  1. When you select a path with a vector brush already applied, the Brushes Panel should show which brush that is. Right now it's impossible to know for sure which brush have you applied to a path once you deselect it. If you look at the attached image the applied brush is clearly not the brush shown in the Panel. When you select the path the Panel should automatically select the correct brush (which is a few brushes up in this particular case). I'm requesting this under the desktop section of feedback, but this same request is equally valid for the iPad. Thanks!
  2. Hello All, Im having a difficult time with brush selection. How can I copy pixel brush styles to the vector brush styles? Additionally, when editing between vector brushes and pixel brushes. It is inherently impossible to figure out as the user that vector and pixel brushes carry the same functionality. Since navigating between vector and pixel personas, do carry some functionally with the same tools. It would help if the assistant or some message displays that there is some limitations when trying to make a change to a shape with the wrong brush option. I mean, color, stroke and fill all seem to work across personas and do not require an additional gui to display to change properties. Thanks,
  3. Hello! Until AD 1.7, we could do the following to adjust brush size: Alt + LClick + RClick & drag = real-time resizing. Now, it seems to work only in the following order: Alt + RClick + LClick & drag. Could you please revert it back to the first case? I can only set shortcuts to me Wacom Pen if it's the first (and older) way. By the way, it works properly (the first way) in Pixel Persona and in Affinity Photo 1.7+ Below, a video showcasing the problem I made using AD 1.7.0.380. 2019-06-10_11-00-58.mp4 Thanks!

  5. Hello developer, it's been a year since I pointed out a brush problem in the Affinity Designer but unfortunately I haven't found an adequate solution in the current release (1.7.0.380) yet. Will it be further developed in this direction or not and can I expect an implementation of a Vector Brush Tool at all?

  7. Getting very odd artifacts while using the vector brush and the pencil in Affinity Designer for iPad. Ive tested this on 2 different iPads, and 2 different apple pencils, happens on both! Super frustrating and completely random every vector brush stroke. I know others are most likely experiencing this exact same problem. anyone have a work around or know a trick? affinity_Designer_bug.mp4
  8. I'm trying to draw this tree (PSD attached) and you can see that the branches and dark grey area are clipped into the orange layer. I used a vector brush stroke to create the branches and after I export them to Photoshop, they're rasterized. Is it because of the masking or is it because it's a stroke? Also, not sure why the dark grey area rasterized as well. Are there other ways I could have done this differently? Sorry if it's not my best description - I'm just confused. Untitled (1).psd

  10. Hi, I am using Affinity Designer on iPad Pro 12.9 inch (2018.10) + Apple Pencil 2, both iOS and the app are up to date, for some reason the vector brush tool won't work with pressure sensitivity. It's always fixed width no matter which brush I selected, and when I tried to adjust the pressure by dragging the pressure handles, it always came back to default settings. Could anyone help me with this issue? Thanks! O.

  12. I’m having trouble adjusting the pressure of my vector lines in Affinity Designer on iOS. It seems that whatever brush I first use to lay the line down needs to be temporarily switched to different vector brush and then switched back to my original brush before it will allow me to adjust the pressure. In my attached clip, I used the basic vector brush, but I’ve tried a handful of brushes from a handful of vendors and the behavior is the same. I have to ink, change the brush, and then change it back. For each line, it’s pretty rough. Can’t seem to find if there’s something under the hood I’m missing, or if this is expected behavior. (Thanks in advance, all.) E45911A8-D131-4BE5-AD98-9268E716A1CC.MOV

