  1. I'm using Affinity Photo 2.3.1 on Windows 11 and I cannot figure out how to assign shortcut keys. I looked at the affinity help and I can't figure out where to change the shortcuts. It says to look at the end of the shortcut listing for something to change. I see nothing. I've seen screenshots from Macs, but I haven't seen any screenshots from Windows and what I'm seeing does not match up with the ones I've seen and it looks like I'm missing something. "From the lower shortcut list, click in the box (containing empty or existing shortcut) at the end of a shortcut entry for the shortcut you want to change." I'm looking to assign the paint mixer brush as 'b' like the regular brushes. Please let me know if you need anymore information or screenshots from me. I did try to search multiple times and did not come across this issue with anybody else.... just a few threads where people were asking how to change the shortcuts.
  2. Problem: When exporting to TIFF, any of the Subject, Tags, Comments metadata fields are corrupted (changed to Chinese characters). Usually the Subject and Tags or the Subject and Comments fields are corrupted depending on scenario. Steps (Scenario 1): 1. Add metadata tags to a TIFF file in File Explorer. 2. Open in Affinity Photo. 3. Export to TIFF unaltered (with ZIP compression). Steps (Scenario 2): 1. Add metadata tags to an image in Affinity Photo. 2. Export to TIFF (with ZIP compression). Steps (Scenario 3): 1. Add tagged TIFF files to Batch process in Affinity Photo. 2. Use Batch process to export TIFF files unaltered to TIFF (with ZIP compression). The goal of resaving the file with ZIP compression is to workaround the bug in File Explorer that saves tagged TIFF (Zip) as TIFF (LZW) at about three times the size. However, I currently have no editors available that can save a TIFF file with metadata intact without corrupting it (this is also a bug in all Adobe products last time I used them, which was quite some time ago, and the reason I would attempt to use File Explorer to add metadata after editing). Side discussion: Compression is an interesting problem. On top of the metadata tagging in File Explorer roughly tripling the file size by converting to LZW, simply embedding a TIFF in an AFPHOTO file roughly doubles its size, and if the layer is rasterised with no modifications whatsoever, the AFPHOTO file doubles in size again (even when saved as a fresh copy to compact it). All of this adds up to massive (and expensive) storage waste. They say storage is cheap, but it isn't cheap enough to want to buy three times as many hard drives at several hundred dollars a pop to do the job of one. For the sake of not sharing family photos, examples are a frame exported from Blu-ray movie for desktop wallpaper. Tags made up to be "typical" (with Unicode characters). [Explorer bug has been reported to Microsoft.] export.tiff original.tiff
  3. 1. Unable to edit embedded vector content after creating an artboard to extend the canvas. (see screen recording below) DESIGNER-ISSUE 01.mp4
  4. I am using a windows 11 surface laptop. Anytime I create a new booklet, I select the following: press ready letter, facing pages, it automatically says 8 1/2 x 11, create. When it opens, it is in ledger form and 11 x 17. This did not use to happen, and I don't understand why it is now. No matter how many times I try to create a new booklet this happens every time. When I try to correct it in document setup, the first and last page are really wide. Please help.
  5. I just bought the summer bundle, and this is on a new Windows 11 machine. I initially installed the MSIX version and that didn't work so I uninstalled and re-installed the EXE version from the website with no success. By wouldn't work I mean there is no splash screen of anything loading or any logo which appears when you click on the icon to run the application. It simply spins for a second like its loading and then stops. GFX Card: AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT I downloaded the OpenCL checker app v1.3 and shows the following: I also clicked on the "Create any missing performance XML files" also: -- DISABLING PERFORMANCE SETTINGS IN XML FILES -- Done! I also attempted to download the tool via the Microsoft Apps Store and still nothing... And also removed it via the commands I found on the forum: PS C:\Windows\system32> AppxPackage –AllUsers -Name *Affinity* PS C:\Windows\system32> AppxPackage –AllUsers -Name *Affinity* Name : SerifEuropeLtd.AffinityPhoto2 Publisher : CN=741E57F4-B601-44AA-8C5D-1C53938DF6CE Architecture : X64 ResourceId : Version : 201.1.1847.0 PackageFullName : SerifEuropeLtd.AffinityPhoto2_201.1.1847.0_x64__844sdzfcmm7k0 InstallLocation : C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\SerifEuropeLtd.AffinityPhoto2_201.1.1847.0_x64__844sdzfcmm7k0 IsFramework : False PackageFamilyName : SerifEuropeLtd.AffinityPhoto2_844sdzfcmm7k0 PublisherId : 844sdzfcmm7k0 PackageUserInformation : {S-1-5-21-2778743256-3644303494-760898238-1001 [rborz]: Installed} IsResourcePackage : False IsBundle : False IsDevelopmentMode : False NonRemovable : False Dependencies : {Microsoft.VCLibs.140.00.UWPDesktop_14.0.32530.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe} IsPartiallyStaged : False SignatureKind : Store Status : Ok PS C:\Windows\system32> Remove-AppxPackage -Package "SerifEuropeLtd.AffinityPhoto2_201.1.1847.0_x64__844sdzfcmm7k0" PS C:\Windows\system32> Any help would be greatly appreciated! 6. Hello, how to fix this? It should show all info in Thai but it's alien language. Already update to 2.1.0. The file is .pdf. Thanks in advance
  7. Hi everyone I've been trying to not let this get to me, but now it has become too annoying for me to not raise it. You see, the issue I have is that the Affinity Publisher icon on the taskbar is a completely different size to Affinity Designer and Photo. The icons are fine on the Start menu in Windows 11, so why are they different for the taskbar? Hope one of the developers can take a look and amend. Apologies that it's not a functional issue but for a designer, it's just 'niggly'.
