Is there any way to change the radius of the color picker you get with the bottom modifier of the brush tool? I want to blend between different colors without having to switch between the actual color picker tool and the brush tool, but I only get a 1x1 px sample area.

The first mocup is from V2, and the colours doesn’t match how they are suppose to be. The second mocup are from when I used V1. Everything is correct, and the colours also matched when the book was printed. No I am afraid to use V2 for my book designs in case the colours wan’t match when printed. Help, anyone??

So I found out that when I get more panels visible, affinity slows down like it needs some time to load layers' properties (it's most visible on layer switch). To clarify Designer is slower with panels set like: If I move panels on the left eg. in a way: - quick fix panel is a tab in section where layers panel is - Appearance and stroke panels are tabs in section where colour panel is Application runs faster. Probably visible quick fix panel slows the most. Just to mention - I didn't feel such slowing down on v1

So I'll try and explain this the best I can. I'm inserting a black SVG into an afdesign file. I'm then double tapping the SVG to open it up separately and amend the colour. I'm changing the colour to #AB8D49. The colour changes in the 'separate' window where the SVG is being edited. I head back to the main afdesign file. The colour of the SVG has changed, but is visibly different to the text on that file with the same hex. An eyedrop of the SVG now shows the colour as #A88E53. Double tapping the SVG again opens the file up and shows the correct colour code #AB8D49. It seems to only be when the file is then inserted back into the afdesign file that the colour goes slightly lighter. I've tried checking opacity etc. just to check that it's showing as it should be - it is. The RGB profile of both the SVG and the afdesign file is the same. I've tried reproducing this on Mac designer v1 and don't get the same result - the colour matches as it should - so this seems to be an issue only happening on v2 iPad. Any suggestions greatly welcome as it's driving me round the bend. -

Hey there, Affinity Publisher Crashes everytime I try to copy and paste a Headline. The headline is part of a Table Of Content via activating "headline" in the table of content option panel. It has an endnote as well. If I try top copy and paste this element, Publisher crashes. Same goes for a whole field of text, which contains Table Of Content headlines. My guess is: it crashes, because the copied headline or any part containing an element of table of content, creates a conflict when about to be pasted so Publisher can't handle it. In that particular file, it its 100% reproducable. I hope you can fix it. Cheers -
Hi there. Question. How do I put auto curly quotes while in designer V1 or V2 while typing instead of straight quotes? What happened to the default text styles that I had in V1 but are not there in V2? I am currently using a trial in V2. I want to upgrade to V2, but if these styles are not there, I am not. And the curly quotes are in publisher, but not designer. Thank you very much for any help. -
I think being able to convert layers into embedded documents within a document would be a tremendous benefit to organizing non destructive filters and effects! I use both adobe and affinity in my workflow and so many times have I wished that there was a “smart object” in affinity suite, without the need of creating, saving a doc and dragging it in! Please consider adding this feature in a future update.- 2 replies

I have a document with a large number of embedded png files. I would like to export them, without recompression and ideally "automagically" in a specific folder. Currently, I don't see a way of doing it except of opening the file in Photo v2, copying layer to the clipboard and executing File --> New from clipboard. Any better options? -
Sorry for my English. The problem occurs when I apply the Expand Outline command. The lines with the dynamic brush after pulling Expand are smaller (blue) than the original unconverted lines (black). When I export to pdf, there are no differences - so the problem is somewhere in the image display. I am using Nvidia Studio drivers (version 527.56) on GeForce RTX 2060. Unfortunately, switching in Settings>Renderer from "Default (Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060)" to "WARP" and trying different settings (Retina, View Quality...) - there or no difference.... I do not know if the problem affects only me (Affinity version 1 is also the same)? Windows 11 Pro, 22H2, compilation 22621.963 EDIT: attached test file test.afdesign

im using affinity designer and photo on my my macs and when i check fot update on both of them its says version 1.10.5 is the newest version available how do i get V2?? should i buy new licensees???

