I downloaded the trial of Affinity Photo, and tried opening it on my Windows 10 computer. An error just pops up that says "This app can't run on your PC. To find a version for your PC, check with the software publisher." I am running Windows 10 Pro Version 1607 OS Build 14393.1198 I really want to buy this product, but if the trial won't work on my computer, I am guessing the full product won't work either. :-( Any thoughts? -
Hello, Affinity Photo for Windows (version 1.5.2) has not brought any improvement in NEF in Windows 10 files. The opening of an approx. 27.5 large file takes about 35 seconds. A professional use is not possible. When does a solution come?

Hello, AP 1.5.2.66 (Beta) crash on Windows with Wacom Tablett, Bamboo Driver V5.3.0-3. First: - Manualy uninstall the previous beta (in system control) - Install AP Beta 1.5.2.66 -> (no error messages) --- 1. Start AP Beta (First: Wacom Pencil moves normally) 2. Create new Picture or open an existing picture (does not matter) 3. Center the picture with the hand tool -> Movement with a tremble effect 4. Select the brush tool and move brush on canvas Result: The brush tip moves in a different place on the picture -> then AP crash immediatly. I hope I could help. Pinnochio -
I recently dumped Mac (and Adobe) for Windows/Affinity and spent big money on a HP Z840 with 2 x Xeon 2.1GHz processors each with 8 cores and 16 multi-threaded cores, (totalling 32 CPU cores running as 2.1GHz) 32GB RAM, Nvidea GTX 1080i Video Card, running on an ultra fast HP SSD (3000MB/s read speed/2000MB/s write speed). A friend came over today and we compared speed of Affinity Photo opening a very large PSD file, and saving a JPEG of that file. He had his 4 year old Macbook Pro running an old 4 core i7 at 2.6GHz, with 8 multi-threaded cores. The result was embarrassing.....His old laptop opened the 8GB file much quicker than my machine which has more cores and a way faster SSD. Saving the JPEG file was also much faster on the Mac. What I noticed was that the windows machine uses only a single core for the opening of a file, and only one core for the saving of the file, whereas the Mac used four cores. Why? We then compared the speed when doing a gausian blur on the file, we started both at the same time and all 32 cores on my Windows machine ran at 100% and the progress bar flew to the end and sat there doing seemingly nothing, (just when I thought it was going to annihilate the Mac) but I noticed it then switched back to using a single core to do what exactly I do not know, but it allowed the old Mac to catch up, making the time difference minimal. The Mac was using all 8 cores for this process. So, my question is, WHY is the Windows version seemingly limited to single core for certain tasks, making it's performance hobbled on a machine like the Z840? My preference for ANYTHING I do is to have the app I am working in making full use of all resources on my machine and Affinity is not doing that at all times, yet you allow it on Mac, makes no sense....what am I missing?- 27 replies

Hi there, it is not possible for me to export PDF´s out of Designer and Photo. I´ve tried several settings but is not possible to export a PDF file. Everytime i get the message that "The file could not be created"! Is there any idea about that? Thanx a lot!! -
Affinity Photo v 1.5.1.54 Windows 10.1 Macros are saved as *.afmacro files. But Macro Library only recognises *afmacros files. So a saved macro is not visible to Library - import macros. In fact, an *afmacro file is entirely invisible to A.P.. Adding the missing final "s" to the file name does not cure the problem as Affinity Photo then declares the renamed *macros file as having an "Unexpected Macros Format". A macro can be saved but not used again. I have 770 images files in need of a macro-driven batch job. Please tell me I don't have to do it manually, 770 times. -

Installed smoothly (and remarkably quickly) on a Windows 10 system. I have some work-in-progress vector graphics (illustrations for a book) created using DrawPlus X8 as .dpp files. I thought I'd try opening one of them in Affinity Design for a road test. But I can't find a .dpp suffix in Open and I don't see an Import option. Am I missing something? Hebz -
Request a 32 bit version of Affinity Photo be released for Windows 10. I have an admittedly old PC, but it is a 2.2GHZ, quad processor that I am sure could handle Affinity Photo. Specifically: AMD Phenom 9500 Quad-Core Processor, 2200 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s) I recently upgraded my Vista system with a clean install of Windows 10 mostly so I could run Affinity Photo. My mistake for overlooking 32 vs. 64 bit. I am running Affinity Photo on my laptop and would prefer to run it on my desktop also.

Hello, I have the beta version of Affinity Photo 1.5.1.52 installed. Opening an NEF file still takes too long - 28 seconds (Windows 10, 64 bit). Greetings

I work with windows 10. My problem is too slow opening the files (RAW - NEF format). If the file is open then PhotoAppinity works fast.

Hi, My desktop PC runs Windows 10 Home on 32 bit system (X64 processor). It has 4Mb RAM. Display card is NVIDIA Geforce 8400GS with DirectX runtime version 11. Will Affinity Photo run on this system? Regards Barry Brotherton -
I am currently in the exploration phase of affinity designer for windows so sorry if this question is allready asked. I am using this on my surface 3 and pinch and zoom works great while painting, but when swiping around with one finger, the program is registering it as mouse input, is there a way to make panning the canvas with one finger possible, I checked the preferences menu and searched the forum but I haven't found a solution yet. I know it is possible with 2 fingers, but it is not always that accurate and sometimes, pinch and zoom registers a brush stroke (mouse input) as well, which is really anoying. -
Hello, I have a small problem with Affinity Photo in its BETA version under Windows. As the title says, the application starts well but as soon as I create an empty project or I load, the application freezes for a while, windows emits a small sound error message without displaying anything and for Finish, the application ends up closing automatically. No errors during installation. My system: I7 3770k 32 gb RAM 980 TI Windows 10 64-bit I tested in compatibility mode (win7) and in administrator, same problem. Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this problem? Thank you. -

Usings Windows 10 with anniversary update and Affinity Photo Beta prints fine to both my Epson and Brother printers. However, wen trying to print from other applications (Word processor, Serif Craft Artist, Phot Plus, Photoshop etc.) printers either do not work over wifi, or produce prints that are predominantly one colour. If I uninstall Affinity Photo Beta everything is OK and prints from other applications are fine. Seems an odd glitch.

Hi, today I tried the Affinity Photo beta. I noticed that it generally works great on the HiDPI display of my Surface Pro 4. Unfortunately though, I also noticed that it falls back to low-res for painting. This does seem to be intentional and can be reproduced with every brush. I am really disappointed since it makes it impossible for me to use Affinity for digital painting. What is the reason for that? Will this be fixed in the final release? I have an HP Spectre x360 4K Touch Screen Windows 10 Machine. The commands for rotating the orientation of various windows match the commands to tighten more and loosen more text (ctrl + alt + left/right), so the Windows command takes precedent. I can disable the windows commands, but it might be worth modifying the keyboard shortcut. Thanks! I'm loving Affinity Designer. -
Hi I was trying to install Affinity to D:/ ( a 256GB microSD) on my little go-to laptop running x64 Windows 10 Home Edition. Either by design or bug Affinity doesn't give the option to browse outside of C:/ When I wrote in D:/ to make it go to the correct folder I then got the following error: Not sure if there's a reason for this or it's just a bug but it's a bit of a pain to be locked out of other drives or partitions, please let me know if this is fixed in future. -

Error code is 0xC0000005 ZnikomitNo24 has proven to be the problem. Font and relative Znikomit have been sent for testing. ---
