will go to 200% and then 300%, 400%, etc. Is there someplace to change it to keep using 50% steps? Or is it better if I start using the Zoom Tool with Z? Thanks.
  3. It would be great if Designer allowed to temporarily switch to the Selection tool by pressing the Control key. I find it frustrating to keep pressing the V key to initialize the Selection tool. It would also be great if pressing the Ctrl key + the Spacebar temporarily initialized the Zoom tool. Thanks, Dawid
  4. So far i cannot see a way to bind a hotkey to Next/Previous Artboad (like Page Up/Page Down). I suggest its strongly needed if you want to continue Atboard and Pages development. Also, to name a main menu item Layer instead of Object it's a bit confusing 'cause it contains almost nothing to do with Layer and everything with objects.
  5. In the following topic I discovered that there is not an option to turn off scrubby zoom (and therefore turn on marquee/area-based zoom) in the Windows version of AD as there is in the Mac version: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/32241-ad-features-request/?p=164936
  6. Hi guys, first of all, happy new year to everyone! :) My problem is related to using a Wacom tablet with Affinity Photo (1.5.2. beta 2 right now). When I try to change the brush size as I would do with my touchpad, or mouse (pressing Ctrl+Option and sliding the cursor up-down or left-right) on my tablet with the pen, nothing happens. It's like the feature is waiting for a click to activate, but I can use the tablet otherwise perfectly fine (as far as I've seen). Is there an option in AP to check, that I am using a tablet device for input, or something? I may have overlooked that. ---------- My second issue is with zooming, in Photoshop a handy way to zoom in documents is by pressing Command/Option+Space (both works, but Cmd+Space interferes with Spotlight or Siri) and dragging the mouse, especially when using a tablet. Is there an equivalent feature in AP yet, if not, are you planning to add it? Thanks! Regards, Balázs
  7. Hi Affinity Team, GREAT work on both Designer and Photo!! I use both programs at my 9 - 5 and now purchased for my new business venture too. Super productive, elegant software :) There is just one little gripe I have with both programs; I check 'use mouse wheel to zoom' as I find this much quicker to navigate the canvas. However, I spend a large chunk of my time in 3D CAD platforms where using the scroll wheel to 'pull' and 'push' objects nearer/farther feels much more intuitive. i.e. scrolling back 'pulls' the object closer, and vice-versa. This means everytime I switch between 3D and 2D platforms, my brain gets a jolt when I try to 'pull' the canvas closer and it gets pushed away. It's a small detail that tends to make my workflow feel much less seamless than it could be. ...long story short, can you pleeeeeeaaase add a 'reverse scroll wheel' feature?? I'd be forever grateful ^_^ ...and I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say there'd be a bunch of other users that would benefit from this too. Thanks! Hope to hear from you. Regan.
  8. Hi! A couple of suggestions for the keyboard shortcuts, this is for both Affinity Designer and Photo Activate the Zoom tool with Ctrl + Spacebar (key press order matters here)Currently pressing Spacebar + Ctrl will activate the zoom, but the inverse key combination will not. I often press these two keys together very fast and I can't reliably activate the Zoom tool. Zoom tool shortcut as jump keyZoom tool should be temporarily activated when you hold down the tool shortcut (the z key), once you let go the previous used tool should be selected again (see how Photoshop does it). It should also be possible to quickly switch to the Move tool by holding down the spacebar key. Thanks!
  9. Hello everyone! Sorry if someone already asked this (although I did a quick search and didn't find an answer), but where exactly in the Preferences>Keyboard Shortcus menu can I change my default zoom in/out option from ctrl + mousewheel, to alt+mousewheel? I found a 2015 hotkeys cheat sheet for AFDesigner that, surprisingly, says that the default zoom option should be with the "alt" key and not "ctrl", but I guess something changed since then... thanks!
  10. Several requests focused on ease of use: Brush size: Rather than having to go to the toolbar, let me press, say, ALT and drag my mouse to change size. Show the changing size as I drag my mouse so I can quickly and easily get the size brush needed. The request is similar to how one can change brush size in Lightroom. Changing zoom factor: There are some screens where it seems I cannot change zoom factor without leaving the tool in use. Let the zoom change work at any time in the midst of any tool without having to leave the tool. Pete
  11. Hi Affinity. First of all, thank you for your excellent products, I've been waiting for something like this for a long time. I want to bring your attention to one problem that I haven't found mention on this forum and that is zooming with Ctrl + Space when you have Free hand selection tool activated. When I press Space the cursor changes to hand and the pan works, but when I also press Ctrl nothing happens. With every other tool it works as expected.
