  1. Hello, I was very happy to know that affinity is available in window (even if it is just beta for now). However, as an Arabic person I found that Affinity Designer doesn't support RTL or Arabic text. I was very happy to share the news about the beta version of windows, but most of Arab Designers will need RTL support. Middle East and North Africa (MENA) is huge and having RTL support in your product will be fascinating and many will abandon Adobe products for sure because of the lower price with high technology Affinity support. We just need support for add
  2. Hi I have just installed the windows beta version on windows 7 with an old wacom intuos 3. I have pressure on raster brushes but the vector brush pressure does not work. Is this me and my settings or is it not supported yet? I have the pressure option set to on and I have tried other options and played around with the pressure graph, but it doesn't make any difference - all the stroke is the same thickness. Hope it was okay to start a new thread I'm not used to forums. Advice appreciated, Cheers Adam
  3. Hi, please, can you give us just a hint, when the Affinity Photo for Windows will be out (or Beta)? For some of us whether to subscribe to A for a year or.... :) I have not read any rumours about that for long :) Thank you Jindra
  4. I am using Affinity Designer 1.4.2 on Mac/El Capitan and have several design files on Dropbox. Having to work on a logo for the office, I installed the Windows Beta on my Dell/Win8 at work and edited one of the files on Dopbox. Then I had 2 issues: 1. Export to .eps left me with a file with a less then VGA resolution. Shame, but since I should be able to export from the Mac I can live with that, the Windows version still being beta 2. Exporting from Mac is a no-go however because, and this is serious, the now edited file which is saved from the Windows PC can not be opened by the Mac version
  5. Hello, Am trying out affinity designer in windows and would like to know if its possible to have/select mulitple layers to export as one single slice (from export persona)? Thanks.
  6. Currently run beta designer for windows v1.5.0.4 (win8.1 i5 2500K overclocked to 4gHz 8GB RAM, Samsung SSD + many other hard disks.) Created my master piece but the print shop wants me to give them the format in pdf, OK no problems, but... When I export to print I (original use document resolution) end up with extra image information (like it is displaying the edges of the images- perhaps you cold call them shadows or lines) in some places. When I use the export to "pdf export" option these anomalies don't show up. The image in designer doesn't' show any "extra shadows-
  7. I can't believe how this software can be this affordable compared to Adobe CC. Definitely switching from Illustrator and Photoshop. Very valuable software. Works without any issues on this specs (Acer Aspire 3820TG): i5 M450 (2.4 GHz), 4GB of RAM, HD 5650 VGA, 120GB SSD.
  8. Affinity installed Windows, but the menu does not appear all that I see in the version for Mac. For example, do not have the option Document, Arrange and Filters. Enabling these options? I have also seen all the tools in the left panel. How to do this? Also could not move to the Portuguese language Brazil. Only a few items are converted (translated). Thank you very much!

  10. Hi all, It's been a while (don't ask) but I'd thought I'd update this list. There are now 18 tutorials on the channel, more to come. Created to enhance your skills and knowledge of Affinity Photo & Designer and take them to the next level. Don't forget to subscribe to stay up to date. These were created before the 1.5 Beta but you'll still benefit from them. If you would like to see anything in particular just leave a comment below. They are all FREE and always will be, why? Because 1. The apps are so awesome and changed the way I work 2. There is such a great community on here and
  11. About The Box Set is hundreds of vector and raster brushes made for Affinity Photo & Designer. Each brush was handmade using real materials scanned at high resolutions and crafted to simulate real media. I wanted the origin of the brushes to have a heritage of the materials they are simulating. Scanning pools of watercolor, swatches of paint, and stipples of charcoal contributed to creating brushes with the same idiosyncratic material magic. My only request is that you take these brushes, with their clever names, as suggestions. They work superbly out of the box, b
  12. Hi, just wondering, will .afbrushes be compatible between the mac and windows version?
  13. Hey guys, I was wondering if I am able to switch from mac to pc version of affinity when I purchase this program. I don't currently own a mac or might not get one at all. So If I do buy the mac version, could I get the windows version when it does get released in the future. Thank you for taking a look at this question, and thank you for helping me with this issue. I do own a Windows computer and sadly I have to transfer most of my files from pc to a mac in school or work area for working in different programs that are not available to pc.
