Hello Affinity Team, GREAT UPDATE! Request! ( for all the programs , designer, photo, and publisher ) when i downloading content from the account window, I and probably other really need the option to where its downloaded to. My C drive is OS only. I have all my programs and content on D drive. I need the ability to save or move these downloads off my C drive as there is limited space for the OS only. Is there a way now to move them and re add the assests manually? Perhaps a option for downloads later release? Gary

I've been using Affinity Photo more lately and there are a few things I'm still trying to figure out. One thing I use often in Photoshop is the crop to pixels feature, you just make a selection and click the crop tool, the crop tool then automatically snaps to the outer most pixels around the selection then you just apply the crop for a pixel-perfect alignment. I have tried this in Affinity Photo as well as manually cropping and it doesn't seem to be able to do this. In some cases it's easy enough to manually crop, but this is not ideal for anything with semi-opaque pixels or glowing effects where clipping may occur if it is not cropped accurately. Is there a way to do this in Affinity Photo? -
beta 1.9.0.923 after patch tool

Hi, i got a corrupted file while using the patch tool. The file is private, if you can provide a private upload link i can share it with affinity staff only. Used 5 TIF files with perspective filter and masks used a pixel layer atop for final tweaking with patch tool when the beta stumbled. Luccily, a have a stored version before and after the crash. As soon as i swicth from pacth tool to hand/move tool the file ets corrupted.- 2 replies

Can I own Affinity on my windows PC and Mac without having to buy the software on each device? I work on my PC at home and on my Mac when im on the go? Is there anything I can do without having to buy the program(s) twice? Will greatly appreciate any response. Thank you! -
Hello everybody. I am not sure if this is a bug coming from Affinity Photo or Windows or if it is even a bug bu here is the deal: I know you can alter the hardness and size of the brush by holding CTRL + ALT + right click and if I perform the shortcut everything works as it should. However, if I want to perform the actions with my pen stylus instead nothing happens. I only get this annoying white ring as seen in the attached picture. My pen (Wacom Pro L) is set to perform right click and it works. Only Affinity Photo seems to not get the right click input from the stylus... Can somebody please help me? It slows down my workflow so much it really gets me angry and frustrated. Is there a way to set the shortcut combination to something different? I tried to find it in the settings but the only thing I can find for brush size ist [ or ] and that does not help me. Thank you in advance for your help! I am really looking forward to it. I bought affinity photo and designer last week on my iMac and I am very happy with it. I talked to someone else who owns it, and she said she first used it on Apple and when she switched to Microsoft, she could just install the software there. However, when I download try to the software on my Windows laptop, the files are not supported: they are clearly installers for Apple operating systems. So I was wondering, is it possible to get the software for windows as well (or do I need to buy this separately)? Thanks already, Jip -

Hello, I am having repeat difficulty rendering panorama's since latest update to 1.7.3.481 Continual repeat crash when rendering panorama's (regardless 50-350photos each) PC Specs: i5, 4670k, 4.1ghz (water cooled, temps under 75 Celcius when 100% cpu) 32gb DDR3 / 1600 (XMP 2400) Raid 0 2x1tb Windows/Program Raid 10 4x4tb (Source folder's) 4tb Spare drive (stand alone) RX590 8gb "fatboy series" AMD Video Card. 3x Benq 24" Displays (1920x1080). Windows 10 Latest updates. All drivers thoroughly up to date. Page file not on Raids, just the spare 4tb. Affinity Photo, i've set for 8, 16, or 24gb's (it uses upwards to 28gb's if I max it of the original ram, before page). Still same issue. Right now I have 4x "pano" source folders, (1,2,3, & 4). All Source files are JPG/ Taken by Samsung S8+ 13mp each I believe. Folder 1: 355 Jpegs, Total 2.19gb Folder 2: 310 Jpegs, Total 1.98gb Folder 3: 276 Jpegs, Total 1.53gb Folder 4: 116 Jpegs, Total 723mb (0.72gb ish) I've tried a catch all at once, toss them all in and see. What is found, then render. I've tried separately to just do folder 4, or 3, etc, smallest first I figured... It can get to the preview part, but when rendering... after a few hours the app fully exits/crashes. I've monitored on Task manager. The drive/memory/cpu and some GPU is used. I'm grasping at straws here. I have done the intel raid check. 0 errors entirely. I've defragged thoroughly. I've trimmed startup apps, scheduled tasks, etc. Literally minimized to maximized performance. I've even set priority of affinity photo to "above normal" I'll happily adjust or customize settings further if any theories help. I recognize panorama's take TIME. I know this thoroughly. I check back every few hours to see progress pro/con. If anyone has suggestions/idea's, hugely appreciated. What else is needed here to proceed/gain support, but proactively in the right direction? - RMLeLoup P.S. Thanks in advance for the thorough read. For some reason I thought Affinity Designer allowed Plugins but it doesn't. I would like to replace my Fireworks obsession with Affinity Designer. The things I value most in Fireworks are - vectors, as separate objects, can be grouped. (tick) - objects can have effects applied and be editable as vectors (tick) - effects can be extended using plugins, even photoshop plugins, allowing for editable vectors to display with torn paper effect and change the torn paper settings as needed. (fail, no plugins, no plugins as layer effects) Affinity Photo also does not extend the layer/live effects by allowing 3rd party photoshop filters as far as I can tell either. I can't even get it to use any plugins from Photoshop 5.5, 8 or CC 2015 but that might be my own bug. -

