  1. I have been trying to uninstall Affinity 2 with no success. I have the latest 2.0.3 version. The software works fine and launches with no problem. I am just wanting to uninstall it for now. In Windows 11 I have tried Settings>Apps>Installed Apps, and tried to uninstall but keep getting this message: "We couldn't uninstall Affinity Photo 2 The operation did not complete successfully Try again in a bit. The error code is 0x80073cfa, in case you need it." I have looked at the FAQ section in this forum and those suggestions did not seem to help. Would appreciate if someone could assist.
  2. OK. So I installed the entire V2 suite and uninstalled the entire V1 suite (or so I thought) on a Windows 10 machine in that order. I noticed if I double clicked on any V1 Designer file to open it would still open in AD V1. Right clicking a file to open I would see what's in this image. AD V1 is still showing up as a drop down menu option however it's not in my start menu nor does it show up in Programs and Features in the Control Panel. I thought it was gone initially. Also please note that thumbnails are not showing up in saved AD files in explorer only the Affinity icon. My AP files are saving thumbnails fine and I can see them in explorer. I did some hunting and found these files which I placed in the recycle bin originally found in C:/Program Files. These are AD V1 files that did not get uninstalled. AD V1 no longer comes up as an option while these files are in the trash when I right click a file to open it however now the thumbnails and Affinity icon both are gone. If I restore the files the icons return and so does AD V1 but only in the right click dropdown menu. What I'd like to achieve is to get AD V1 off my machine and get my thumbnails back. I have looked at the threads here concerning thumbnail issues and have tried everything suggested. Deleting thumbnail cache, uncheck icons only, etc. One Drive is not on this machine and I have never used it to my knowledge. I've run dism and sfc/scannow also. Prior to installing the V2 suite I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Win 10. I also uninstalled and reinstalled AD V2 today to see if that would fix things. It didn't. This is what I'm running: Edition Windows 10 Home Version 21H2 Installed on ‎8/‎28/‎2022 OS build 19044.2486 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4190.0 Am I missing something? Why do my AD thumbnails and icons go generic when I dump the AD V1.exe? If I restore the files I trashed the Affinity icons return but I'm still missing the the thumbnails in explorer. Why does my computer think AD V1 is gone yet it's still here? Thanks!
  3. I’ve recently updated all my affinity products to the 1.10 update and since then I can’t open Affinity Designer at all. The colourful opening tab comes up, then it never opens and shuts itself down again. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled it and still no luck, does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can use/open this software again? I've got no problem with photo or publisher either, just designer!
  4. I have a macOS updated to current Ventura software, I downloaded all of my V1 and V2 affinity apps from the developers site. First I installed V2 Migrated V1 into V2 when prompted Then I erased all V1 apps as best I could from Mac OS I have yet to see what this did or any effects this will have if any at all. Im interested in creating as much space on my computer as possible by getting rid of all V1 package contents, cache, etc. Can anyone tell me if there is a efficient way to do this manually and with out a cleaner. in my experience the cleaners still tend to leave a lot behind and id like to trash all of the old V1 contents. I just can’t remember which folders I should check in macOS , any help would be great ! Im also interested to know about the best way to install/uninstall 1) Install/uninstall A. Did you Uninstalled V1 affinity apps to include photo, designer, publisher, before you installed the V2 version? OR B. Did you Install V2 and then uninstall V1 apps after ? Did you encounter Any problems? did you find a solution? 2) Migrate V1 into V2 A.Did you migrate V1 into V2 when prompted ? OR B.Did you decide not to migrate V1 to V2 and install plug-ins add-ons etc. afterwards ? Did you encounter Any problems? did you find a solution? *ANY INFOR YOU ARE ABLE TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE QUESTIONS ABOVE ARE APPRECIATED Thanks !
  5. First off, AWESOME job on Version 2!! 👍 I can not wait to switch to V2. One thing I have noticed is the FAQ mentioned that V2 files are not backward compatible. V2 files can not to be open in V1. I guess it is recommended to completely uninstall V1 prior using V2? Does V2 import my existing preferences?