  14. I just switched from PC to Mac and I have a lot of files in AI created on my now dead PC. When I try to open my AI files with 'open in', AD is offered as default, but files are blank. What to do? Is possible to open AI files created on PC in AD? Do I need some additional soft to translate my old AI files, so that AD will see them?
  15. Consideration for having a larger delay before a window tries to absorb another on tabbing/docking of floating windows. Anyone that realizes the efficiency of Expose on a Mac will rarely have that many docked windows. By having windows constantly trying to merge right away while trying to get as much workspace for windows becomes disruptive. Or a check mark in preferences to turn the docking/merging off altogether.
  16. Hi, I have been using Illustrator for years, but after I tried this Affinity Designer, now I hate the subscription and uselessness of illustrator. For my work environment I need to use Windows, but I use Mac at home. So my question is, Are you planning to make Windows version? If you could... I would love to use it instead of illustrator...
  17. I have an AD file that is primarily created from Vector components and I need to send the file to an external graphics printing company, pretty urgently actually. This graphics company uses Windows and primarily wants an Acrobat PDF, or possibly an Illustrator file. The problem is, whenever I Export from AD to PDF it converts some of the Vector components to bitmaps, which then causes a lot of problems. I have even tried exporting to SVG and then converting that to PDF using Gapplin. However, that too results in vectors being converted to bitmaps. So, how do I export an AD vector-based do
  18. Hi Affinity devs! It would have been great if Affinity Designer was able to export in emf (enhanced meta file) format. I believe it's a more widely supported format on the Windows platform than any of the current vector-based export formats that AD offers. Since Serif has a solid history of developing great windows applications, that would be a piece of cake, wouldn't it? ;) /Miro
  19. Hard to believe I'm the first one to request it, so I assume my quick search simply didn't involve the proper tags. :3 That said, please please please please consider developing for Windows. I have a Mac at work, sure, but they're going to demand I stay on the office-standard Photoshop (lest things get weird) and I don't feel like paying 5x the amount the hardware is worth, so I rock a Windows PC at home—but I'd love to get in on this. Adobe has been losing their luster with their ever increasing money-grabs, so I really want to support their competitors...but you all develop exclusive
  20. Hi I've just been over to have a peek at the Serif  based forum and saw some year old posts... https://community.serif.com/forum/photoplus/880/anything-for-macs Are the Affinity Staff allowed to poach ;) these Mac users? Ooh if only they knew then, what we know now.
  21. I have one question that may be one theme of my settings or just don't know. I use to change a lot among 3 or 4 windows within AD but now when I switch between some windows the last one changes to Export persona, so everytime I change to one window this appears in Export persona and is kind of annoying because i've to switch again to the Draw persona, so can somebody help me please. Thanks in advance.
  22. I created a New View of my currently open document, and AD creates a second tabbed window in my workspace. However, when I try to invoke the standard Mac OS X Command - tilde ( ` ) keyboard equivalent to switch windows, AD doesn't respond...
  23. I have seen this topic come up a lot on these forums and in social media and I was just curious what kind of workflow people are using that would make working on multiple platforms beneficial. I first started using graphic apps like PageMaker, Freehand, and Photoshop in 1995 when the difference between Mac and PC probably hit it’s lowest point ever with the introduction of Windows 95. At the time it would have not been logical to develop for only one of those platforms given how little difference there was between the two of them. Being cross platform was helpful to me at the time since our gr
  24. Are there plans to make a Windows 7 version of the Affinity products? Many designers use Windows rather than Macintosh computers to design every day. I was excited to see an alternative to Adobe's Creative Cloud product. Bummed to see it's only for Apple computers.
