  1. What is the preferred method for reserving page space for video and other media? As Publisher has no facility for inserting various forms of media content such as Vimeo, YouTube, or media players, for modern online document publication, so; therefore space needs to be reserved and replaceable after rendering to PDF. Should a picture frame rectangle or just a rectangle (or another shape) be used for PDF editing?
  2. Another thing I was wondering...can you do any type of animations in Affinity aa of now? Like you can with Adobe. And if not, do you guys think this may be something they do in the future? With the steady climb in popularity of video and animation, I think it would be really cool if Affinity did implant that in some way. Either added with Designer or even a new app similar to After Effects would be cool. I'm still going to use Designer and Photo but I'm really trying to eliminate any need to have to use Adobe ever again and be locked into their contracts. I was just curious. Thank you in advance!
  3. Requesting the ability to import a video file that breaks down into frames that have layers, edit each frame like a photo, play the video back, and export video. Would be productive for video touch ups, VFX and tittles. I could imagine some cool techniques using the liquid brush and some of Affinities other tools on video frames
  4. I've tried using the search tool on the forums... but I get lots of results that have nothing to do with the Publisher Beta. So, my question is: Does Affinity Publisher support embedding video files? I realize that there is some information regarding Affinity's current limited ability to import a variety of file types. But, are there plans to support placing video (and, dare I say it) animated GIFs/PNGs inside a document for export to interactive PDF?
  5. I'm perfectly fine sticking with an already well developed animation program. But its always good to have a non subscription program you like as a backup.
  6. I'm working through the AD Workbook, and the first example seemed a little too easy for an old hand (or do I mean know-all?) like me, so I decided to try something a little more ambitious. So I did a tiger. It wasn't bad, but I thought I could do better ... so I did another one. Here it is ... This is reduced to about 70% of the original size. In the book, Ben The Illustrator says he often works from videos rather than still photos, so I looked out one or two videos on the internet. This image is made from two stills, as the real thing didn't look exciting enough! I made vector shapes on separate layers of: the body and nearer legs; the tail; the head; the further legs; and the stripes -- the stripes I clipped to their layers so i didn't have to fiddle about with the edges. I saved that as an AD file, then as an AP file, which I then edited with some motion and radial blur to give a sense of movement. As I went along, I duplicated some of the layers and rasterised them, so I could add some shading and clip them. Finally, I made up a background from a couple of texture images, and added a shadow underneath the animal.
  7. I've seen several people posting time-lapsed videos of their drawings in Affinity Designer for iPad, from start to finish. They aren't image sequences, they are sped up screen recordings. I'm not quite sure if this is something that Affinity enables internally? Or, if they are using some third party gear to capture their actions on the iPad's screen? At the very least, exporting the image history to an image sequence would allow for a time-lapsed "build" over time to be exported and shared. How are people creating time-lapsed videos of their drawing in Affinity Designer on iPad?
  8. Here's a time-lapse of me creating a new comic-style drawing. Mistakes and back-pedalling included. Final result: Authoring file: Enjoy!
  9. Yes, it's that time of year again. My Christmas video is made with a 'borrowed' image, chopped up and manipulated with Affinity Photo, animated with Anime Studio (a third-party package marketed by Serif a few years back) and brought together in Serif MoviePlus X6. Merry Christmas!
  10. A video import option would be great, whether thats streaming video from Vimeo or actually inserted into the document. Then being able to output as a PDF and send to clients would be invaluable. I appreciate it would create larger files but this is way better option that filling a document full of links. Great product so far Thanks Glenn
  11. Beyond Horizon is a 2D side-scroller game focusing on story and exploration both on land and within the stars. Explore dungeons, towns or fight space pirates with your ship, while uncovering the lore and the secrets behind the Sigma and the original race, all of this is just Beyond the horizon. Join the Discord Community!Follow development on Notion! What is the game about: Beyond Horizon follow Aito after his grandfather suddenly has to leave, 3 years later with no return he tries to save up everything he has in-order to afford a spaceship to go after him. While on a routine mission to find a missing cargo supply he comes across a stone that once touched absorbs into Aito giving him powers along with a map to 8 location. Unknowingly awakening an evil force to his location. Now to save his town the only option is to flee, they attempt to lure the Sigma away with his friends in a stolen spaceship, now the only option is to run. Following the map to each location in the hopes to stop this Sigma killing the system. About the Project:Beyond Horizon is a small project I've been working on for a couple of years now, starting off as a 2d pixel art game before moving into this mixture of vector and semi-realistic textures that I started to play around with while working on an illustrated calendar.I'm currently working on this project solo so production on the game has been slow (along with changing a lot of things required to re-start from the ground up) and I felt like I should start sharing the project. 12. Link to YouTube Espero les guste. Saludo.
