  1. Just downloaded 'affinity-publisher-beta-1.7.0.337', attempted to install but was faced with a 'Setup cannot proceed' message: *Support Windows version not found Running Windows 10 Education x64 16GB Ram Nvidia GTX1060 256GB SSD, with 68GB Free Any help with this?
  2. Hello everyone, I'm having an issue where both Affinity Designer and Photo stay at "Not Responding" for about 3 minutes when starting up the program and THEN it opens fully. Basically it is super slow to open. This is a clean install as I just bought the software and there's nothing else running on the PC and the PC is still new and running well so it's clearly a problem with the software. I already tried changing the performance options (Renderer to the dedicated GPU instead of the iGPU which is the default for some reason. Also tried WARP). As for how well the program runs once it opens it's, meh, it runs jerky, zoom animations are slow and panning is super slow (This is NOT 60fps as advertised, more like 5fps) BUT if I use the touchscreen it works quite well, much better than the touchpad. I tried the software on a Mac and it was amazing but on Windows it kinda sucks so far. My Specs are: Windows 10 Home (1903 / 18362.145) Intel i7-8550U RAM 16GB iGPU: Intel UHD Graphics 620 dGPU: Nvidia MX150 EDIT: It appears that panning and zoom have improved somewhat! But sadly it still takes super long to start and still says "Not responding".
  3. Hello, I downloaded Affinity Photo 1.7 on Windows 10 64 bits. I got the following message quite immediately after launching the installation package: failure of the installation. Then I removed Version 1.6.5 and tried again, I got the same message. I then tried reinstalling version 1.6.5 but it failed again with the same message. I tried installing with option admin, no success. I looked for solutions on forum and tried many of them, again without success. Now I don't have Photo installed on my computer. Could you help me? Best regards. Pascal
  4. Hello there! Yesterday I downloaded the long awaited 1.7 update for Affinity products. However I immediately encountered installation issues. I get the following error: I have tried all the tips mentioned in the sticky: and the general tips for this type of issues on: https://www.minitool.com/backup-tips/this-app-cannot-run-on-pc.html as well as: https://www.drivereasy.com/knowledge/this-app-cant-run-on-your-pc-solved/#m1 I've tried running in administrator mode, white listing and shutting off SmartScreen. So far none of the suggestions have helped. I'm running: Windows 10 Enterprise 1809 64 bit version (17763.503) Please help me install the new version. Best regards Andréas
  5. good day everyone! hoping to get some insight on a weird behavior i can't seem to figure out. i've tried affinity software off and on for a couple years now and have always seemed to have problems. i decided to bite the bullet and buy the latest release instead of trying the trial once a year to see if the issues subsided. they are still present (very slow, processes remain in memory after program closure, no pressure sensitivity, etc), but i'll deal with those once i get this behavior sorted. i am using a dual monitor set up. affinity photo remains in one window (my primary) and i have no need to break it apart into separate windows. i use an intuos pro tablet instead of a mouse. i use a button on my pen to switch be tween monitors. the problem is this: when i switch to another monitor, or essentially move away from the AP window without focusing on another window, the cursor starts wigging out and cannot center properly in the window, nor behaves properly within the AP canvas. here is a video that sort of demonstrates what is happening: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2Gy0mzxJ-0 once i create a new document, you will see the cursor jump sporadically and flicker at times. this is me navigating to my other monitor and back to this one. i don't know if there's a setting i'm missing, either in wacom or affinity, that is causing this behavior. all drivers are up to date, and this is the only program on my computer that is showing this behavior. any thoughts as to what might be going on?
