  1. Hi, I just downloaded the trial version today [25/09/2015] and installed it on my 2 week old iMac with Yosemite. Presently I use Photoshop Elements 9 and didn't want to spend a lot on more software for my new computer. I like the initial look and feel of the program and the fact that command-L brings up the much used levels option that I am used to. Another aspect of Photoshop that I sometimes use is the clone stamp tool and I tried this next, It works the same way as Elements in that alt-click selects the starting point and shows a little "+" as the source point. But when I start trying to clone the way I do in Photoshop nothing happens. Opacity and flow are both at their default 100% and hardness at 80%. Am I doing something wrong?
  2. Hi folks, I'm new to mac and I've been looking around for some good photo editing software to use for creating concept art. Affinity looks excellent for its price and I worked with Serif software before switching to mac so I know I'll be using good software. So I'd love the purchase it. But, my mac only has a 32-bit version of Yosemite OSX. I was wondering if the software would still work for what I wanted it for which is mainly painting using a pressure sensitive Wacom tablet. Any advice on this would be great Thanks!
  3. Just as the title says. I did a fresh install of Yosemite on my MacBook Pro after getting my logic board replaced and now Affinity Designer is gone and there is no listing in the AppStore to allow me to re-install. Anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks in advance... -N
  4. How is Affinity's compatibility with Yosemite? I see a few bugs have been reported, but was wondering if there was anything "official" regarding the latest Mac OS update.
  5. One of the things that really bugged me about my PS / LR workflow is the way that Photos would get passed back and forth between the two apps. With a typical workflow you start with a Photo in LR and then need to send it to PS to do something that LR can't do. LR makes a copy of the photo so when you are done editing it you now have two similar photos in your library. If you decide you want to edit the photo again you now have three copies and then four etc. The way this operation should really work is you make an adjustment in Apple's upcoming Photos app, say move the brightness to 27, and then when you export the file to Affinity Photo it uses the same photo instead of a copy of the photo. You should then see your brightness adjustment of 27 in Affinity Photo and then be able to make an adjustment to the brightness again to 15 which should then show up in the settings to Apple's app as you return back to it. I can understand some of the reasons why Adobe's workflow was clumsy, they were trying to get a 17 year old app to work with a brand new app after all. But now that both Apple and Affinity are both starting out at version 1 and at essentially the exact same time let's try and get the way this works under control. I disagree with many people on this forum that Adobe's photo solution works pretty well I think there is a huge opportunity for taking on Adobe in this area.
