  1. In Version 1.6.2.97 and 1.6.2.98 i detected this behaviour.
  2. HI I found a problem with displaying the brush size in Affinity Photo (1.61.93) Win 10 PL. When working with a Wacom tablet or on a Surface Pro. The size and center of the brush are not displayed. I have to use a mouse or touch pad then it appears. After changing to the pen disappears (Sometimes it works for a while after changing.) I thought it was a Wacom driver problem, but on Surface is similar. It's good to see a brush spot, but by drawing off the mask you can only see the white arrow. Robert screen rec.mp4
  3. Hi, I'm using Sierra with a Wacom Intuos 4 medium. There is something going on with the pressure sensitivity in AP. There may bea second issue that affects both AP and AD but I'm not very clear about it. Issues 1) [only AP] The first issue that I notice is that when you tap without dragging, AP will draw a dot with a very large radius (would say around 3/4 of the max radius), disproportionate to the actual pressure applied. This is particularly evident if you try to draw lightly with the stylus barely touching (<10% pressure); whenever it loses and momentarily regains contact with the tablet surface it draws blobs like ink spill as seen in the image blow and demonstrated in the 1st video linked at the end. 2) [both AP and AD] I'm not 100% sure about this one (maybe it's in my mind), but I have the impression that the minimum pressure range but also the maximum pressure range that AP and AD read are capped compared to what my tablet will output (as seen in the drivers' test area) or CSP (Clip Studio Paint) will utilize. It's definitely not a bid deal, but I thought I should report it nonetheless. Video demonstration I've linked 3 video files: 1) The 1st shows drawing a stroke alternating between using minimum pressure for a few seconds, and then max pressure a few more as seen in the Test Area in [system Preferences] -> [Wacom] -> [Customize...]. After that it goes on showing how the same exact pattern appears in Affinity Photo (while on the right you can see the diagnostics of the tablet showing the actual pressure). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dny6nicIIA (AP is creating these unpleasant circles) 2) The 2nd video shows how this appears in Affinity Designer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlFVuauzUxA (just fine!) 3) and the 3rd one how it is in Clip Studio Paint (manga studio). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2__eJJwhcQ (notice how the thinnest stroke in CSP is thinner than the thinnest in AP and the thickest is thicker) All 3 programs, and the wacom driver have been set up with linear pressure response, starting from 0. Notice that by default the wacom driver doesn't start from zero as seen in the image below. Hope these help! -Fotis
  4. Hi Guys, first thanks for this beauty, but have some little problem with the Wacom Intuos tablet. Brushes are very slow and in fact not really usable! I have to work now with the mouse to get things working.:( I use Window 10 leatest version.
  5. Hi all, I am having the pressure issue other are having with Wacom Tablets, but I have slight difference: I am using an Intuos 1 tablet that uses a serial port. I am using a Keyspan adapter to convert it to a USB port. So I am gettting pressure in other programs like Microsoft paint, so I am at a loss as to why it is not working in Affinity. Any thoughts?
  6. Hi, I just bought the DAUB Kraken set and am loving the options. I noticed on my desktop, with some of the larger brushes (>100px) I notice I have to paint fairly slowly to get them to render correctly. I just picked up Affinity Photo, so I'm used to Photoshop where I could brush the engine further. Is there anything I can push hardware wise to get more out of the engine? I really love this set, but seems they are quite taxing on the engine itself? I have two screens, one is 4K and the other is 1080p. I tried painting on both and the result is the same. Changing the document size doesn't seem to make a difference. Here are my specs: Intel i5-4670K CPU @ 3.40 Ghz 16GB of RAM NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 (2x displays; 4K & 1080p respectively) Program is installed on an SSD Wacom Intuos4 Large Windows 10 (Fall Creator's Edition) My laptop doesn't seem to have as much of an issue for whatever reason and it is similarly speced. Though I think I am painting on an Intuos3 and iirc, it's on an older driver set than the Intuos4.
  7. I set rotation jitter to be controlled from the Art Pen rotation. This works fine in photoshop but is not working in Affinity Photo.