  6. My Panda Security Program (Win 10) detected SetupUI.exe as potentially dangerous during upgrading process. I downloaded Designer v1.7.0 and tried to overwrite v1.6.5.135
  7. Hello! Affinity Designer on mac for a very long time. I liked everything. Now I installed Affinity Designer on Windows. And I cry with bloody tears, I don’t understand why such “delays” are “glitches”. The canvas moves smoothly, but all panels (for example, layers, stroke) work very slowly, especially if they are “disconnected” from the interface. It is also difficult to move the panels, jerks and delays. By the way, in beta version 1.7 there are almost no such problems, everything works smoothly. Except for the layers panel PC configuration: intel i7-9800X CPU@3.80GHz GPU 1080 Ti 32g RAM Windows 10 pro Affinity Designer version 1.6.5.135 (downloaded from site) Can this problem be fixed?
  8. I know there's ways to transfer plugins to Affinity. However, is there a way to do that with Extensions? (I have an example included) I really want my Magic Picker extension to be included .. if that's possible.
  9. I first noticed that tracking always switches back to 0% in the input field when I come back to edit later. So I made a test. As you can see at the bottom everything was set to 5 (I didn't touch Super/subscript). I don't know if the value in the baseline field is a bug too, or I'm missing something, but it's strange.
  10. Hope someone can help, I am in the process of designing an A3 sheet background with a logo printed on multiple times which is fine that bit is done but I wanted to add a Gradient as well, I can select the tool but as soon as I start to draw out the Gradient my whole system locks up I cant even move the mouse and I have to reboot I have tried this twice but the same thing happened. I have attached the file if it helps L&G A3 Background.afphoto
  11. Just downloaded the Publisher Beta, but can't install. It says "Setup cannot proceed - supported windows version not found". This is strange because I am using Windows 10 Pro (64bit), has 4GB RAM, and has ample empty space in C drive. I also have Direct X version 12. So just wondering what could possibly go wrong? Does anyone has any idea? I have multiple designer files that I worked on before in another machine, but now can't use those in my current machine. Very frustrating! Please help.
  12. So, down the rabbit hole of color management for us! I'm on a Windows 10, 64-bit operating system with a run-of-the-mill Dell P2414H. I purchased a ColorMunki Display to calibrate my monitor. In the preferences of the program delivered with it, you have the choice of ICC profile version 2 or version 4. It defaults to version 4, but my Googling appears to suggest that version 4 may be problematic in numerous situations. However, I'm also having a hard time finding recent AND reliable info (ironically X-rite's own information is very dated). Of course, I'm most concerned about all this in Affinity Photo, so, first question: Do you advise ICC version 2 or 4? Can AP handle both of them (if that even comes into question), or is it better to use the older ICC version 2? And more largely (second question), is there anything specific that I need to do to make sure that AP is... correctly calling upon the monitor calibration information in the icm file? I'm asking because I also use RawTherapee for more "in-depth" raw development, and in that program, you have to indicate the monitor's color profile (point the program to the current monitor calibration icm file, so to speak). I don't see any such thing in Affinity Photo, although I do think Affinity Photo is completely "color managed"(?). So, I suppose there i a third implicite question: How does AP insert itself into the color management pipeline on any given computer? De excuse me if my terminology is off; I hope everything is understandable and thank you all in advance for your feedback!

  14. Hello! Thought I would share what I've been working on lately. I'm a fairly new user to Affinity Photo & Designer; my usual "go-to" is Sketchbook Pro, but the addition of Affinity has been awesome. I'm still learning the different brushes/ strokes/ and UI so it's taking me a bit to adjust. I'm quite a fan of the Metroid franchise and I love the artwork that's involved. Below is a freehand sketch of the "official" baby sheegoth creature, and I'm hoping to put my own spin on things when it comes time for colour. I've been alternating on my Surface Pro 4 & Wacom Cintiq, if anyone was curious to what I was using. Feel free to leave feedback; I'm always down for that :). Adrian
  15. The new Affinity designer for iPad looks and feels awesome. I would love to see a similar version of the Designer on Windows 10 which uses the full potential of the Windows 10 touch functionalities. A direct copy of the iPad UI could be awesome.