  8. I cannot insert special characters (Character Map) in all Affinity apps on Windows, using the Alt + 0149, Alt + 163, Alt + 169, Alt + 174 and Alt + 176 hotkeys. I can do it in other applications (Notepad, Notepad++, WPS Office, Libre Office and VectorStyler), except Microsoft Word. My operating system is Windows 11 Home Single Language 64-bit (10.0, Build 22000). This is the first time I installed Affinity software on my PC and the version is 2.0.3. I have restarted the PC after the installation is done.
  10. Hei, I've been using Affinity products for a while now and never had similar problem. Suddenly, most of Publisher documents crash after adding new pages. Even those documents I have worked in a while ago. It is impossible to work, and the documents consist only of several pages. I have Windows 11, and already tried the following solutions without results: Updated Affinity to the newest version (1.10.5.1342) Checked Windows for any driver updates Tried adding page without attaching it to master page Uninstalled and installed Affinity Attached you can find some of the crash reports and the document I worked in when it happened first time. Hope you can help me. Let me know if you need any more information. 11. I am trying to run the Affinity suite on Windows 11 ARM64 (4GB RAM), installed from the Microsoft Store. I expected that the apps would be slow but usable under x64 emulation, but all three (Photo, Designer, Publisher) crash after displaying the splash screen (and a warning about lacking a DirectX 10 graphics card and falling back to software rendering). The Windows Event Log shows the following backtrace: Application: Photo.exe Framework Version: v4.0.30319 Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception. 12. Bonjour la communauté. Merci à tous ceux qui donnent vie à cet espace et qui permettent de trouver des solutions. Yesterday I installed an update on windows 11. Today when trying to open a project in Affinity, it closes automatically. Whether it's "open a recent project" or "create a new one". Can you help me?
  13. I'm just moving to a new PC running Windows 11 pro Version 21H2 (22000.832) Installation of affinity-photo-1.10.5.exe worked well Running then Photo.exe fails: short splash logo, window opens for a moment and closes immediately Eventlog shows .NET Runtime error eventID 1026 Anwendung: Photo.exe Frameworkversion: v4.0.30319 Beschreibung: Der Prozess wurde aufgrund einer unbehandelten Ausnahme beendet. Ausnahmeinformationen: System.AccessViolationException bei <Module>.Raster.Buffer<Raster::Red8,Raster::Green8,Raster::Blue8,Raster::Alpha8,Raster::X5>.Clear(Raster.Buffer<Raster::Red8,Raster::Green8,Raster::Blue8,Raster::Alpha8,Raster::X5>*, Boolean, Boolean*) bei Serif.Interop.Persona.UserInterface.FontCellControlHelper.CreatePreviewBitmap(System.ComponentModel.BackgroundWorker) bei Serif.Interop.Persona.UserInterface.FontCellControlHelper.EnumFontsW(System.Object, System.ComponentModel.DoWorkEventArgs) bei System.ComponentModel.BackgroundWorker.OnDoWork(System.ComponentModel.DoWorkEventArgs) bei System.ComponentModel.BackgroundWorker.WorkerThreadStart(System.Object) Ausnahmeinformationen: System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException bei System.ComponentModel.AsyncCompletedEventArgs.RaiseExceptionIfNecessary() bei Serif.Interop.Persona.UserInterface.FontCellControlHelper.OnRunWorkerCompleted(System.Object, System.ComponentModel.RunWorkerCompletedEventArgs) bei System.ComponentModel.BackgroundWorker.OnRunWorkerCompleted(System.ComponentModel.RunWorkerCompletedEventArgs) bei System.Threading.ExecutionContext.RunInternal(System.Threading.ExecutionContext, System.Threading.ContextCallback, System.Object, Boolean) bei System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(System.Threading.ExecutionContext, System.Threading.ContextCallback, System.Object, Boolean) bei System.Threading.QueueUserWorkItemCallback.System.Threading.IThreadPoolWorkItem.ExecuteWorkItem() bei System.Threading.ThreadPoolWorkQueue.Dispatch() With Affinity Designer and Affinity Publisher there is a similar but slightly different behavior: Programm could be started but after entering email and key and accepting licence agreement the window closes and eventlog has same error message.