I'm new to this software and still trialing but falling at first hurdle. When I am adding an image to a letter it shows correctly until I print - then it misaligns. Can someone help me please? I've attached image to show my issues. Thanks

I'm a new user for Affinity Photo. I've bought it today and started using it. My problem is that I can't find the text tool on the left bar along side with the brush and other tools. I found all the text editing dialogue but I can't type to begin with. -
Hello, I am facing a peculiar issue. I have two windows laptops on which Affinity photo is installed. But only on one of them I get this error when exporting an image after finishing the edit - If I turn the embed metadata option off, then it works. However, on the other laptop there is no such issue. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling affinity photo on the machine, but the issue persists. Incidentally, the machine with this issue is the faster of the two. How can I resolve this? Thanks in advance.

i saved my project in Affinjity Photo own format. when i open single layer project where i place photo top it in this drawing what i have this single layer goes top of picture even normal layer mode. earlier is fully replaced things what are bottom of layer stack. of course i can put photo back of this layer when looks what i expect. or i forgotted how i used them. actually photos (when i added jpeg to of png) work way what i expect. this affinity fle thing is actually useful doing one thing if use such document in guidelines (they are not part end project) of whole project. they show then top of all elements. oddness is these cases work different way and this affinity documnet way is better actually this what i try do. -
Today I got strange behavior in operation version 1.8.0.703 after windows update this morning. After removing the white paper from a developed ARW file I try to remove the background with the background remove tool and mouse, both strike to work in normale mode. The XPPen work alone with 1 pixel or total not. The same with the mouse. I have trye the leatest beta and there its working sofar normally. The pen is working like I wanted. Some more have this problem? -

Publisher is great. Started Freezing often. I lost much time in-between my frequent CTRL+S for frequent file saves/restart/freeze cycles. Found many other people posting about freeze and crash items. Noticed several that mentioned connections to fonts. Too many fonts installed, freeze during font selection, etc. ) So I looked for a font I had recently installed and was sprinkled throughout my text. PWSERIFSCRATCH. I removed this font from my text. And still crashes/freeze continued....Ooops, missed two spots. Once all instances of this font were removed from the text box I was working on that spread through 10 pages, the freezing stopped. All is good now. I still reflexively hit CTRL+S every few seconds, but so far it has been working fine. Some thoughts....On a good day, Publisher uses 2GB of memory. Not even Chrome uses this much memory. When it crashes, it seems to be over 2.6GB of memory. Perhaps the font control is working overtime and runs up the memory until my Win10 Microsoft Surface i7-7660 2.5GHz with 8.00GB Memory. Can Publisher be engineered to use less memory?

How make brtush works like daub spatula? grabs partly its colour from what i allready have. i want do my own brushes sometimes work same way even Designer i think paint mixer brush does in Photo. they have in affinity designer symbol what i post here. these premade brushes work this way but i can set any brush work this way. i checked manual no luck and i cannot add this tool to tool bar. really wanted use affinity designer for art. transfering files to program x to program y is silly. and missing such tool funny when designer is made for more art and photo more modifing and correcting photos. i post feature request if this dont found somewhere where i dont know.

I have noticed that after I installed a font bundle I purchased (http://www.kimberlygeswein.com/), Affinity Designer in Windows 1.8.5.5703 started freezing on color selection (dragging the full color spectrum selector) and just creating rectangles and such. The app will slow down or freeze and then draw the rectangles or allow to change the color. I immediately removed all the fonts I installed, and the problem went away. I have a intel i7 10700K with 32GB ram, M.2 1TB SSD main HD and AMD 5700XT GPU. -
Where is upgrade to Daub watercolor brushed ? and how do tinted paper? in net there is seems no anymore old tutorial. which ansvers this. and i dont rembmer where my notes about are. only thing what i remember these used i think overlay more with paper texture files with over flat coloured area. new tutorial talks upgrades about these brushes.

Hi All I have had Affinity Photo for a long time but not really had time to get into it in a big way but now that I have retired I have the time on my hands to play with it. I can do little bits to make my photos look better by using the Tutorial. I'm also doing my family Tree and I have lots of old photos that I would like to add to the tree but most of them are not in good condition like the one I have attach to this post. So my question is is it possible to do anything with photos like this or not? if it is possible can anyone point me in the wright direction please. Thank you for your help Andrew

Windows 10 Home 2004, Designer 1.9.0.734 (all drivers up-to-date). Watch the video to see what happens. With OpenCL acceleration switched OFF everything looks fine. However, after switching OpenCL acceleration switched ON, I get some very strange things happening. 2020-09-19_08-47-52.mp4 I've attached a screengrab of my preferences dialog. (Video is from external monitor but laptop screen shows the same issue.) Please optimize the ComboBox size. For example, the Context Toolbar of the Paint Brush Tool, where the maximum possible values are entered. As you can see, the ComboBoxes are unnecessarily large, which in turn removes the available space in the Context Toolbar so that it does not fit all the necessary items. P.S. Although in this case, "Protect Alpha" would certainly fit without ComboBox optimization.

Hi Forum! I'm changing from Mac to Windows in a few weeks and would like to change all my software so it works with the windows system. I was wondering if there is any way of switching my Mac Affinity purchases and simply change it to be a Windows key. I won't really be using my mac so I won't need the mac key anymore (this is where the "is that even possible? Or is a activated key already 'locked' " question arises). I understand that I can't have the program on both my Mac and my Windows and that this would need to be two separate keys, but in this case I'm thinking of completely switching. I also want to say that I love the Affinity program and don't really have a huge problem paying for a second set for windows. I'm simply asking in-case there is a way of doing this?