  14. Hi As already discussed in the “Affinity on iPad Questions” section (linked below text), it seems there is a bug when drawing with the vector brush tool and pencil tool. In some cases (mostly long curves) the end cup is displayed with the general stroke width, although it should have zero width since the handle for pressure at the end-point is pulled to the bottom. Screenshots, a video and the file are uploaded in the “Affinity on iPad Questions” section - link below. .
  15. Ok so I am new to Affinity Designer and have been working with it for a little over a week. Maybe I am missing something obvious, but is there a way to edit the flow while using the vector brush tool? I'd like to lessen the flow with the strokes I am using. Thanks in advance for you help.
  16. Hello, I'm using Affinity Designer. I would like to create a vector brush that is an eclipse shape. I followed the tutorial for creating a vector brush except I used the eclipse vector shape instead of a brush. I saved it as a png and then uploaded it as a new textured intensity brush. Unfortunately, when I draw with it, the edges are blurry and jagged. Are there any tips on how I can make this better?
  17. Hi all, Small question on brushes. In Affinity Designer we have the option to work with vector and raster brushes. We can also import brushes. I noticed that when I imported "DAUB | Comics Basic Set.afbrushes" in vector mode ("draw persona"), this set was not available, but is available in the raster mode ("pixel persona"). So, from this I conclude that *.abr or *.afbrushes are vector or raster specific. Is that a correct conclusion? Is there a possibility to use the same set of brushes in both vector and raster mode? Hope my questions are clear. O
  18. I finally worked out how to create coloured image brushes for both Vector & Raster formats in Designer. The raster brush instructions also apply to Photo too. When a member of a Face Book group I belong to, asked how to create a brush from a png image, I set about creating a video. No text or voice-over, just some nice relaxing Royalty Free music and my mouse movements. Recorded on a Windows 10 Pro system but hopefully Mac users will be able to see what actions need to be performed on their O/S. I have also included the two single brushes here with Permission from Nikki. Any comments are welcomed. 20. 1) "Synchronize defaults" don't set Assorted vector brush as a Default brush. New curves always have a Basic round brush stroke. 2) "Synchronize defaults" don't set Pressure curve if path have Assorted vector brush. New default curve will be set only if path have Basic round brush stroke. I suggest "Synchronize defaults" must remember all of the parameters of the selected curve for future use.
  21. Hi, I more or less understand how you can create a new bitmap-based "vector brush". But I need my output to be pure vector (no rasterisation) and I'm wondering if something like in the image attached could be created as a custom vector stroke brush? It's simply two lines with crossed lines in the middle. Is there any way to create a brush like this that could be: 1) Applied to a stroke; 2) Pure vector (no bitmap or rasterisation on export). Thanks in advance!
  22. I'm trying to draw a fantasy map for a novel I'm working on, and I'm using vectors to draw the mountain ranges. This works very well for the horizontal parts of the range, but not so well when the range goes vertical (see image). To do this, I've created my own brush which repeats my mountain image along the vector, but I'm not sure how to make sure the mountain image always has the same orientation. Is this possible? ~MasterBel2
  23. Not sure if my computer is bad or maybe my program is corrupted. the vector brush works great but only after doing the first stroke. doing multiple little lines also seems to take a really long time. the pencil tool cuts off. if there's any fixes or advice to make my program run good as new it'd be greatly appreciated. New to these forums so, any help would be amazing. Using a Gen. 1 Cintiq Companion on high performance battery.
  24. Hi, I hope you can understand my poor English  I tried to make a poster from an Illustartor-tutorial. There is a hill with 2 peaks of snow. In the AI-version is a eraser-tool used, to achieve a rough edge of the snow. AD does not have an eraser, so I used the vector-brush-tool. And it worked well. But the colour of the hill was not satisfying, so I did change it. And also, I wanted to change the colour of the vector-brush. And that did not work at all. I made a video using the history of AD. There are 2 videos, they are showing a simple version in 2 ways, because it was not possible to record the layer-palette and the history completely on one screen. I wanted to change the dark blue colour to another one (not that awful green, but it's good for demonstration purpose), either the hill as well as the erased snow, but the snow should stay white. As you can see, that either the dark blue erased object, made by the vector-brush, did not change the colour to green, or the snow became green. What is wrong? How can I change the colour of the brushed snow from dark blue to green?
