  1. I have a macOS updated to current Ventura software, I downloaded all of my V1 and V2 affinity apps from the developers site. First I installed V2 Migrated V1 into V2 when prompted Then I erased all V1 apps as best I could from Mac OS I have yet to see what this did or any effects this will have if any at all. Im interested in creating as much space on my computer as possible by getting rid of all V1 package contents, cache, etc. Can anyone tell me if there is a efficient way to do this manually and with out a cleaner. in my experience the cleaners still tend to leave a lot behind and id like to trash all of the old V1 contents. I just can’t remember which folders I should check in macOS , any help would be great ! Im also interested to know about the best way to install/uninstall 1) Install/uninstall A. Did you Uninstalled V1 affinity apps to include photo, designer, publisher, before you installed the V2 version? OR B. Did you Install V2 and then uninstall V1 apps after ? Did you encounter Any problems? did you find a solution? 2) Migrate V1 into V2 A.Did you migrate V1 into V2 when prompted ? OR B.Did you decide not to migrate V1 to V2 and install plug-ins add-ons etc. afterwards ? Did you encounter Any problems? did you find a solution? *ANY INFOR YOU ARE ABLE TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE QUESTIONS ABOVE ARE APPRECIATED Thanks !
  2. I wasn’t sure where to put this thread so please move it to a more appropriate place if necessary. I have two very minor issues with the image used for the data merge functionality: 1. The changes between the samples are very difficult to spot – one digit difference in number under vertical barcode, one digit difference in number to the left of the horizontal barcode, and one digit difference in the vertical barcode number (red ‘circles’ in my attached image). 2. It includes barcodes, which might lead some people to think that Publisher can create barcodes, which it can’t (by itself). Would it be better to use an image which shows easy-to-spot differences, maybe conference name/photo badges or something like that? Not a major problem but something which I think could be improved.
  3. Hello everyone www.livinnature.eu is my blog about lifestyle I love using Affinity tools to create my designs I would love it if you can check out my blog and give me some feedbacks to improve. I am a newbie in web designing. The website is few days old. I would love any kind of suggestions. Thank you Liveinnature.
  4. Hi Affinity! If logged in to the store-website and tried to download my "Dust Brushes & Overlays by xresch". The only thing I've got is the following. What's wrong?
  5. I'm a web dev & photographer. Affinity Photo's 1.) automatic masking to remove white backgrounds, and 2.) "Erase White Paper", are INCREDIBLE! They work PERFECTLY, including inside holes in a product. Much better than I've seen elsewhere. But it is extremely tedious work to do this manually for all photos. I'd love to automate Erase White Paper at the server level (like we do for resize & trim currently)--to enforce consistency for ALL our images. Then Affinity is used for creative tasks. Feature request: I'd LOVE to see Affinity create an open source tool on Github for 'Erase White Paper'! Or to contribute it to libvps, which is used by Sharp. It would win HUGE goodwill among the open source community to see this contributed by Affinity--because it's not something Adobe would do--& it's a key thing missing from Sharp. Thanks!
  6. I've created a logo where the dimension is supposed to be is 540 x 147. When I upload it to my website it is way bigger than those dimensions. I thought it was the platform I was uploading the image to but not I'm suspecting it's something with exporting. When I open the image (original file) in the web browser from my computer it is showing the same what's uploaded on my website. I'm not sure what's going on here. I thought the size what it's supposed to be is what I am seeing in designer when my zoom is at 100%. Any input would be appreciated!
  7. Can you please help me decide what to use now that webplus X software is old? Or is it still alright for basic webpage creation?