  13. Today i want to just share with you a quick video of what i believe and think Serif Team should take in consideration and make available into the Affinity Range. Well the product they will choose that will have this ... is something i can't point out now but with the coming kind of enforced collaboration between all three products i really believe we should be able to make this kind of things with ease and not jump to other software's just to generate it knowing the portability and sometime compatibility is not properly working. Less words, now check in 1min what i'am referring to ! Requested_functions1.mp4
  14. Sorry if this has been mentioned before but can't find it if it has. Is there or can there be the ability to import video files into Affinity in order to separate the frames for individual working. Photoshop has had this function and is very handy.
  15. Hello: I did read that y'all don't have in mind make a animation software, but I really would like that y'all make one, there a lot of peoples that would like that Affinity make a animation software. I'm willing to pay for it. I would like that in the future y'all expand the software area to something like following: - Animation Software. - Video Editor Software. - 3D software. - IDE for web programming or even desktop application (Using affinity designer for the GUI and pass the design to the IDE and continue working with it). I would like please put some of those in your plans, y'all can open a donation web site and get founds for make this projects. Let us know.
  16. It would definitely be awesome to see some courses on using photo (both desktop and IOS) and designer (both desktop and ISO) on pluralsight. There is a creative section which the courses would fit nicely into, along side adobe ones which already exist
  17. You have produced some awesome software. Working in a school, I have used Serif for many years. I am very honest with my findings. I did not like Serif Web Plus, but I did like PhotoPlus X8, Page Plus X9, Draw Plus X8 and Movie Plus X6. Your Affinity has now improved on all but Movie Plus X6. The long and short is that we need a movie editing package in schools and so do many others companies. I have just moved schools and we tried to purchase Movie Plus X6 from you but sadly you won't even sell it anymore due to Codex Licences, so we are stuck with X3. We really need some way of editing movies and your interface would really lend it's self to that. Now you have done the others, please consider a movie editing package to complete the pack or at the very least, look at some way of re-releasing Movie Plus X6 to those that need it, but an Affinity version would be spot on. Finally, the ability to create stop-frame and Keyframe animation in Affinity Designer would be good so it matches Draw Plus X8. Thank you so much for reading this. Al
  18. I understand how to use Affinity Photo to create 3D LUTs for use in my video editing software Premiere Pro CC 2018. But sInce I'm shooting video on a Panasonic GH5 in VLOG-L I should be creating the LUT adjustments in a LOG color space, at least that's what my research found. That option doesn't appear in Affinity Photo's "Color Format" drop-down menu. Is the LAB option an equivalent? Hoping you can help. Thanks, John.
  19. Beside the actual series of Workshops for Affinity Photo on iPad I have published 46 videos about the desktop version. Hope you enjoy and find it useful. Markus
  20. Hi, I have a series of tutorials about Affinity Photo iPad in german on Youtube:
  21. Hey all! This is my new video about painting in Affinity Photo @AffinitybySerif Share please and thanks for watching!
  22. Hi everyone, I'm trying to move these circles to all be an equal distance from each other as well as the points of the triangle, it doesn't seem possible with the snapping system and I have no clue how to move them the way I want, can anyone help? I've attached a screenshot Thanks
  23. I have seen a couple of motion designer wanted to use Affinity software but also wanted the bridge between Ps, Ai, Ae. I do know that Affinity don't have any plan to make video software. That's why I propose that Affinity instead work together with Blackmagic Design to make some sort of integration or bridge between Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer to DaVinci Resolve and Fusion.
  24. The project is finally done. For the past 13 weeks I’ve been working on a gaming magazine while at SAE. The magazine deals with gaming but unlike other magazines where they talk about news and reviews TossUp talks about in-depth gaming information such as what works, what dose not, fail within games, game mechanics and more. The project was made with a mix of affinity designer, affinity photo and indesign. (This project was made for a uni assessment and is not a real magazine.) If you would like to view the magazine online click here: https://adobe.ly/2Ex6EaF Below are mockups of the magazine. What do you think of the magazine? __ In need of a graphic design?