  8. I have this small but quite annoying problem when using a Wacom Intuos 4 medium pen tablet in Affinity Photo When I do something - like creating a brushstroke or moving a handle on a tool etc. - there is a slight "lag" or delay before it actually starts to work. It's only a split second but enough to disturb the workflow. If I put the pen down and wait a short while, it will activate and work as expected. I have tested the tablet in an old Photoshop version and in Wacoms own configuration software, and in both cases it works fine and as expected. No lag at all. Has anybody experienced this problem or maybe has an explanation or even a solution :-) I am on a Windows 7 machine and newest version of Affinity Photo. Thanks Best regards Jes
  9. I am experiencing a very bizarre problem playing macros with my Wacom pen. When I click on a macro in the library with my pen it turns blue but the macro does not play. It does very occasionally but on most occasions it requires several attempts (usually three or four) before it responds. If I click in the library with my mouse it plays first time always. I have tried the following: Verified my Wacom driver is up to date and re-installed it for good measure. Tried every variation I can think of in tap speed, pressure and duration. Tried adjusting tip pressure in the Wacom driver. To check if I had a pen tip problem I have tried mapping the left click to the eraser button and the side buttons. No difference. I have tried mapping left click to the tablet touch surface and finger tapping. No change. My tablet and pen work perfectly in every other aspect of AP and AD and in all my other 'pen sensitive' graphic apps as well as in the El Capitan OS. The problem is unique to the Library in AP. Has anyone else experienced anything resembling this? Does anyone have any bright troubleshooting ideas? This is totally bizarre and frustrating. :( Mac Pro 2 x Quad Core. OSX 10.11.6. Intuos Touch Pro 5 Large.
  10. Hi, please is Wacom Intuos Pro FULLY compatible with AP for Win? I mean including ExpressKey and all other functions. Want to know whether the investment is useful for me Thanks for info Jindra
  11. In the adjustments panel I have deleted all the presets in the gradient map tab, just left the default and created 3 new presets. I can’t pick them with the Wacom pen, it works randomly, I have to click them several times to work. Picking them with the mouse works fine.
  12. Hello, im new here, sorry in advance for my bad english Since the 1.6 update im having a annoying problem when using the Pen Tool. Tried to find another topic on this, but could not find it anywhere As i go clicking, the cursor simply stops and i have to start over again, i need to use the pen tool to create zig zag shapes but with this bug is impossible. I made a gif with a video capture that you can see whats going on Im using a Mac Mini, with High Sierra, AD 1.6 and a wacom tablet intuos 4 With mouse i have no problem and in the previous version this error was not happening. 13. I'm having an issue when using Affinity Photo or Designer with Astropad connected or a Wacom Intous 5 touch connected, where the fans on my MBPr 15" go on high and stay there until I'm done with the selections and deselect. Once that's done then everything calms down and goes back to normal. This only happens with these devices connected. Using selection tools without them connected there is no issue. Connected to using the selection tools and the fans is that sometimes for no apparent reason the selection tools just won't work at all, but the fans kick on while trying to use them as if they are working. It's bizarre and weird to say the least. Seems like the selection tools are having issues in many ways. I also have Photoshop and there is no issue using the program or it's selection tools with these devices connected. Why would having a drawing device connected to the computer cause this program to struggle with selections? This is a huge problem for it stresses the computer for no reason. I do not want to go back to Adobe products, but cannot stress my very expensive computer on such a simple task all day long. Also, cannot use this program if these tools just don't work for no apparent reason. Please fix this! Thank you for any and all info regarding this issue and for anything you can do to fix it.
  14. Hi! I have a pretty important question here ... (at least for me ) I want to buy a graphic tablet to stop wasting paper all the time. I usually create logos on paper, scan them and then vectorise my concepts. But I thought it was time for a change. So I want to buy a graphic tablet with a screen. (I've already tried without screen and I don't like it) So got on Amazon, and I found the Huion GT-185. This model is in my price range, it is big enought for me, ... As every good buyer does, I did some research : some say the tablet doesn't work with affinity, others say it does ... confusing. So, I would like to know if any of you use a graphic tablet with a screen that works completely fine and that isn't to expensive ... I said I would go up to 550€, but I prefer less of course Thank you for your responses in advance
  15. Hello. I have a question: Do you have any experience how does Affinity Photo or Designer works through any Wacom Intuos tablet (not Cintiq) and extra wide monitor with 21:9 ratio? I use external LG 34" with resolution 3440x1440 connected to MacBook Pro (mid 15) via Thunderbolt 2. I would like to buy tablet, probably Intuos Pro L but I am worried about large monitor and crazy ratio screen. Does it work? Can you see any potential issues? Thanks.