  12. On my uhd-display, the zoom level is incorrect, an image in HD is shown 75% width on 100% level. When I scaled down on about 67% its shown the correct size
  13. Hello, first and foremost - thank you for this amazing software. I'm coming from Fireworks, never finding Illustrator to be exactly what I needed. I'm very impressed with what you have here so far and keeping fingers crossed for further development. Here's the bug I'm encountering since I started using the first betas, nothing new. Reporting now because of RC status. It's related to moving an object with keyboard arrows and zooming in/out in-between. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create new file, draw a rectangle. 2. Using the zoom tool (draw persona) zoom rectangle's top left corner in, enough to notice single pixel position differences. 3. Select move tool, click the rectangle to select it. 4. Tap arrow down few times to move the rectangle down by few pixels. 6. Select zoom tool again, you don't need to use it. 7. Select move tool again, rectangle becomes selected automatically. 8. Tap arrow left once. Expected behavior after step 8: Rectangle should move left by one pixel (one arrow tap) Actual behavior: Rectangle moves left by one pixel AND down again by the same amount of pixels we moved it before switching to zoom tool. It works the same with all directions, not only vertical/horizontal combinations, but all of them (ie. moving down and then down again after switching between zoom and move tools). It doesn't seem to happen when switching to other tools. Seems like it's repeating the same movement transformation again. Good luck :)
  14. Hello! I tried your software, and very like it. But I can't leave Photoshop and Illustrator, because in Affinity I can't find some important features which i need: 1. Zoom like a Photoshop (hold and drag Ctrl + Space) - this is very powerful feature. Because Zoom Tool and Ctrl +\- is a slowly and not productively for work. 2. I can't find, how to assign hotkey for a different palettes, like a Color or Brushes. If this functions is exist, please tell me. Thanks!
  15. Please add the ability to zoom in and out with the mouse scroll wheel to Affinity Photo for Windows. In Photoshop, that ability is available as a user interface option and it saves me an incredible amount of time when doing dust spotting or other fine detail work. Thanks!
  16. As i work in Pixel Perfect mode i use zoom options every single time. I need fast option to zoom in 100% mode from any other zoom. Going to Zoom tool and then selecting 100% from drop-down is too long for me.
  17. When I tried to zoom in to 400% in my drawing just now, I was surprised to find that Ctrl+4 gave me a zoom level of 800% instead of the 400% that I expected. Using Ctrl+3 for 400% seems very unintuitive! We already have defaults of Ctrl+1 and Ctrl+2 for zoom levels of 100% and 200%. Wouldn't it be better to have defaults of Ctrl+4 and Ctrl+8 for zoom levels of 400% and 800%?
  18. Hello, as a long time photoshop(also seeing same mechanic on Sketch), I'd like to be able to hold zoom and click in order to zoom in and hold z+alt+click in order to zoom out. Right now when I hold Z or Z+alt, I hear repeated error sound, which is really annoying.
  19. When zooming while using the eyedropper, the magnifying glass still uses the old zoom. I do this when the eyedropper isn't precise enough. I've version 1.5.0.28 When zooming while using the eyedropper, the magnifying glass still uses the old zoom.
  20. I know how to bring up the Measurement guides by holding CMD with an object selected. However, at 100% this is fairly useless for objects near one another, as the label font is microscopic (see attached.) How can I make it so I can actually read the text without needing to zoom in to ~1200% every time? Thanks!
  21. Why there is error sound come out when I press space+cmd+click for zoom in or space+opt for zoom out. I use version 1.5.
  22. Downloaded the Affinity Designer Windows Beta yesterday (27/09/2016) and found every time I zoom in or out (using the zoom tool or by navigating to the view menu and zooming from there) the application crashes. I receive an error message which says: "An Unhandled Exception has occurred and the application cannot continue. The Crash Reference dialogue will be displayed when the application is restarted. Code: 0x80070057" Upon restarting, the message is: "Affinity Designer has been restarted after a serious error. The error report will now be sent. Reference: 1690be94-851f-46ae-928d-8fd98b7dcbf4" Anyone else having this problem?
  23. Hello together, I dont use mouse wheel to zoom, I am working with a wacom. On a wacom, zooming in Designer always breaks up my workflow, because when e.g. using the move tool and then change into zoom with "z", I also have to switch back to the former tool by an additional keystroke. My suggestion is, if the z key is kept pressed while moving the mouse and is then released after mouse movement started/occured, designer automatically switches back to the last used tool. This - in my opinion - integrates zooming more into a fluent way of working with designer (not only on a wacom). Also leave a short single press to switch to zoom tool as a "permanent" tool. A timing threashold will be needed, I think. Thanks and regards
  24. Hey Serif, I just updated my Affinity Designer to 1.5.0.12 from the previous version and now my scroll wheel doesn't do anything in the program anymore, can't zoom or scroll up and down and to the sides using the mouse. Funny enough this works on my stationary PC But the issue is on my laptop. I didn't touch any settings and even after a restart still nothing. Disabling touch pad didn't fix it either.. Anyone knows what the issue is?