  6. Before going any further, please make sure that you're using a supported operating system. Affinity V2 WILL ONLY INSTALL AND RUN on Windows 11 & Windows 10 May 2020 Update (2004, 20H1, build 19041) or later. To find out which version of Windows you're running, please read this from Microsoft. Affinity V2 & .MSIX If you've purchased Affinity V2 for Windows directly from the Affinity Store, you will have downloaded an MSIX package. MSIX packages are a modern and reliable installation package which means install and uninstall issues are rare. You can read more about our decision to use MSIX here. However, if you run into issues when trying to install or uninstall Affinity V2, please try the below suggestions: Check you're not getting one of the below install errors: Error 0x80073D10 Error 0x80073CFD Error 0x80073CF3 App Installer failed to install package dependencies App didn't start Additional MSIX Error Codes Access is Denied (0X80070005): Please use PowerShell command below Opening the package from location failed: Please use PowerShell command below Cannot open app package - error In parsing the app package Sideloading is blocked by policy App Installer Download: If you don't have an app installed to open the .MSIX file you may need to download and install App Installer from the Microsoft Store here. Use PowerShell Instead: You can also install MSIX packages via PowerShell by opening PowerShell as Admin and then using the following command, presuming you have downloaded the MSIX to your Downloads folder: Add-AppxPackage -Path "C:\Users\MyUserName\Downloads\affinity-designer-2.0.3.msix" -DependencyPath "https://aka.ms/Microsoft.VCLibs.x64.14.00.Desktop.appx" Log Files If you're still having issues installing our apps and you're not getting one of the errors listed above, you can check the MSIX installation logs in Event Viewer by going to: Application and Services Logs > Microsoft > Windows > AppxDeployment-Server > Microsoft-Windows-AppXDeploymentServer/Operational App Fail to Uninstall Apps can be uninstall via Settings > Apps > Apps & Features but if that fails for whatever reason, you can try uninstalling via PowerShell using the following command: Remove-AppxPackage -Package "SerifEuropeLtd.AffinityPhoto2_2.0.0_x64__v5ap6qg21y3cg" You can use AppxPackage –AllUsers -Name *Affinity* Cmdlet in PowerShell to find the correct Package Name before running the above command.
  7. Hi, I upgraded my SSD drive and want to move my Affinity installations to the SSD from my SATA. However, I cannot uninstall because it's looking for the MSI files that are no longer in the temp directory. What can I do? Thanks!
  8. Hello there everyone, same problem here. Currently using 1.9.2 and I've tried update with both 1.10.0 and 1.10.1, still no success. Tried the zipping method on %appdata\Affinity\Designer and renaming it into "1.0 old", yet no success either. Does anyone have a clue? Because the 1.9.2 version of Photo starting to lag and I'm getting woried about it. 9. Hi. I downloaded Affinity Publisher latest update. My pc crashed while I was performing the install. It seems the update was canceled but the previous version I am using is unable to work. The Affinity Publisher folder is present, but I can not execute the app or perform an uninstall operation in order to install the latest update. If I try to execute the newest Affinity Publisher install a dialog window appears saying that the Affinity Publisher folder is already in my system and I should pick a new folder in order to install it. I would like to perfom a clean uninstall of the previous Apublisher and then install the new version. Thank you
  10. I have just started affinity photo and been offered an update, which I accepted. The update ran its course and then said "failed to up date". I now cannot start Affinity photo and subsequent downloads have failed to install as well. The program does not now show in my installed programs and I can't uninstall it.
  11. Hi all, I have installed my own AP in the work computer, and now I need to completely uninstall (serial, preferences, etc) it from it and preventing that when another co-worker install AP doesn't use my license. I'm on Win10 How this can be done? Cheers, Juan
  12. Im getting into some sticky mud here. I'm the technincal administrator of an architectural office in Norway. I am advocating for the use of affinity products instead of Adobe after using your apps privately and finding it a positive experience. So we are trying to evaluate using Affinity Publisher at our office and everybody is trying it out, but today it did not want to open, saying a usual "the beta is too old, download the new one...". I downloaded the newest beta but upon running it says "Setup Failed"... I then repooted, ran as admin but nothing works. Now I wish to get rid of the program on our system but it cant uninstall saying "Another program is being installed"... I now have everybody else who use Affinity at our office staring down my neck asking me how to solve this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I feel as if im well into a deadend here... I have attached the failed setup log files. Setup.log SetupUI.log

  14. Hello, So, I have Affinity Designer installed on my computer. I am planning to do a clean install of my computer and am wondering about the Affinity Designer product key. I am wondering if I am able to simply uninstall Affinity, then do my clean install, and install it again with my email and product key, or if I will have to do something else for it to deactivate. Thanks for any help. I am running Windows 10 Creator's Update (64-bit) on a custom desktop.