  16. This may be convoluted to explain, but please bear with me, it's quite interesting! I would like to suggest a change, or an improvement, to the behaviour of number dials (fields?). More often I would like this tweak to be implemented in the Character and Paragraph panels. They are the main panels where you have a tonne of numbers in little boxes! So, this... A Wacom pen's second button is usually set to Middle Mouse, which makes it great for panning, zooming etc, and should make it great for dialing numbers in to little boxes - but with Affinity, it currently doesn't. You can easily hold the middle button and scroll numbers, which is great, but only within the number's little box - as soon as your cursor goes beyond the box's bounds, it cuts out, or sometimes worse, will begin dialing the numbers in the box above or below the one you wanted to change, which is horribly frustrating. The thing is, that while you are trying to change the number with your middle button, you are still holding that button down - I would expect the numbers to keep changing always while I have the middle button held down, regardless of where the actual cursor is - once you have initiated the number change, but middle clicking on the number in its little box, the mouse cursor should be pretty much ignored as long as you have the button held down. I am aware that the current set up works absolutely fine on a normal mouse, as you just leave the cursor inside the number field and scroll leisurely away on your mouse wheel, but please try this with a Wacom pen (other styluses are available) and try to understand where I'm coming from? Honestly, this small change will make the products a whole lot more comfortable for graphics tablet users. Thanks for listening! Wayne

    Weird Wacom Stylus issue

I have a weird issue with my Wacom stylus. When using Affinity Photo it works, almost everywhere. Selecting tools, moving image boundaries etc. It also works in the Adjustments / Layers / Effects area. I can select one of the bars - for example 'Exposure' - and then move the Exposure slider left and right. All good. The issue happens when I try and select a Preset for those adjustments. I tap the stylus on the preset thumbnails, and they 'flash' once as if they have been selected. But nothing happens to the image. I thought it was a Wacom / Affinity issue but then I happened to try selecting the Preset thumbnail with my finger rather than the stylus (I have the Wacom touch pad version). My finger is able to select the presets, the thumbnail flashes and the image changes to suit the preset, however, the stylus can not, despite the thumbnail flashing to indicate it has been selected. With both my finger and the stylus the thumbnail flashes to indicate selection, but only my finger actually change the image. Any ideas?

    monoprice tablet

i have a monoprice drawing tablet and dont know how to get it to work on affinity designer and any help to get the pressure sensitively to work would help a lot thanks
  19. Hello. I would like to know if there is possibility to set the pressure sensitivity of a Wacom pen. I would like also to have some pencil brushes. Do they exist in Aphinity photo? Or do I need Aphinity Designer for this? I want to do some sketching. Thank you. With Kind Regards. Jozef
  20. Hi there, I hope somebody has an idea. You remember, when you use the brush tool, you can change the size and sharpness with the short cut ctrl+option and dragging. This works with the mouse for Designer and Photo. But, why not with my Wacom Intuos 4 I get crazy :-( Thanks a lot
  21. Hello all. Recently I ordered an XP-Pen Artist16 15.6 Inch Monitor Drawing Tablet and I'm awaiting delivery this week and looking forward to it. I have, however, heard some complaints before about calibrating colour, or rather not knowing how to, and being sure that drivers are installed appropriately otherwise there would be issues with pressure sensitivity and such. I heard XP-Pen is a very good alternative to Wacom and was more than happy to decide on the investment, but I was wondering if anyone here has used the Artist series before and would have some tips on colour/cursor calibration, driver installation or any other experiences to make sure that starting using it on Photoshop CS6, TV Paint or any other drawing software will be as smooth and frustration free as possible? And is there a chance that other drivers being installed on my PC such as Wacom or Huion would cause any interference with the XP-Pen one, as I have used both brands before? Any advice or shared experiences at all would be greatly appreciated. I use a HP Pavilion 15.6 inch laptop with 8GB ram, AMD A8-4555M APU processor and a 64 bit operating system on Windows 10 (with pen and touch support) if any of this should be taken into consideration also. Thank you in advance for your kind support and help. - Mark K
  22. Hi, I have problem, that with AP my tablet (Wacom) works the other way round..... while Zooming it Scrolls and while Scrolling it Zooms.... no matter whether using the Touch Wheel or Touch On gestures. Other applications work fine, so the bug should be in the AP (Win), I have checked the settings twice..... Thanks Jindra
  23. Hi, Does anyone know if Affinity will have the support for the Wacom Bamboo Sketch stylus on the ipad in the near future? I'm currently using the apple pencil but it feels like I'm scratching on wood with it. There's only a handful of apps that support the Bamboo Sketch I was hoping Affinity would soon have the support as well. Or am I barking up the wrong tree, is it Wacom I should be approaching for this?
  24. Hi! Just started working with AD and really love it, but I've got a couple of things that don't work so smooth. First of all, I work with a Cintiq 22' touch. I would like to use the zoom slider on the back but it doesn't zoom. How can this be fixed? Undo in AD is different than in photoshop. I would like to change the shortcut to 'alt-command-z', but when I do this it only enters 'z'. How can this be fixed? Many thanks!
  25. I've got a Wacom Bamboo tablet (I know it's rather dated, but it works well). When I regularly used Adobe Photoshop (18+ years) it wasn't as laggy, but with Affinity Photo I often notice quite a bit of lag. Sometimes I brush and it just doesn't show. I use a 9' USB cable because my wife likes cables to be unseen and out of the way (the same with computer boxes!). My system has 32Gb ram and quad-core i7 processor. As I mentioned before, it didn't lag much at all with Photoshop (but did on occasion). Is it possible that the length of the cord has something to do with the lag? Is it more probable that there's something going on with the software itself? Is it because the Bamboo tablet is older and a newer tablet would be more responsive? I'd like to explore these ideas and see what could give me a more responsive experience.
