  1. Hi, after the update today I noticed that Unsplash is missing in the Stock Panels of all three apps. Is there a good reason for it or is it a bug? I'm on Windows 10.
  2. In the stock panel we list a selection of stock image providers for the convenience of our customers on the basis of it being a free service. Unfortunately in the case of Unsplash they have begun demanding license fees for their API which is the reason they have been removed. The good news is this only affects Unsplash, the other options of Pixbay and Pexels continue to be available. Of course should you wish to use Unsplash images you can download directly from their website using a browser and then import into your Affinity apps by drag & drop or File -> Place, as you would with any other stock library not listed in the panel.
  3. Hi Affinity, I'm fairly certain I found an issue that can be solved quickly, although it appears the sock image viewer already had bugs crashing the app for many users. If the STOCK image fetcher doesn't have scroll bars it won't fetch more images upon scrolling down. As you can see in the attached photo that I moved the stock panel to the left side so I could drop it into the layer panel directly where the image should be placed. To my surprise it seems that if the window doesn't have a scroll bar then it won't fetch more images. This was confirmed by undocking the STOCK tab to a floating doc as you can see in the 2nd screenshot, resizing the height a little smaller until the scrollbar appeared. Once I did that it fetched more images upon scrolling down. Aside from the STOCK dock being a bit buggy, it looks to me that the STOCK image fetcher should exclusively have the scroll bars visible under all conditions or else it will never trigger the fetch more images function apparently tied to it. As always Affinity Designer is lightyears ahead of my Inkscape bottlenecked workflow and have appreciated the quality and effort put into developing and making available to us a program that allows us to remain in our creative zone. Thank you Jordan
  4. The pinned FAQ was recently updated to say: I'm sorry to have to say "Oh no it isn't!" And since I'm briefly in unseasonable panto mode, let's add: (Bugs?) "They're behind you!" #ahem Photo, Designer (both Mac App Store) and Publisher (Affinity Store) - each the latest v1.9.2 production releases - are still crashing when searching for a keyword in Unsplash stock. This is on my Mac mini M1 running the current version of Big Sur. Searches in Pexels and Pixabay are functioning as expected. Repeatable steps in all three apps: launch app create new blank document (any size) and save file <-- this step is optional display Stock panel select Unsplash type keyword in search field press [Return] (and retreat to a safe distance) crash! I wonder if there have been two problems all along, since I've not seen anyone else report this continued problem since 1.9.2 went through beta and was subsequently released to production? I've attached the crash logs from each app and they all seem pretty much identical. I'm afraid my ability to interpret them is limited, so I can't read much into them. 5. Affinity Photo crashes when stock photos tab are being used. Using Unsplash images cause the program to close.
  6. Hi guys, I would like to know how to grab and drop an image out of the Unsplash stock library into the my art board. Thank you from🇯🇵
  7. Good day, I'm well aware that the Stock Photo search panel is only available in Affinity Publisher, but, I was wondering when the Unsplash panel would come into the other Affinity Softwares. Now that I have Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo in my arsenal(ditching the subscription model of Adobe altogether), It would be very favorable if it were so. Is it somewhere hidden, perhaps? let me know. Thanks!
  8. Originally published in 1897 as A Mad Song, Wandering Aengus (or The Golden Apples of the Sun) has been popular set to music, and it's haunted my since I first learnt it in the seventies. This image is a composite of two Unsplash photos, woodland by John Westrock and girl by Dylan Nolte. Sparkles, vignette and other fiddly bits by yours truly. I went out to the hazel wood, Because a fire was in my head, And cut and peeled a hazel wand, And hooked a berry to a thread; And when white moths were on the wing, And moth-like stars were flickering out, I dropped the berry in a stream And caught a little silver trout. When I had laid it on the floor I went to blow the fire a-flame, But something rustled on the floor, And someone called me by my name: It had become a glimmering girl With apple blossom in her hair Who called me by my name and ran And faded through the brightening air. Though I am old with wandering Through hollow lands and hilly lands, I will find out where she has gone, And kiss her lips and take her hands; And walk among long dappled grass, And pluck till time and times are done, The silver apples of the moon, The golden apples of the sun. 9. I have tried to retrieve images from Unsplash through the Stock panel in Publisher several times and repeatedly get the message "Connection Failed." I can however use the link to go to the website. This problem also exists in Affinity Photo. Is there a fix for this? Unsplash has undoubtedly better images and a larger selection. While downloading from their website is not such a big problem, it does complicate the workflow and I believe solving that was the point of including the Stock panel feature.
  10. Hello all! THANK YOU to everyone who answered my previous question about open type text. I see that there is no consensus on the subject. Lol My QUESTION today is this: I understand that there is a new stock feature that will enable access to unsplash, pixabay, etc. HOWEVER, NONE of my 3 Affinity downloaded programmes have it! What is going on? Can someone help PLEASE?
  11. Is there any plugins or other way to use Unsplash and Designer together? Like a plugin or some easy way?
  12. Hey everyone! Unfortunately I couldn't find a comment about this question. If there is already a topic, please refer to it. What about other suppliers of stock photos? In all applications there is already the palette called "Stock". Among it you can see a drop-list, but it only contains one item/supplier which is Shutterstock. Are there plans to add more picture agencies, maybe some creative commons like Unsplash as well? Or will the community have the possibility to edit the list itself at some point? <- That would actually be awesome. Is it possible to express wishes as to which agencies should be available for selection? Regards MrDoodlezz