  14. AD version: 1.10.5.1342 OS: Windows 11 Home, version 10.0.22000 Build 22000 I've noticed that when selecting this object, even though it has a 40.6 pt stroke, the slider ball stays all the way to the left at 0.
  15. I have been experiencing an issue with AD when attempting to copy an object either with ctrl+c shortcut or through the context menu. When copying an object in AD, my desktop begins to flicker non stop which prevents me from clicking and keeping focus on anything. This is includes any application running and not just AD. The only way I am able to prevent it is to go to the login window and log back in. This behavior happens regardless of which app I have open and am actively focused in when AD is open. For instance, when the flickering is not occurring, and I am in my Mozilla browser and do a ctrl+c, the flickering begins. I do the login window/log in to reset the flickering. I close AD and do the same thing in Mozilla, and the copy works fine which then makes me believe it is an AD conflict with the OS or something. This behavior occurred in both Windows 10 and 11 since around March/June time (so whatever AD versions were active then) and on different computers. Current version is 1.10.5.
  16. Hi there I'm a long time user of all three products, on my Windows desktop (meanwhile on W11) as well as on my iPad. Now I recently realized that the App is also availabel in the Microsoft Store, though of course still with a price. My question now: is there a way somehow, that I can transfer my license from the Desktop App to the Microsoft Store App? Thanks in regards, Martin
  17. I change my old HD Windows 10 PC for a new 4K Windows 11 PC. I downloaded and installed Affinity Designer and now I have two problems (see the screenshot) : 1. When I click to create a new document ("Nouveau" in French), I get a black screen with only the right tool bar. I have no preset template and it is impossible to get to my personnal templates (and they are on my new computer). 2. Also, note that the "New Document" window do not show entirely. The only thing I see figures in the screenshot. Can you help me to solve this issu? Thanks!
  18. Best regard. 1) I have tried Affinity Designer and I liked it a lot to illustrate, but unfortunately it has a performance problem in windows 10 and 11. When I make illustrations with many objects, the program becomes very slow, when moving objects, when moving the stroke modifier bar (it is so slow that you have to enter the number otherwise it is impossible), when applying effects, when modifying figures , when moving a point. I have tested the program on two PCs: In both runs the same, slow. 2) And another problem is that it pixelates a linked element as I show it in the attached image. I have to get very close to be able to see it well. Now the problem is also that when I export it, it does it wrong, it exports it with the pixelated image and it shouldn't be like that. Thank you for your attention.
  19. For users who are using Win 11, for me is the beta 1.10.5.1227 the best way to work under Windows 11. I can use it with OpenCL ON and don't have problems with freezes or hangs . There is a better system memory behavior. Regular 1.10.4 hangs on every minute when I use brushes in witch way, mostly it hangs on high memory use. And no OpenCL.
  20. I find the font -size in Help way too small, but I can't find a way to change this within Help (maybe it's too small for me to spot it ;-)) Is there a way to do this, or if not, a hack to do it that will persist after software updates?
  21. While editing files in Designer v. 1.10.4.1198 the system suddenly shuts down. I am using a PC with the AMD Ryzen 4900H hardware and Windows 11 Pto. The application is more unstable when working with embedded bitmaps. It is more stable working with files on my Dell XPS 15 laptop. I am using the most recent AMD drivers for my system. I tried disabling OpenCL acceleration for AMD Radeon Graphics. Any workarounds or fixes would be appreciated.
