  2. Hi, I'm having a bit of a strange issue and I'm wondering if anyone could shed some light on this. I'm an indie game developer, I've been using illustrator previously but switched over to the Affinity Suite (Affinity Designer for this asset). My general workflow is Create art in affinity designer (2x the resolution I need for the screen space) > Import to Spine > half the size of images > Export for unity. Now this could be an issue any where down the line and I'm going to explore all options but I thought I'd start with Affinity where the art is created. I'm having some issues with this Trampoline I've create where the edges look 'bad' and it seems to be an aliasing issue as far as I can tell. The issue I'm referring to is the jaggy edges on the black outline. The scene on the right has some post processing running on it with some screen space anti-aliasing. The resolution of the asset in Unity is roughly 260 x 92 and the resolution of the game is 1920x1080. These are my export settings in Affinity : Document setup settings : This is the sprite sheet that Spine is exporting as a packed image (2048x128). These are my export settings from Spine to create the above packed image: If anyone could shed any light or suggest some options I could look at in Affinity Designer when I come to export that'd be super useful! I've tried to include as much detail as possible but let me know if I can share anything else! Thanks, Matt
  3. Hi, I am creating transparent .png files for use in Unity. I was frustrated by the fact that using standard png export settings, there is a thin white outline around the transparent parts. After some reading I realized that I simply have to change the Matte png export options from white to black and it solved this issue. The problem now is that I have to change the settings every time I export. It would be much easier if the program could : a. save custom export presets b. or at least remember the last used export settings. Please let me know if there is another workaround for my issue that I am not aware of. Kind regards, Ippokratis
  4. Beyond Horizon is a 2D side-scroller game focusing on story and exploration both on land and within the stars. Explore dungeons, towns or fight space pirates with your ship, while uncovering the lore and the secrets behind the Sigma and the original race, all of this is just Beyond the horizon. Join the Discord Community!Follow development on Notion! What is the game about: Beyond Horizon follow Aito after his grandfather suddenly has to leave, 3 years later with no return he tries to save up everything he has in-order to afford a spaceship to go after him. While on a routine mission to find a missing cargo supply he comes across a stone that once touched absorbs into Aito giving him powers along with a map to 8 location. Unknowingly awakening an evil force to his location. Now to save his town the only option is to flee, they attempt to lure the Sigma away with his friends in a stolen spaceship, now the only option is to run. Following the map to each location in the hopes to stop this Sigma killing the system. About the Project:Beyond Horizon is a small project I've been working on for a couple of years now, starting off as a 2d pixel art game before moving into this mixture of vector and semi-realistic textures that I started to play around with while working on an illustrated calendar.I'm currently working on this project solo so production on the game has been slow (along with changing a lot of things required to re-start from the ground up) and I felt like I should start sharing the project. 5. Hi! I tweeted about it and got the answer I should post it here. I'm a game developer and do all my work in Unity. Now I'm switching from Photoshop to Affinity. One great thing about using Photoshop with Unity is that psd files can be used as texture assets. Since even an indie game can easily require thousands of texture assets, it's a pretty big deal to not have to deal with separate files for the original and the texture asset. If Serif is not willing to make the image format open, how about getting in touch with the people Unity and see if there's another solution? I have a bunch of Unity contacts (I used to hang out at their Copenhagen office occasionally) and I'd be happy to do an email introduction!

  7. Hi there, I recently had to chance to discover Affinity Designer. As a hobbyist and not a professional artist, I must say the product really encouraged me to create and learn more about graphics design due to its easy to use and visually pleasing interface. After I familiarised with the software, I decided to use Affinity Designer to create art for a mobile video game that I was planning to develop for some time. It recently listed on the App Store and I decided to share with the community. I'm open to all sorts of feedbacks and I also would like to express my gratitude by discovering with this most amazing software and its creative team.