  16. Could someone tell me how to edit this photo or point me to a tutorial which would help me.Thanks for any help and advice.
  17. I am a registered user of Affinity Photo and Designer. I now have a second personal computer, a laptop, and I would like to install Photo on it, as a Windows App rather than execution of the usual .exe downloaded file. That's important to me because my laptop has a very small SSD where the OS is, but will install Apps on a much larger DATA HD. (On my desktop Windows doesn't see Photo or Designer as Windows Apps, but rather as installed programs. I'd like to change that situation too, but that's a later topic.) So.... Should I pay for the Windows App, then request a refund? Or is there somewhere else I can get the App install file, then later use my registration code to activate it? Thank you, Ray PS. Should have mentioned that Windows allows Apps to be installed on the DATA (D:) HD whereas Affinity Photo wants to be installed in on the OS (C:) in Program Files.
  18. I am running Affinity Photo 1.6.5.123 on Windows 10 Desktop. I am administrator and have no problem running the application. My partner who also uses the computer cannot access the app. The licence is confusing. Is it possible for her to access the app or is it restricted by the licence or ?? Thanks.
  19. Hello, I have seen many beautiful complicated works done by affinity designer and those were done on ipad or older versions of iMac and windows pc whose configurations are unknown to me. That gives an impression that designer is not very resource hogging. My question is how complicated is too much for my windows pc (G4560, 16Gigs, igpu, 250gig ssd)? I'm not quite asking the system requirement to run designer. I'm asking after what point my computer may start lagging? Like multiple layers or bigger canvas or too many raster brush - what will be the choking point of my pc? In that case, I'm thinking of doing small upgrade. What I can invest in? Thanks in advance.
  20. I have installed the latest version of the Affinity programs and now they are closing after it appears they have opened! I thought this should be posted in technical help but those subject areas are not open to me for some reason.
  21. 22. I bought Affinity Designer for Windows 10 recently, and was wondering if I can use the product key to also use it on my mac. Can I?
  23. Hallo, I have included two screen shots, one is from windows 10 control panel the other windows 10 font disply, both showing the DAVID font, as I did install them. However one is greyed out while the other is availbale, this is a mystery in itself, but I assumed that affinity would show all my fonts in its program since the system has them. My ignorance regarding the disorganised scruffy windows system is due to the fact that I am apple mac person but unfortunately have been forced to work with 'this thing called microsoft'. I would appreciate your help. Thanking you in advance.
  24. Observed several times a 99% CPU load when opened a 32bit HDR image with 2 live filter layers (vignette and unsharp mask). Mouse pointer moves are very irregular during this problem. CPU load stays at 80-99% even after no more touching Affinity Photo again. After some tests, I remarked: behavior starts after live filters visible/unvisible switching when clicking yellow histogram triangle warning sign. behavior doesn't happen when no histogram visible in Studio behavior doesn't happen with 8bit files Hope this can be solved because sometimes a histogram can be usefull.
  25. I have loaded the trial version of Photo and seem to have a problem with soft proof. As a test I exported some images from Capture 1 as PSD files. In Photo I add ( at the top ) a soft proof adjustment layer, select the canson Photo Lustre Premium RC profile. I can turn the layer on and off and there is no perceptible difference. With Capture 1 and Photo running concurrently on the same machine, same graphics card and same monitor I can switch between the Capture 1 image and the Photo image. Without soft proof on in Capture 1, the Capture 1 image seems to be the same as the image in Photo irrespective of the soft proof setting in Photo. When I select soft proof in Capture 1, the image changes significantly, this does not happen in Photo. The printer is a Pixma Pro 100S. There is clearly something wrong somewhere. I could have made a mistake but the process seems simple. I get the impression that I have not got any printer ICC profile to work in soft proof. I have not tried printing but I will not try that until I get soft proof to work. I have about 1 day left on the trial and I suspect that I am going to run out of time
