Hello everyone, sometimes I really like to switch to the vector viewmode not only for a better workflow, but also to see "the magic" behind my designs. Now I wonder if there´s a way to export the design in the vector viewmode as a non-vector document type like e.g. JPEG. So the end-result I´d like to have would show the countures/vectores only. The only way I see to do this is to remove the fillings and color all the countures the same and add some thickness to them. Is there another? A way to directly export in a specific viewmode?

“Space Base” is a vectorial image with a sci-fi theme, created as if it was a still frame from an anime movie. Another vector illustration made with basic shapes, gradients and this time, special brushes for the clouds. This work was also made following a tutorial by visual artist Isabel Aracama, and you can acess her site for this tutorial plus the freebies: www.isabelaracama.com

Hello everyone, I´m using Affinity Designer since a month or two and I´m wondering if there´s a setting or way to create multiple objects or vectors on the same layer. For example I´d like to use the Vector Paint Brush tool on one layer, without creating a new one every time I add a new vector. I know that you can group and classify layers, but that´s not really what I´m looking for. Well, AFD is not a ´traditional´ digital painting programme like Clip Studio Paint etc. (actually it´s totally not), but maybe you can use it as such in some cases. So, what I´m looking for is a feature to ´paint´ like in pixel-mode without ´separating´ each ´line´. I don´t really think that there´s a setting or feature like that, but maybe I´ve overseen something... (I´m sorry if there is a similar topic like that in the forums, but I didn´t find anything.)

Sometimes I just need a break... and a challenge 😁 Going back to the good old days with this work. What do you think? Cheers. P.S. - Made entirely in Affinity Designer (lots of layers, transparencies, gradients and symbols).

Hi (I think) I found a Afinity Designer performance bug. I have a photo on a layer and I put an ellipse on it. When I edit it, I have terrible lags that prevent me from working with the document. I got a photo of the lags are also ... Until you can see how the filling does not follow the outline ... I changed the options in Retina rendering, I changed Renderer to WARP - nothing. I opened the document in beta 1.9.1.952 - no performance issues.

I made this illustration based on a picture book from the 1960s with illustrations made by Doris Dumler. I tried to recreate it using Designer, usng the Shinznizzle styles for texture and patterns. It was interesting how a convincing mid-century look can be recreated.

To battle procrastination, I recreated this illustration in Affinity Designer, only in the Vector persona. I tried to archive a vintage and organic looking illustration using only vector tools and assets. Only raster addition are some grainy PNG texture overlays. I hope you enjoy it.

I am struggling with a lack of snapping-compliance in Designer for iPad. To make things easier I have attached one screen shot with an example and another one with my snapping preferences. In the example I am attempting to satisfy my very strong desire to snap the red shape by it’s lower right point to the blue shape’s upmost point, yet it refuses to comply. Does anyone know of a way more straight forward than the workaround below? The one workaround I am aware of at this point: - lock the blue object first - select both, the blue and the red object - switch to the node tool and select all points on the red one - snap the red shape by any point to any point of the blue shape - smile Cheers!

Hi there, I love Hawaiian Shirts and tropical und floral patterns. It's not that perfect and just »work in progress «– but I like it. Some shadows have to be refined and some textures may be added. No Stock-Pictures are used and lots of hours were spent to draw all parts of it. I don't know what to do with it. In my dreams it becomes a shirt. What do you think? Ciao, Arne

A lot of nesting and Gaussian blur was involved. The texture was very challenging to get right. I am learning realistic vectoring from Isabel Illustration who is also a member of this platform. On her review of this piece of art she cautioned me against over blurring and I hope to successfully implement her suggestion in my next piece.