  8. First of all, I purchased Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer from Microsoft Store, because at the time of purchase I thought that the website and the microsoft store versions are the same, with some exceptions regarding how the software is being updated (for the ones purchased from the microsoft store you don't have to do anything, they update seamless in the background, but with the website versions you have to update them manually). Ok, so starting from this information, I first bought Affinity Photo a while ago. All the things seemed alright, but I noticed that the thumbnails of affinity photo's files do not contain the icon of affinity photo, so it was a bit hard to distinguish the affinity files from the actual exported files, because they looked the same. I had to turn on file extension to know which is which. I thought it was by design and moved on with my work. After some time I decided to try Affinity Designer. So I went to their website and downloaded the free trial of the software. But this time, when I saved some illustrations as .afdesign I noticed that the thumbnails of the files had an extra icon showing the logo of Affinity Designer. This was something very useful as I can distinguish the .afdesigner files from the exported files. So I decided to also buy Affinity Designer, and I really wanted to buy it from the website so that I can have the program's icon on thumbnails but I already had Affinity Photo purchased from microsoft store. It will be weird to download one from store and the other from website. So please, can someone tell me and others who may come across this topic, why the Microsoft Store versions of Affinity software don't have their icons on the thumbnails?? I also attached two photos of what I'm trying to say. The thumbnail with the Affinity Designer logo appears only on the website version of the product. The thumbnail without the Affinity Designer logo results from the Microsoft Store version of the product.
  9. I realise this is something that’s controlled by the website software but I thought I’d mention it in case there was an easy fix. When I come to the home page of the site I see a list showing the latest post in each forum on the right-hand side of the page. That seems useful, however, when I click on one it often takes me to the start of the thread that post is in rather than the actual posting. This means that I need to: first realise that I’m not where I want to be; then press the “Last Page” button (if the thread is multi-page); and then scroll down to the last post. Also, when I want to go back to the home page (for multi-page threads) I get taken to the start of the first page again and have to click the Back button again. While this is not a huge amount of extra effort it would be better if it wasn’t necessary. It would be nicer if it would take me straight to the last post – without an intervening page/scroll – so I can just dip in and out of the latest posts without the extra clicking and scrolling. I have no idea if this is possible with the current software/set-up but I think it’s something that would be also appreciated by other users.
  10. Yesterday, or maybe the day before, when coming to the forum website I started to get a ‘pop-up’ at the bottom of my browser window telling me about “Important Information”. I’ve pressed the “I Accept” button a few times but I keep getting the same box popping up every time I visit (and sometimes when I log out). The pop-up goes away while I’m logged in. I’m running Firefox 69.0.1 (on Windows 10 Home) with the Adblock Plus (no items blocked), NoScript (serif.com is trusted) and Privacy Badger (no trackers detected) plug-ins - amongst some others. Is there something I can do to stop the pop-up?
  11. Hello Support ! We got surprised by the step taken by Serif Affinity team on bringing new functionality into ADesigner that made the software even usable and one of it was symbols. That time you made the move, other software specialized on Web Design (Vector Design) where playing on other ground and suddenly adopted the symbol thing and i see few have quite improved it. Personally i was waiting for ADesigner to offer new stuffs like wire stuff that allow to connect artboards etc... in fact, now that Muse and other Website design software are dead, we all tends to rely on what we have and i see a lot of people switching to XD and they do evangelize a lot about it. So i ask again, have you dropped the web design land ? Are we going to see more stuffs that will make ADesigner the tool we would use for website design ? Is the publisher what you are now preparing to do that job ?
  12. Hello everyone ! not sure this is the right place to post this but i found it to be the only place global suggestion goes and i take the opportunity to share my recent idea here. Well, i think it is time for Serif to develop a lace similar to Behance on its infrastructure. Designers, Photographs, illustrators and those working in the publishing industry using the Affinity range of products will be interested into this. it will also make it easier for those who have no knowledge or simply have no time of building their portfolio website/page to find a place where they feel at home. i know many will say : but why not just go on Behance or one of those shiny website out there and do the stuff ? My answer is : i just feel how much home alone you will feel when you see all peoples around you processing with the same software and sharing content that makes them be a family and you can't just use their content properly nor even share yours and they find it okay ! Better for now is Serif must develop such a platform, even making different level such as : Free (very simple) , Silver then Gold ! it will be place where people can just come browse and discover what is possible to be made with Affinity thus making the Forum a place for questions and answer. Yes we share content here, Yes it is helpful but all those good artist I've met here can't hide anymore behind a forum that no one can easily enjoy, it is time for Affinitizers to be openly revealed to the world. Serif is not playing a back court game nor a Toy story tales but a real stuffs that deserve visibility everywhere. Hope this will be of interest and not just forgotten. Blessings !