I already owned version 1 of all three softwares. Today I bought the universal upgrade. Once I downloaded from the serif site the three dng files for the installation, they did not install in the applications folder, where I could still find only version 1. I tried to cancel the old files of version one from the folders, but still the opening of the dng files does not result in the creation of any file in the folder of the applications. When I start the dng files they open and at the end of the process open the program, but it functions only temporarily and they disappear when restarting the Mac. Can you please suggest a solution? -
Hi, I made two templates, Horizontal and Vertical, for engraving effect. You can modify them as you want! You can play with gradient fill layer, with BW adjustment, also you can replace the engraving files. (for a stonger effect, you can duplicate them, and then you have to play with opacity, you can pick-up another blend mode) I attached them below, also a folder with some engraving patterns in .png. In Presets LUT I imported presets (i.e. Black and White2 .cube) > it gives the option on right click to Move to Category . . . BUT no list to move it to. Just shows default (of LUT) Is there a setting I need to change? or any advice would be welcomed. Affinity instructions say they will import to the category chosen, yet LUT is the only category I can find to Import (with a cog wheel) to, so it happens to be the chosen one when importing. Maybe I'm doing it wrong or didn't understand something? I have a lot of presets I would like to use and being in their proper category would make life so much easier. Thanks! -
hi I am having a nightmare at the minute no matter what i do both of these programs are crashing i cant change font or do pretty much anything or add a few picture without it shutting down i have so much do do right now i dont wont to pay for the v2 just yet as i have hardly used the photo one due to crashing i have a really good laptop so its not the specs on that please help i have uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it does the same thing it was design was fine before hand only crashing the odd time -
Hello Folks, here is my feedback - I loved v1 and it was a no-brainer to buy v2 instantly. But I am a bit disappointed - and I would like to give you some feedback why: Affinity Photo: I expected some AI involvement, like background removing. Even the iOS Photo app has great results doing so, but Affinity Photo stucks at this point where it started with v1 years ago. Also some KI upscaler would have been great. Affinity Designer: A lot of people requested and it is one of the main gaps between Affinity Designer and Adobe Illustrator: Auto Trace: Transforming pixel files into vector files. All apps (on windows): Pls add std. executable Files instead of the "new" format which has so much limits (no chance to choose a specific path etc). So tricky to get manual Shortcuts to the Desktop and Affinity Folder. Also: I understand due to new possibilities v2 cannot be opened by v1 Apps, but there should be the possibility to export from v2 into a format v1 can read (with limitation, like live filters will cause permanent etc.) Hopefully you will hook up (like in the past) with new features like I mentioned with upcoming Versions. In the end, yes I am disappointed but a lot of the new features are really good! Not everything is black and bad -
I have a macOS updated to current Ventura software, I downloaded all of my V1 and V2 affinity apps from the developers site. First I installed V2 Migrated V1 into V2 when prompted Then I erased all V1 apps as best I could from Mac OS I have yet to see what this did or any effects this will have if any at all. Im interested in creating as much space on my computer as possible by getting rid of all V1 package contents, cache, etc. Can anyone tell me if there is a efficient way to do this manually and with out a cleaner. in my experience the cleaners still tend to leave a lot behind and id like to trash all of the old V1 contents. I just can’t remember which folders I should check in macOS , any help would be great ! Im also interested to know about the best way to install/uninstall 1) Install/uninstall A. Did you Uninstalled V1 affinity apps to include photo, designer, publisher, before you installed the V2 version? OR B. Did you Install V2 and then uninstall V1 apps after ? Did you encounter Any problems? did you find a solution? 2) Migrate V1 into V2 A.Did you migrate V1 into V2 when prompted ? OR B.Did you decide not to migrate V1 to V2 and install plug-ins add-ons etc. afterwards ? Even though I have all 3 Affinity V1 programs (and two licences for Affinity Photo!) I see no upgrade path to V2? What happened to brand loyalty or are we all set for a an escalator of V2, V3, V3, V4 when 99% of each program is the same as previous version? I notices SERIF has STOPPED development on the V1 suite many months ago when updates ceased so I was expecting new version but DID EXPECT NO UPGRADE PATH? I think we should be told. Is not a series of V1, V2, V3, V4 the same as Adobes continuously licensing but presented in a different manner? You underestimate the intelligence of your customers. -

Doing some tests with the Raw development in V2 - works well Created a version with a linked File option. Going back from the Photo Persona to Develop Persona when first editing or when saved and reopened (Linked file not moved) remembers all settings I had set. One of the settings is that have to manual choose the Olympus 12-200 lens as it does not autodetect it. If it move the linked file to another folder and then reattached the Raw File all the settings I set in the Develop Persona are remembered and still there except the lens profile have to reset that. Hello, I already posted this on October 24, just few time before V2 release. Didn't get any answar (and with the recent release of V2 I find this quite obvious), so I propose the same question again (maybe that V2 already includes some thing which will help solving this issue), now that the V2 has been released, hoping in a better luck... --- I know that this issue has already been discussed sometimes before, anyway... Currently LRTimelapse needs Lightroom in order to use all its features, and looking on LRT forum the author said (on last 2022-03-21) "... FYI: I've tested all other available Raw converters. None provide the required interfaces. So no, there will be no LRTimelapse version with another raw converter in the near future. ..." (https://forum.lrtimelapse.com/Thread-lrtimelapse-without-lightroom?pid=51212#pid51212) Don't know the interface technical specs which may help interfacing AP to LRT, but making AP suitable to be used with LRT instead than Lightroom could help the diffusion of AP also in the timelapse world (LRT is the most used software for this purpose). What about if AP engineer get in touch with LRT in order to check if this is feasible? (maybe it's easier than expected or, even better, this has been already done and next AP release will be good for this too, who knows...) Many thanks in advace for the time spent in reading this...