  13. Hello. I have quite a few websites all created with serif webplus, a program which I absolutely LOVE. I have recently had to swallow the bitter pill of realising that I will need to switch to another program. I am really hoping that that program will be Affinity publisher. Is it possible to make websites with it? If not, have you any plans to make this possible in the near future? If still not, please tell me what to do. I am extremely good at using webplus and so would need something as similar as possible. What program could replace it without too much pain and suffering on my part? I have absolutely no idea of how to choose one. It was the perfect web building program - I am beyond gutted that I am going to have to go elsewhere.
  14. I'm not a graphic designer, so I don't keep up on the world of digtal design. I need to make a presentation of work I've done over the years as a product designer (actual items) and I'm disinclined to submit to the Adobe plantation. I do however use LR which I started using when it first came out. My question is whether I can use AD for creating a multipage presentation that can be viewed locally or posted online perhaps even taking advantage of Bespoke...
  15. Newbie at this. So I see there's plenty of youtube videos, and web pages that show Designer making website assets and full web pages in desktop and mobile. But can someone provide links of tutorials that can help one that has never really made a mobile or desktop site, take it to the next step of publishing their website after making the UI in Designer? Thanks!
  16. Excellent company and excellent programs. I needed to print a difficult PDF file and tried several programs. The one that did the best job was PagePlus. I am looking forward eagerly for Affinity Publishing. Also, I have reviewed several Website building programs but the best is still WebPlus. I do hope that soon there will be Affinity WebDesign. All of the present Affinity programs lack the Tool Bar with standard tools such as printing, saving etc. These are needed for speed, efficiency and user-friendliness.
  17. Hello, I am presenting my latest project: Information banner for the website - Black Friday 2017 Regards
  18. Hi there! I am new to web design and have been using Affinity to make mock ups of websites and apps for practice. I would very much enjoy a feature or tutorial on how to actually make an interactive website and export it to your own online domain. Nothing I have seen online so far has given the option of working versions of the mock ups, aside from using "marvelapp.com" to view everything, but even then, it is not a working website. Affinity is great for building ideas of how a website could look, but despite all the resources I've seen on "how to build a website" with Affinity, none actually have a working end product, only non-interactive designs. They're more just tutorials for "how to build a website mock up". Would it be possible for some sort of HTML Export or conversion? Or is it possible to upload my designs as sort of "themes" to places like Squarespace, Wix, or Tumblr? Or even just interactive buttons and such within the program (ex: being able to move a slider in real time on your website mock up, or click a button on and off)? Thank you!
  19. I'm not sure how relevant this is to AD, but there are some pretty helpful people on here so I'd thought I'd ask. I am designing a web page in AD and obviously I want to then turn it into a website. I already have a Wordpress site with Siteground. What do I need to do to get an AD creation from AD and onto the web?!
  20. Hello, I created a new course, available through Udemy. In this course you will learn the basics of Affinity Designer. You will also learn how to create a childrens poster with a castle. Finally you will learn how to create a simple website design and export it to RocketCake to create a responsive website. Here is the link: Affinity Designer for beginners
  21. Hello, I made these login pages templates in my spare time. They're for Affinity Designer. Maybe it will be useful to someone. You will need the free "Chivo" font from Google Fonts to edit the file - https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Chivo Enjoy! Login Template FernandoLins.zip
  22. I like the way guys from FixThePhoto created a magnifying glass ( like this http://fixthephoto.com/examples/high-end ) in their gallery for the best view of before and after retouching samples. Can somebody help me to make this function on my website which is connected with my own photomanipulations? I will be very grateful!
  23. I use a password management system to login to the many sites that I access. Affinity website does not support this. Suggestion: Please create a regular login web page (ie affinity.serif.com/login) or place regular login fields on the home page so that my password manager will see them. Popup page, as Affinity has deployed, does not work and I have to enter manually which defeats the purpose of my automated password management. Thanks.
  24. Hi Firstly, thanks for the new update, really like the new features, especially the 360 stuff, really cool. Anyway, Unless l have missed it in Photo or Designer, it would be great to be able to open images for editing that are in a website domain public folder, as the website owner of course, i.e. with server dialog box to login etc, etc. Currently, l have to use filezilla to download > edit > upload, no big drama but it would just be less steps to get stuff done. Many thanks again, have a good weekend.
